OnePlus One HardBricked, Can't fix - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was using my OnePlus One last night and it froze, five minutes later it switched off and wouldn't turn back on. I've tried charging it and all of the different button combinations, nothing works.
When I plug it into the computer and hold down the power + volume up buttons the computer makes a sound.
All I get in device manager is 'RELINK HS-USB QDLoader 9008'
Can anyone help me fix the phone? It was rooted and running the first version of OxygenOS

What's the battery status, let the battery get completely drain. May restart after the drain

I left it charging over night to see if that would help, so it should be around full. I'll try what you've said and post a reply.
Thanks

Let the battery drain completely, I believe phone will restart after that. Must be software with hardware glitch.

I've managed to get the drivers to update the drivers of the OnePlus One to the Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 drivers.
I then run the Msm8974 tool, it shows the particular line with my phone, when I press start the line goes green for a while then it cancels and the phone disconnects.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

I'd say try the guide again following the exact steps, running as admin, etc. I've read a lot of success stories from that guide. If anything else goes wrong you could always try posting your question there. Good luck!

No phone goes into a hard brick for no reason at all. What were you doing with it when it happened?
What ROM, Kernel, etc?

The phone is totally unresponsive? What Rom did you flash before this if you flashed a new Rom and give me the link to it

It's pretty hard to hard brick a HTC ( knock on wood) mire info were you flashing a Rom or cuz if you were stock I can't imagine that happened
It might be as simple as ur battery is drained. Have u tried plugging it in overnight and seeing if it powers up next day?

First of all thank you very much for helping me in this problem, the phone does not turn on when I press power and also when I press power and volume down and the LED does not turn on when I put it to charge. What you charge the battery overnight and also now not even turn on. What if I've noticed is that despite not firing when I connect the phone via USB to the computer the computer detects the phone and asks me to install drivers for QHSUSB_DLOAD. Before that I had damaged the ROM installed Nocturnal special edition / audio edition of KANLESS. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
You must of flashed a diff Rom that's not for our phone let's mot try to put any blame on magical and his good Rom

If your phone won't charge, and in Qualcomm download mode, you are pretty much screwed.

I'm guessing you flashed something before Nocturnal and then went to Nocturnal after it messed up your phone. Your phone is bricked (QHSUSB tell us that), but Nocturnal wouldn't have done that.

Yeah, from what I understand, Qualcomm download mode means that hboot has been overwritten or otherwise damaged. Usually that is a result of flashing a ROM or recovery meant for another device. Flashing the "correct" ROMs does not touch hboot.
Did you flash any other ROMs, and what recovery were you using?
just plug the phone into the wall for a few hours then PM me. Its not any rom, no rom or recovery will do this to a phone. I'm sure its something very simple.
"QHSUSB_DLOAD" is basically a "panic mode" that the CPU goes into when it can't find a bootloader. So somehow or another you corrupted it.
There is a way to fix this using Linux, but I believe the phone has to have a charge.
Just search the S-Off thread, I remember someone mentioning how to do it there.

Confirm the model of phone you have. If it is indeed a SGH T959V, use the guide in the second link of my signature.
It is confirmed that the phone is in fact the SGH-T959V.. I'm using a Windows 7 PC, and the phone won't stay powered on long enough for the system to load the drivers for it.. Any other suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated...

Could you provide more info on how the phone got stuck, were you trying to flash a new ROM. Lumins guide is excellent( it has gotten me out of multiple self induced boot loops) but after installing one click, windows will not show you, on the pull down, a samsung composite device. you will have to look through the different drives that are shown to determine which drive your phone is on.
If you can get into the recovery mode, have you simply tried reflasing

If when you say shut down you mean bootloop, you need to read the guide as it says to put the phone in download mode. If your battery is dead, I'm sure you can figure out what you need to do to charge your battery on your own.

First make sure the battery is charged as Lumin suggested. If the battery is charged then my bet would be that you have a stuck power button. Try this. Pull the battery and put it back in. If the phone powers on by itself then your power button is stuck.

Put in a brand new battery.. Phone is powering on by itself, but the power button doesn't feel like it's stuck.. Not saying it isn't stuck IJS.. It goes into recovery mode for a split second and resets.. Drivers won't load because the phone won't stay on long enough.. UGH!!

I did, and seems to be working fine.. EXCEPT when I try to charge it or plug it into the pc.. It goes back into the boot loop.. Thinking the charger port may be the culprit here..

