[Req] How-to decompile apk

Hello i need to decompile an app (specialy the LiveView.app)
i got all xml files converted, but i still need to get the java source
can anyone please help me with an howto and can post the complete decompiled source?
Iam using Windows only :/

editing android XML files

hi everyone .... i want to edit the .xml files in android .... is there any efficient or reliable way by which the editing is possible.... plz help me ....

What kind of files do you want to edit? There are a lot of good tools in the Eclipse Android plugin.

please post in general section....
if u r talking about the xml in framework or apps u need to decompile first...
using search option is the best way to do it...

Thanx dude i want to edit apk's like framework-res.apk, TW launcher30.......... Etc. If know how to edit or decompiling these apk's and again recompiling plz plz tell me or post d link..... Thanx again

I think apktool is what u should look for, but there is even more, just use search function and Google can help as well

You can use Apk Manager or Autoapktool for easier compile/decompile.
Dont use the development section for questions! Use the general section instead!

Is that only if you want to work with the xmls within apks?
What if you want to modify the xml in your system files?
Tried File Expert and aShell but they can't open the xml file.

What they can do?
A patch?

Is there an app for froyo to edit a xml files ?

every APK needs to be decompiled before XML editing with a unix conform editor (notepad++ e.g. for windows)
after having edited the xml, just recompile it
a very good tool (with guide) is found here
Read the instructions carefully and have fun.

edit res\xml
before you begin, you must decompile. you can use apktool . if done you can edit with notepad++ or import existing code on adt.
and recompile

Hi marko, attaching the lua files from Sense weather tab. They are decompiled with m9editor, so you can have a look into the source. But they have many decompiler errors that have to be corrected before recompile. I really do not think its an easy task to change accuweather because it is very involved in several files, as you may see. You can open and edit them with notepad2, then recompile with LuaTool.exe and tried back to windows folder. Good luck!

[Q] Need help on Decompiling system and boot.img

Hi folks,
I have recently gotten the system files for the Acer Liquid E1. I have read into ways of decompiling/compiling those files and came across yaffs. That didn't work. So the question is, is there someone with experience in all this willing to decompile the system img for me? It's a huge file (600+ mb and then there is boot.img of 5mb) so I'll upload it when someone wants is and is able to help me

Thx for the info!! Although I have no experience with linux whatsoever but i think there is no way to compile ext4 img from windows? maybe cygwin but that seems to be hard to do too...

[Q] Decompile .so file

Hi can I ask if anybody knows of a decompiler or any utility that can decompile .so files? I want to decompile the google now library and see if it can be somehow edited to work on armv6 devices. I searched all around but nome of the answers are useful. Please can anybody give me a link or give an explanation about a software that can decompile .so files? Thanks a lot for any help that anybody gives!
