To try to answer your question, I may need clarification. By the sounds of it, since the device is (probably) stuck back on ICS, Samsung didn't give this device enough attention to warrant an OS upgrade. And since it was released around August 2012 (and the benchmark for support is 18 months), it would mean official support would only bring the device up to one of the newer JellyBean OS'es (like 4.3.1).

You should check the [INDEX] AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 All-In-One Resource Thread! ... in first post you will find a link to TowelRoot.
This will work on older firmware versions only. So you may have to "downgrade" if possible.

hello, i have a note 3 sm-n900 running android 5.0. i am trying to find a custom kernel but i can't find anything compatible with my device. Can anyone confirm if there is or not?

Thank you. I have already read the post you mentioned and i didn't find any kernel compatible with my device. It appears that samsung hasn't yet released the source code for the sm-n900 lollipop therefore no kernel are available yet for this device.
I have a galaxy s4 with verizon but I switched it to straight talk but it won't let me update my phone to the lolipop update how do I fix this

There doesn't seem to be any sort of thread about this. Maybe there's just extremely few SGH-I257 users but they really seem to be left in the lurch with regards to ROM support.
I saw reports that SGH-I257 (the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S4 Mini) could be flashed with the I9195 variant's ROMS, but I tried doing so and it didn't work.
I just want a solid answer as to where to go next, I'm kind of surprised this isn't something addressed in most Q&A sections for this phone. Is there some big Q&A thread for newbies that I've missed? Can anyone help?
