Lag Lag Lag - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Last day i connected a usb device to copy some files to my one plus one using OTG cable . Selected all the files and created a new folder in internal memory and pasted all the files . In the end it showed operation failed in root browser and other file managers like es and astro force closed. Later i copied all the files using pc and now the problem is there is always a usbdisk showing in file manager and there are 2 storage folders also . The device has become extremly slow after that and even playing some video files of 640 resolution the device hungs up . When i checked the pendrive it was having 3 viruses in it and i removed it . Now my doubt is y my device is this much laggy ? (did a dirty flash of my current rom , internal memory has 40gb free ) is it affected with the same virus which was on that pen drive ? if so how can i remove it ?

[Q] Internal Memory Card issues

Okay, I'm sorry if this should be in another forum, but I figured the minds in develpoment would have a better answer.
I have a G Tablet, running TnT lite 2.0.0 + 2.0.3 Sup, Launcher Pro, ES File Manager. I was trying to load some files onto the internal SD card using a standard USB connection to my laptop. It connected fine, I used the 'Mount SD Card' option that popped up in the notification section, and it appeard on my laptop fine.
The problem comes that I know the file structure of the External SD Card, Internal SD card, and System sections. So I KNOW I was looking at the Internal SD Card. I copied my files and deleted a txt file that was at the root of the card. Once I properly unmounted the card and checked it using ES Filemanager, none of the changes took place. My new files gone, and the deleted file still there and readable. So I pluged it back in, and the laptop shows the new files are where they should be and the txt file still gone. WTH?!?!
If I load the files the External SD (by removing it and moving them using a seperate SD reader), then transfer the files to the internal using ES File Manager, it works fine. I don't get it.
Okay, used the refresh option in Filemanager, nothing. Rebooted, now I can see the new files, but they have a 0 byte size. ??

Did you 'eject' the disk in Windows before unplugging the cable? Windows has been known to cache writes up and not perform the actual disk open until you eject or stop the device from the icon in the system tray. It caused me to lose some data on a jump drive, so ever since I make sure to force Windows to flush the cached operations by ejecting and waiting for it to tell me it is safe to remove.
The problem is 2.03. USB storage mode was broken with 2.03 and you will probably also notice some installed apps have vanished (another issue with 2.03).
Install 2.04 or the new and awesome 2.20. Both fix the problems. 2.20 is just as fast, but more stable than 2.03.

Playing .mkv (samsung tabpro 10.1)

Hi all,
When i put mkv files on external micro sdcard by a usb to microsd adapter.
The mkv files dont play on mxplayer on my samsung tabpro.
But when i use kies software from samsung and put the files by connecting the samsung tabpro directly to my pc.
The files come under DCIM/Camera/mkvfiles on the microsdcard the they play with mxplayer.
Just to let people know here.
Seems very strange huh.
I wanted to buy and still going to if all works on mxplayer.
But i search really hard why my mkv files did not play on my samsung tabpro.
Any reason why i need to use samsung software to put files on the microsdcard to play mkvfiles.
greetings

Hi,
This is very strange because storage location does not affect playback at all.
If you unplug USB connection immediately after copying file, file can be corrupted because file may still being copied by Windows USB driver or Windows file system. Use "Remove device safely" menu on the Windows notification bar area. It will ensure file buffer being flushed.

It's due to the android restriction introduced on Kitkat onwards. It prevents the third party applications from directly writing on external sdcard. They can ony write in their respective data folder in sdcard. If you have rooted device then you can fix it by downloading a simple application. Else you have to use Samsung file manager.

As @bleu8888 said don't unpulg the usb device during copy.
Sometimes background process may still copy. Before unplug the usb test the copied file is whether playable or not. If you are still unable to play check the hash values of both files (like md5 or sha1) to ensure the file integrity. Most of the latest file managers like es, Fx can do this. If it doesn't match there should be some problem on your samsung file manager.
Hi,
I think its indeed a read and write problem.
Going to have a look into this.
Maybe root if i find more info about it.
Thx

I do have kitkat with same restriction.
Other apps can't write in microsd in my device too. I am also using samsung file manager to copy any files to microsd card. But, I can play everything whatever I have.
If you look at your case, other then it's data folder mx player can't write anywhere. Even mx player can't write in DCIM folder. But, it's playing well when you copy through kies means your file is complete. It seems that when you coping from file manager it's getting corrupted or not completely copied.
To copy files there is no need to use kies. When you connect in mtp mode your device will be listed as media device. If you open that it will show both internal & external sd. You can copy to any folder.

