-- I have already tried "system root uninstall" to disable/remove/uninstall "voicemail apps" which come from Sprint but still it gives error.

Not sure but you may get answers if you ask in the Q&A section.

Hi,
I have the same problem, but not answer.
If you have any solution please let me know.
Thanks and advance.

Go to settings Tap, Call Settings, and then tap Voicemail Settings. Tap Voicemail Number. Type the voicemail number into the box or edit the existing voicemail number
at least thats what google says. Im not on a stock ROM, so mine is different. Hope this helps

How to change the voicemail number

Hey,
can anyone help me.
I have an unlocked XDA II and I would like to change the default voicemail number from 901 to 121, can somebody tell me where you change this settings.
Cheers
Gigi
Go to start/settings/phone then click services, click voice mail and sms, then click get settings, you can change it from there.
on XDA I : start -> settings -> phone -> services -> voice mail and sms
Hey
thanks for the reply but the one I would like to change is when your are in the active screen.
go to messaagging/voicemail
That is the one I want to change it is set to 901.
I would like to change it to the Vodafone one which is 121
Cheers
Gigi
I am also having trouble enterng the voicemail number.
Whenever I enter the voicemailnumber in the boxes you get after 'Get settings', a tap om 'ok' just gives me the message the information could not be updated to the network.
I reckon that is just the case, BUT these info (SMS messagecentre and voicemail number) should NOT be updated 'to the network'. These number just reside on the SIM.
Because no voicemailnumber is set-up, the default speed-dial (1-key) for voicemail, which cant be deleted, does not work either . . .
Does anyone have a clue how to enter a voicemailnumber ??
Found a solution, see my other thread:

Official Voicemail removes pauses

When i change the voicemail number from *86 (the number Verizon uses for voicemail) to *86PXXXXP1 and press "ok" the P, which stands for pause, disappears. This also happens when i use my own phone number instead of *86.
I can change the voicemail speed dial to another number and it will work, but i will not be able to click on "listen to voicemail" link and have it automatically enter my password.
Does anyone know a regedit or a workaround to make the pauses stay in the official voicemail number? I can see the companies not wanting the pauses allowed for security reasons, but i'm more concerned with ease.
By official voicemail number i mean... start > Settings > Personal > Phone > Voicemail:
Found Fix
I knew this would happen. As soon as i posted the question i would find a solution. For those of you who are also bothered by this. Here's the reg fix...
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\VMail\UserProvidedNumber1
Change string to your preferred voicemail number with the pauses.
That should fix it. If you ever do go into Start>Settings>Personal>Phone though it will change it back to the number without the pauses.
I'm curious if i am the only one who is bothered by this. Please let me know if you too are annoyed by this!

Visual Voicemail app, problems! Help!

This issue is concerning the G1 phone.
I recently downloaded an app named, Visual VoiceMail. Its supposed to be somekind of interactive list of all the voicemail I recieve, where I can interact and organize by hand on touch screen compared to calling my voicemail and deleting or saving any of my messages by touchtone.
In order for this app to work I must fill out a free registration form that includes my telephone number.
My issue is, Im not sure if they want the telephone number of my phone (I assume they do) or my voicemail telephone number. Neither phone numbers worked.
I cant figure out why either of these numbers wont work for the registration. Every time I enter in a number and try to sumbit I recieve a notice that says, "!! Registration Failed, Unable to determine this devices phone number."
I went to settings, about phone, my phone number. There was no number listed under 'my phone number' and i dont know why that is.
If anyone has any information on how i can make this app work, or how to fix the status of 'my phone number' so it does have an actual phone number (at this moment there isnt an option to edit 'my phone number') it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

[Q] Change voicemail number using app?

Hi all,
Apologies if this has already been answered, search didn't bring anything up for me...
Is there an app out there that will let me change the voicemail number? I have a Virgin Mobile Optimus V, and they've removed the menu entry under Call Settings to change the voicemail number. My hope is that there is an app out there which can do this, much like how you can enable tethering with an app, even though VM disabled that menu entry.
I'd like my Google Voice calls to go to GV voicemail. If I ignore the call, it goes there. If I expressly cancel the call, it will go to Virgin's mailbox, which I am guessing is because the internal number for the voicemail is set to that.
Thanks in advance!
Me too!
I too would like to know the answer to this question!
It would seem this is the only down fall of this amazing deal!

Voicemail password setup in MIUI dialer

Does anyone know how to apply the voicemail password in a MIUI ROM?
When I got my first VM with this rom it said I didn't have a voicemail number saved on my sim card. I figured out how to add the VM number in the settings and I can now dial my VM at any time by pressing and holding 1. But it keeps asking for my password.
None of my other phones ever required a VM phone number to be manually entered let alone requiring a password each time I call... including my iPhone 3gs on Tmous and all other roms I've installed on my sensation
how did you figure out how to add your voicemail numbers?

Click to collapse
The easiest way...
open up the dialer, tap the options key, settings, in Call Settings go down to Settings, Voicemail settings, Voicemail number... add your telephone number including area code.
I cant remember how to get to the Call Settings from the main Settings screen...
haven't been able to bypass the password entry either.
