Does anyone know how to restore wifi to original factory settings or make it work after it stopped working (when just a few developer settings were changed)?
In shortcuts or settings, it can still be switched on/off, but it does not find any networks anymore and no data gets transferred.
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks

That's been fixed by flashing (one by one with fastboot) the .img files (extracted from the respective version's update.app files).
(It did not work by updating using the update.app files in the dload folder.)

I am at a loss. I just updated my ROM from BlackDiamond 1.1 to BlackDiamond 2.0. The 1.1 has NetWizard that auto configured my network settings, but 2.0 does not. Now I am trying to track down just a install for that program and I can not seem to find it. Can anyone help me out.
here it is
thanks for it, worked great.

Didn't work for me at all... I installed it, soft reset over and over again and nothing. I tried removing it and then reinstalling it to storage card and then soft resetting numerous times and still nothing.
It does not show up under Programs, personal settings, system settings or connection settings.
Is there another version anywhere that I could try?

its under settings/connections/, then click 'network wizard", choose your country and service provider afterwards wait for it to finish then just follow the prompts, flashed a lot of roms and worked all the time
Sorry, but I've been searching everywhere to try and fix this but ive hit a wall. I have an AT&T MB865 and could not seem to change the APN settings or add any new APNs. The AT&T stock loaded APNs have been locked and uneditable. There was and still is NO OPTION to add a new APN.
I had trouble rooting this phone but just managed yesterday after doing a factory reset and used the one click root. I've installed root explorer, titanium back up, apn backup and restor, busy box along with super user and can get to the directories well enough.
i tried using APN back up & restore, but couldn't seem to add an APN or delete and APN even after using super user to give it system application status. I still get the error message stating that Android 4.0+ does not allow 3rd party applications to access APN settings.
In any case, i thought i would try to manually delete the existing APNs and managed to get into data > data> com.android.providers.telephony > databases and deleted all of the files in there per another thread. The APNs disappeared but there is STILL NO OPTION to add a new APN.
I am trying to load Straight Talk APNs in order to get data access. I can make calls, send regular texts, but cannot use data or send MMS.
Any help in getting proper APNs added and data working would be greatly appreciated.

AT&T version MB865
ICS 4.04 OTA

My phone is losing credentials for any WiFI network that I connect to since I've upgraded to Android 4.4.2.
Key points:
- It will remember the credentials until I restart the phone or turn WiFi on and off.
- It permanently remembers the passwords for all networks that were saved before upgrading to 4.4.2
- Despite disabling App Sync and Backup+Restore, the problem persists
- I do not have a /data/.../wifi/wpa-supplicant.conf file
- My phone is not rooted
I've been searching around and have yet to find any solutions that work for me, has anyone else with this problem had any luck solving it?
Sometimes, upgrades don't play well and you need to factory reset the device to get browner things working again. There may be something else you can do, but I would always recommend resetting after an ota update.
You can backup your user apps and data with helium. Copy sdcard to PC.

Delete /data/misc/wifi and /data/misc/dhcp and reboot.
If that doesn't work, factory reset.

/data is empty when viewing it with my unrooted phone using OI File Browser.
You'll either have to root your device to delete the folders or do a factory reset.
I seem to be missing the wifi calling settings in my phone. (it should be above the Wifi Settings, but it is not). I tried following the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/quick-guide-enabling-hidden-features-t3087506
and added the xml line in features.xml (i added it inside the features block, i'm sure i did it correctly). restarted the phone, and nothing. I am stock rooted, using ping pong root, with no modifications. (i only needed root to restore google authenticator, which i can't be bother to reset all my totp tokens..a bit annoying there's no way to restore them)
anyway, any reason why i don't have the option to begin with? or why i can't seem to enable it?
Any help would be amazing. thanks.
I had the same problem a long time ago. Didn't have the option and was messing with the features. xml folder to no avail. What I ended up doing was flashing stock firmware and basically copy and paste the XML file to my backup. That worked for me
Hi, I installed the Custom ROM LineageOS on my Samsung S5 phone. I have also added the GAPPS. The Wifi works but cannot get the data to work. I created a new APN and entered the settings carefully but didn’t work. I have tried restarting, removing the battery, removing and re-installing the simm card, deleting the cache from TWRP recovery, but nothing works.
There is a preferred network type and its set to LDE/WCDMA by default so not sure if this needs changing. Someone in a video also suggested changing Bearer inside the APN to include LTE and keep unspecified ticked too. But no luck.
I don’t want to have to go back to the Stock ROM as its slow and sluggish and full of bloatware. The phone runs like lightning using the custom ROM.
There was another thread that suggested downloading the GiffGaff App and let the App download and configure the APN settings automatically. I downloaded the app but can’t see any option for this.
Any ideas?
I had this problem before on other ROMs, usually removing and putting the SIM back in worked for me
edit: sorry- I didn't read the part where you said you removed and put back the SIM