Indeed no need for kies.
The issue seems more my sdcard itself.
I have a couple 64gig class10 sandisk here.
Restriction from pc to tab is very bad. But if i use cardreader seems like i can write on the card again.
But i have probs with 64 gig sandisk very strange.
Its like person above said movies are like not fully written on de sdcard.
But I realocated the partion on itand formated it now it seems ok.
So Sdcard was like 59gig partion and 3gig other partion and i scrap and made it only 1 partition in total seems it write much beter now.
greetz
ps sorry for bad english

[Completed] [Q] Samsung GT-N8010 file copy question

good morning all!
i have a Samsung 10.1 GT-N8010 that i am running 4.4.2 on (updated via kies and rooted). it has a 128gb microsd card in it for storage (which by the way was seen in full capacity when inserted)
i have a topo GPS program on the tablet (Atlogis Topo USA) that i had previously purchased for my mega and note 3 phones. works super. when i first purchased the program , i went on and downloaded like 3gb of high res map tiles on my phone. i copied the map tile files off of the phone in the past, in hopes that id be able to copy them BACK to another device in the future (such as the N8010) and not have to go thru re-downloading them again as i live in the hills and while i do have DSL , it is SLOW SLOW SLOW, almost as bad as the frickin days of dial up sometimes.
i can get the files copied off of my computer onto my SD card, BUT i cant figure out how to copy them from the SD card TO the devices root. when i go thru the file explorer, i can explore the root of both the SD and device of course, and when im on the SD card, i can copy the files, but when i then go to the root of the device, there is no option to "paste" the files. (i am running 4.4.2 and have already set the permissions to fix the previous update problems)
of course i can copy the file set over to the device via USB cable plugged in to the device and my computer, but when i try to do that, the file set is so large that its like an 8-10 hour file copy.
any way to copy files like this directly from the SD card to the devices root?
John
Im not sure which file manager app you're using but I suggest one with root browser capabilities. You can move anything with those. Search play store for one
downloaded solid explorer. looks like it will work. copying the files to the SD card now , i will keep you updated.....

many problems with files ( copy to pc , copy to usb otg , copy to sd card )

Since day 1 I have many problems with files in redmi note 6 pro
- no third party app have access to SD Card ! even if I gave it a permissions to storage
for ex. I can't extract a rar file to SD Card !
- another problem is when copying a file a usb flash drive using OTG it keeps copying but once I remove the usb drive ( even with safely remove ) and connect it to any other device (or even my device) I find out that there is no files were copied !
- finally , when I connect my phone to PC some folders doesn't show all files and even if I copy a folder it doesn't copy all of the contents ! although it shows all the files in file explorer on my phone but not on PC
for ex.
I had a folder of videos with size 4GB but it was shown on PC as 1.5GB but the others are missing !
any help how to fix all those problems !
my device runs on android 8.1 , MIUI 10.2.2.0
those problems not only on Redmi Note 6 pro some of my friends also face it with many different devices but all are Xiaomi !
any help ?

Adoptable Storage Android 8.1 ! J727P

I stumbled upon this . I'm rooted majisk , xposed. I've been tweaking rom trying to unthrottle new Boost data cap. Well was in root explorer and removing write permissions for a couple of folders like services.odex and tcmclient.jar . Also had found .XML about storage and it had set force adoptable = false . Well I changed to true . Phone would boot up but stay at that screen before coming on .
I restored a twrp backup . Well I'll post pictures . I have this little sd / micro sd device that plugs into bottom of phone , shows up as otg I usually use ES file explorer to open it .
Well today what I did different was I had it connected and I unmounted my 256 sd card . Well when I scrolled down from top to bottom it read New USB drive , tap to set up . I clicked on it and it had option to format as portable or internal ! So I switched them around I wanted to save my data on 256 . So put my 128 sandisk in sd slot . When I went into storage settings just same old format as portable. When I scrolled down though it said New SD card detected . It gave me option to format as internal !
So not sure if it had something to do with tweaking .jar files or if it was just unmounting sd while otg was connected . I'll experiment on an A2005U android 10 later . I read on some site you couldn't do this .