[Q] Bricked : Flashing sbl1

I was trying to flash BlissPop. It didn't flash. So, I decided to flash fastboot image of CM11s 44.
I issued this command :
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn
fastboot reboot-bootloader
The flash sbl1 command gave an error.
I rebooted bootloader. The phone turned off, but it never turned on.
I don't know how could it brick my phone, because I've done it a few times without any error.
My battery was on 65% when I was doing all this. So, I don't suspect battery has died.
But, I'm charging the phone anyway. There is no lead, but the power bank shows that battery is taking charge.
When I connect the phone to PC, it shows no signs of any device connected. Device manager doesn't show any thing/any refresh.
I've tried to push the power button for about a minute for 5 times, as 1+1 site says.
I've tried vol up + power and vol down + power buttons. It doesn't boot it.
I've no access to fastboot, recovery, OS, anything.
Please, suggest me solutions.
Did you flash the firmware updates before you flashed bliss? There is a toolkit out there, linked in bliss thread, on how to unbrick. I'll see if I can't find it.

Thanks. I looked at it.
But, as you said I can't do anything till the phone turns on even once.
BTW, I highly suspect battery drain, because I was in TWRP for long to take backup, flashing MultiROM, etc. TWRP is known to not allow charging, as reported by some people.
Can you tell me whether flashing sbl1 could have bricked it or not? It didn't fail to flash in past and it never caused problem.
I had flashed CM12 firmware update before flashing BlissPop. Could reflashing CM11s fastboot image over it cause problem. I think it should not, because fastboot image replace all things. What's your opinion?
Had the same problem. Try first leave it charging for 12 hours after that plug it in. Then get into fastboot this is not easy. Just hold vol up and power together for atv least 5 Sec.

I guess its possible. But I would do what falastine said. Charge it for some time. With a soft brick it may not show anything on the screen but could actually be on. So be patient trying to get the toolkit to find the phone. I've heard in another thread someone's phone did in fact connect but nothing was on the screen

any progress on this? i think the exact same thing happened to me. was trying to flash back to CM11s using fastboot, but it died. now i dont get anything at all. no response to the chrager, or the computer or anything.
ive tried holding the power button, holding the vol keys with the pwr button, but no avail.
let me know if you figured it out!

I left the phone in charge for 24 hours using original charger and wire.
Tried long presses for multiple times - nothing happens.
Tried vol up/ vol down combinations with power button for long nothing happens.
I am now waiting for 12 hours and then will plug it again, as some thread said.
In between I'm trying to download a tool from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/tool-oneplusrecovery-tool-v1-0-restore-t2991851
I hope it detects my phone.

There is no progress.
It appears that we are in same situation.
I highly suspect dead battery, instead of dead phone. Anyway, I'll post updates.

I had the same problem and had to restore the phone with this tool:

So this is how i did it.
1. install the drivers from OPO (located in the .zip file from this tool https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/t...ks-etc.237827/ )
2. Open your device manager (Start - right click on computer - properties - devices manager)
3. Press on power + vol up for like 10 sec until you see a device showing up (called QHSUSB_BULK)
4. Download the qualcomdriver ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/vgujdut93m341qm/Qualcomm 2012.rar?dl=0 ). Right click on this devices and click on "Update Driver Software" -> "Browse my computer for driver software" -> locate the Qualcomm 2012\fre\Windows7 8 or vista folder depending on your setup. Update the driver.
5. Now the OPO tool should recognize your device. I turn off all my network connections so the usb device can't find other drivers. (in case windows overwrite the driver).

I followed the same key combination which you mentioned. It doesn't help.
Can you tell me if battery is totally depleted, will it be possible for phone to be detected?
I've tried to charge my phone with various chargers and power banks. The battery stays cold, the charger stays cold, power bank blinks and get depleted, but phone is not vibrating even on long press.
I've tried on virtual PC, a XP machine. And on other real XP PC.

Even if your battery is depleted it should get detected in your machine when u press volume up and power while its connected to your pc.hold it for a minute this combination should show something also keep your pc volume up to hear any port connect discconect sounds. If this doesnt happen then your hardware is dead no other option but try to give it to opo for service.

