Hi guys today I was using my nexus 5 and suddenly it turned off ... then about 10s it was dead , I was holding power button but nothing .
After 10s it went to bootloop -> google logo -> rom logo (for about 1s) and it was repeating that .
I was pushing power button rapidly and I got it to turn on somehow .
So I m asking now is it my power button faliure ?
It could be a power button issue. You could open up the phone, remove the motherboard, and clean around the power button in case there was a build up of debris. Also, with the motherboard out off the phone, quickly press and release the power button quickly using more pressure than normal. I did this on my nexus 5 and it cured the reboot issue.
What rom are you on and what version, and try clean cache.

Hi,
I'm running the latest stock android kitkat on my nexus 5. I recently powered off the device and it won't power back on.
When I powered off the battery was at about 90%.
I have tried:
- Holding down the power button for 3 seconds
- Holding down the power button for 30 seconds
- Holding down the power button for 90 seconds
- Holding down the power and both volume buttons
- Powering up the device while it's plugged in to USB
None of these seem to result in my Nexus 5 powering up.
I had this previously happen new years day. I decided to go home to try to fix the problem when my phone magically started working when I hit the power button for the regular amount of time.
The power button has no problem turning on and off the screen when the phone is powered up.
Anyone have any tips on how I can get this thing powered up?
I have a feeling I'm going to have to RMA this phone.

Yeah most likely you are going to have to RMA, but before that just try this. Try connecting your phone to a wall outlet and don't press anything and wait for 10 seconds. Do you see a battery icon on the screen? If not, then unplug it, hold both volume buttons, then plug it back in. If your phone actually does work, you should get to the boot loader screen.
Hello,
I have problem with my S6 (64GB) with Back Button. From yesterady it has been pressing this button continuously . Before that it was like once or twice a day, but I didn't care. Restart is not a solution. I tried to wipe cache memory, but it didn't work as well. The phone is completely undamaged, buttons are clean, 2months old, from mobile operator. First day after purchase I had to repaired it, because it was overheating and they replaced motherboard. Do you know guys some solution?

Thank you.
Have you tried booting into safe mode? That will disable any 3rd party apps that might be causing the problem.
1 Power the device off
2 Press and hold the Power key.
3 When the device vibrates; release the Power key and immediately hold down the Volume Down key
4 Keep pressing the Volume down key until the device boots up completely.
5 If successful, Safe Mode will appear on the device screen in the bottom left corner.
I have exactly the same issue. Is your knox 0x1?
Had that problem, software problem you need to restore the firmware, download your phones software from sammobile.com and flash it to your phone and it should fix the problem.
I got a samsung a10e the back button keeps backing up by itself how can i fix it
Hi guys!
I face a problem with my n5 i m on stock android 6 so yesterday suddenly my phone switch off. It took me over 3 h to understand that.when i press the power button to unlock or lock to sleep mode my phone (2 to 3 times ) switching off. I dont consider that a factory reset will help because i m running this software over a month without problems.!!!anyone can help me?? I m desperate!!! Thanks..
The same thing is happening to a phone I have on my desk. I can be using it and it will suddenly power off if I touch the power button. I thought it might be a battery problem but that's not it because I swapped in a working battery. I also tested the power button contacts with a multimeter and the contacts seem fine which leads me to believe the problem is inside the power button and the button needs to be replaced.
2 months before my display got faulty and replaced it , now just 2 days before the power button just moved inside and now i cant press it with my hands , only with some pin or needle like something is needed to turn on the device , is this because of any issues with the new display inserted or any issues with the power button only ??
Hi guys,
TLDR; Phone won't turn on, notification light flashes red once on power up (sometimes), black screen all the time. :crying:
So my brother has asked me to try and fix his Nexus 5 as he isn't tech savvy at all.
So the problem he is having started when he tried powering the phone on and it started to boot up and then started resetting iteself.
It now will not power on at all and doesn't seem to be on at all.
When holding the power button, it will sometimes flash the notification light (at the bottom) red for a second or two. No other response from the phone.
I've tried holding the power button for up to 5 minutes with nothing. I've tried holding the V+ key with the power button for a few seconds up to a few minutes then tried pressing the buttons expected to get to a reset menu with no indication of anything.
I'm kind of lost and was wondering if anyone has had these issues before and know what is the best issue to try and repair?
Thanks
It could be a faulty power button which is a common issue with the Nexus 5.
Remove the logic board, clean around the power button with isopropyl alcohol, dry it, quickly press and release the power button using more pressure than normal, re-install, and try to boot.
You could also try this: hold volume + button and connect the phone to a computer using a USB cable.
Thanks audit13, I'll give it a shot and shout back if it works
