[Completed] Why do links to apps on the Play Store via XDA not open in Play Store app? - XDA Assist

When I open a link on the XDA forums to an app on the Play Store from my browser (Chrome 48.0.2564.95) on my phone (OnePlus One, Omnirom 6.0.1 nightly, BaNkS dynamic GApps), the links do not open in the Play Store app; they open in a new Chrome tab.
E.g. from my phone, if I click this link (Google app on Play Store):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox,
the link opens in a new tab instead of the Play Store app. Links on other websites work just fine, but through XDA they don't. If I long-press the link on my phone's browser, I see that it is actually a link via an XDA API (a url like *click.xda~.com/api/click?*) that ends up linking you to the Play Store. Note that I don't see the XDA API links from my computer browser (Firefox 44.0), but the actual play.google.com link.
EDIT: the link above does open through play.google.com without the XDA click API on my phone an thus opens in the Play Store app. However, I have an example of a link that always fails me:
The first link in this thread (Cyanogenmod Calculator app) opens the website instead of the app on my phone.
I understand XDA wants to monitor what sites their forums link to, but I don't understand why my phone/browser doesn't end up opening the Play Store app instead of the Play Store website: even the API link should finally be redirected to some url like *play.google.com/store*, which is a link that my phone normally opens in the app instead of the website.
What might be causing this problem? Is this the intended behaviour by the XDA website, or is this a bug? Is there a fix?

Lenovo App store not installing?

I'm trying to update some apps from lenovo app store (Notes mobile, gmail, kindle etc) and everytime I start downloading it, the notification shows then the whole screen goes black and then app store crashes.
Any ideas?
I bought it used, factory reset it, updated to 0089_US.
Exact same problem here.
Have you found a fix?

Same problem with this built-in Lenovo App shop apk - black screen after trying a download. Contacted their support (mobihand) and a TSA sends me the update files for download.
This is the way I do updates until I discovered this workaround:
Access directly to their website: http://www.lenovoappshop.com/
login to your account and check the apks needing updates and send it to my email for downloading.
This worked for all apks except for the Gmail apk (parsing problem).
Hope this helps.
The lenovo app store went out of business while back leaving the customers stranded. Type alternative android app markets into Google search an in the first few forums you should find lists of free app market that will work on device. I use slideme an Amazon app markets, an a few others. Hope this helps you.

[App] Google Jellybean Play Store 3.7.13

I couldn't find this posted on this forum, so I paste a link to the Jellybean Google Play Store (3.7.13).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744651
The link for download is in dastin1015's post (post #1).
From what I've read, this play store will download only the updates to the apps, not the complete apps, and this remains to be tested.
Is this old news and does everyone here already know about this app?
Can people post their results after installing this app and confirm/refute whether this version of Play Store actually downloads only the updates to the apps, and not the complete apps while upgrading?

Is there any thing differant in this virsion??
I just checked my play store version and it is 3.7.13, and for the updates it downloads the full app and not just the updated part of it.

You can find it on AndroidPIT app center!
Download the androidPIT apk from their mail after registration, open it and search mysms tablet.
It works for my galaxy nexus

This is the most useless advice I ever read!
AndroidPit does nothing else than point you to google play.
That makes AndroidPit even more useless

How to download apk file directly from google play store.

Android, smartphone apps and games are packed as APK files. Learn how to easily download any APK file from the Google Play Store. Android apps are packaged as APK files. You'll be able to use any File Manager app to copy these files from the computer to your Android device and then touch the .apk file to install, or sideload, the corresponding app on your device.
There are various reasons why you may want to download the APK installer of an Android app from the Google Play store:
Google Play Store says that a particular app or game is incompatible with your Android device though you know that the app would work just fine.
Sometime an Android app may be not be available for download in the Google Play store of your region or country.
An app is listed on the Google Play store but you want to install that app on another Android device, like the Amazon Kindle tablet, that doesn’t have the Play Store.
An Easy Way to Download APK Files from Google Play:
Since this we will be using a web service EVOZI. This is a website which allows you to paste the App URL from Google Play Store. Once the app URL pasted it will make a direct download link. The download link will allow you download the APK file for any free Android App available on Google Play Store.
Since the App APK is brought from Play Store, their wont be any security issues. Also the internet site only allows free apps and not the paid at one time henceforth app piracy is not encouraged.
The APK file once downloaded can alongside loaded on your Android Phone and the app can be installed with just one click of a button.

So if its a pay for app do you have to pay for it, don't fancy trusting a randomer with my card details. I badly want the retail version of republique for my galaxy s3 but according to the playstore its incompatible.
It runs just fine but its a 'bad' copy that i have so I'm stuck between iraq and a hard place..

Finding the url to open an app?

ANDROID QUESTION (ios too in some cases)
Hi does anyone know how to find the url of an app, for example of I want to open camera on an android phone I would probably use camera:// . If I wanted to open another app like github then how would I find that specific app url? do i have to export the apk and find it myself?
here's to make it more clear:
spotify:// to open spotify
reddit:// to open reddit
As we know, that is 'deep link' or 'app link'.
'market://' is for Google Play Store.
'amzn://' is for Amazon Appstore.