It's not booting, he doesn't want to get into edl. It's showing no reaction. But he could try pressing power button for 1min and look for vibration
To try to restore the phone yourself, you must use commands in fastboot or adb.

the power button for a minute didnt do anything either sadly. Im trying to get into edl so i can try and recover it with QPST, but even after opening the phone up and trying to get into edl through hardware, i was only able to get the red charging light to start showing whilst charging. Should I try to disconnect and reconnect the battery maybe?

Yep, can't hurt at this point.
You can try this:
Recharge the battery for at least 1 hour (even if you think it is already charged)
after connect it by usb and press the power button first, power button with volume -, button with volume +, and try to see if it appears on the pc and in what way.

OnePlus 8T Dead (Solved)

When I used the Fastboot Enhance tool to flash the payload.bin file, after the flash process finished I try to reboot but unfortunately it was dead.
No Fastboot, no EDL, no recovery, 3 buttons not working, power with up/down not working, when i connect to PC no sound that the pc recognize the phone "OP 8T", when I plug it into charger no info showing, Just black screen.
So it's working now, I'll explain everything here so it might help.
My device is OnePlus 8T DDR5 version
first, I understand what happened to me, I think the tool didn't recognize ram type automatically so it was flash DDR4 on a DDR5 device, so it made a hard brick
at this point, the idea is to connect 2 test points, and you can force your phone to enter to EDL mode, and we can do it in two ways:
1. Rootk1t giude, thax bro Rootk1t
- Removing the back panel by heating it.
- Unplugging battery
- Then use the EDL points on the motherboard to force the device to boot EDL.
- The device immediately will be recognised with just one tap on "enum" now.
- Plugging the battery again and attaching the back panel and rebooting
2. By using deep EDL cable, but not any edl cable, it must be a moded cable so it can be worked with the new security ...... this link will explain
Hydra Tool Gift Xiaomi, Huawei, Redmi Qualcomm EDL Mode New V2 Cable!! - GSM-Forum
Hydra Tool Gift Xiaomi, Huawei, Redmi Qualcomm EDL Mode New V2 Cable!! Hydra Tool New Type-C EDL cable Schematic With this cable you can reboot your
forum.gsmhosting.com
- So i use Hydra EDL Cble V2 , you can buy it from aliexpress
- Be ready and open your MSM tool
- Press the cable button before connecting
- Connect the cable to your phone when you still pressing the button
- Then connect the USB to your PC
- It will automatically put your phone in EDL mode
- Now your phone will show in the MSM tool screen so you can revive it.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help.
Special thanks to Rootk1t , semdoc

Seem like you flashed the wrong xml for the ram type. There is one for ddr4 and ddr5. If EDL is not working I'm afraid according to several post it's an unrecoverable brick...sorry mate!!!
However keep searching for a solution, you never know maybe a new method of recovery from this disaster may exist. I'll keep searching and if I find anything I'll post it here!
Also have you tried the 3 buttons connected from charger and disconnected? Usually for some reason my phone won't respond with the 3 buttons when connected to usb sometimes.
Also have you used the msm tool before?

Just one more thing, when you connect the phone to pc check your device manager to see if the PC reads the phone. If it does than its just a driver issue and reinstalling the qualcom driver for msm maybe needed.
I've found that sometimes I have to reinstall the Qualcomm drivers for EDL. So check that when you connect the phone to the PC in EDL mode there isn't an entry in Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT)

I can't know which mode the phone is stuck on, because I have only a black screen, even the Power button with volume up / down not working,
do you think if I keep it for a couple of days the battery will drain and I can use MSM tool with press 2 volume buttons, it's the last thing i think about

I would open it up and remove the battery instead of waiting for days but that's also an option. It's not that hard to open, I opened mines to replace the usb port. I just held the back of the bottom corners of the phone over the stove until it was hot enough to soften the glue and used an old credit card and my thumb nail to open it. It maybe unrecoverable anyway so its worth a try.

I've had a totally black screen at times in Qualcomm Crashdump Mode. To get out of it you can use Power+Vol up and then, when the phone buzzes, use the key combination for bootloader or MSM.

I can't feel any buzz, even I tried it when the phone connected to the PC, no sound come from PC prove that the phone is connected
Please keep us updated with any current queries or resolution as I'm very interested in the outcome.

Hello!
If waiting for battery to discharge will not help you, i suggest of:
- Removing the back panel by heating it.
- Unplugging battery
- Then using the EDL points on the motherboard to force the device to boot EDL.
-The device immediately will be recognised by just one tap on "enum" now.
- Plugging the battery again and attaching back panel and rebooting.
