I've uninstalled a stock app (Bluetooth Share) and was wondering if I could get some help putting it back? I know...should have made a backup...
Edit: Found a copy github*com/acheron1502/android_vendor_BLU_BLU_PURE_XL/tree/master/proprietary/system/app/Bluetooth
many thanks to archeron1502 for his hard work with the blu pure xl

Hello, I am new to the whole Rom thing. I did not make a backup of the bloatware ie. amazon, skype, cityid and now I can not update to 2.2.1. Any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks
I dont have the link right know... (on the phone and not the desktop) but if you do a google search for droid x default apps or something similar, I think u can find some with a dump of all the .apk files. If no one gets back to you on this quickly, send me a pm and I can try to find the link on my computer and will repost it for you.

Hi
I am migrating from a Desire to a Desire S and I'd like some advice.
Can anyone tell me if there is a simple way to transfer bookmarks from one Android phone to another? I'd rather not install an app if possible so I'm hoping that I can browse to a file storage area.
Also is there an easy way to transfer the list of remembered wifi spots between Android phones? I'm not expecting that the passwords would be transferred just the list.
Lastly, is there a way to transfer my Locale settings?
Thanks in advance
Update 24th April: I've transferred my bookmarks and backed up my sms (at least the ones I wanted to keep) - simple enough but notes, recognised wifi spots, etc are still "trapped" on my original Desire.
Also i'm not interested in rooting my phone - so please don't suggest anything that requires a rooted phone. Cheers
No advice is I guess sometimes the best advice one person can give to another being

Backup your settings with Google and import it on your desire s. You will see what u get back otherwise search in the data partition
what about Transfer data app?

Thanks but I'm not sure what you mean by "back up your settings with Google..." I looked through my original Desire and despite that could not find the "backup" feature that is so frequently referenced.
If you can advise on how to access the data partition, I'd appreciate it.

Hi,
After rooting my device is getting detected in various apps like ROM manager, Rom toolbox and even when sending force close report as HTC Vision instead of Alcatel ot-890d. Should I be worried? Is there any way I can benefit from this?
Thanks

This is on purpose. The HTC is much more common then your Alcatel. You will get a lot more compatible apps in google market with that.
Thanks. After I posted this I checked my settings and found model name in about section had turned to htc vision.

Can I flash recovery from htc vision? Do U think it'll work?

No.... just because the phone's build.prop has been changed to trick the market does not mean you can do shenannigans meant for other devices.

Hi there. I have a one month old HTC One X with AT&T, and I just noticed a line of dead pixels on my screen. I'm planning to return it and ask for an exchange. I was wondering if anyone could point me to backup apps that don't require root. From what I've read, app data backup without root is not possible, but can I backup stuff like my messages, my homescreen layouts, which apps I have installed, etc, without root? And is there any way to restore all these in one go?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi,
Having installed and tried a couple of custom ROMS I have now realised that an increasing number of apps wont work because I am rooted.
I have tried downloading Hide My Root from the market but it doesn't really work very well.
Can I unroot fully without returning to stock ROM?
Do I have any other options - I think I would rather return to stock ROM rather than having apps that I want to use not work.
TIA

Venom ViperC2 5.1.0, is the best ROM I have ever found for HTC ONE S.
Please give it a try. All the Apps work on it.

You can give a try if you are in CM based ROM.
1) Revert your CID
2) Return to S-on
3) Relock bootloader
4) If you get ROM loading issue then flash boot.img from fastboot.
[not tested but should work]
