Edit LTE bands? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

I have Samsung Galaxy S6 edge SM-G925P (Sprint verizon) it's already unlocked for GSM.
Now, I want to use LTE - but the model isn't support Band 3 and 7. Can I make them available? How?

You need to root or get your msl code from sprint. From there you have a few more possibilities.

I am rooted + have msl code. guide me please.

Enter ##data# on your keypad. Hit edit and enter msl. There are menus for LTE.

Maybe the cdma version can't access those bands.

I heared there is a way to hack the lte band settings and enable all bands, but how?

Read this thread. Might have to upgrade to a different baseband http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/help/sm-g920v-capable-lte-band-3-5-7-t3115021

could baseband change to g925v (that support Band 3) solve my problem?

Rec'd update to 5.0 on ATT Note 3 today

I just received an OTA update on my AT&T Note 3. I now have Android version 5.0, broadband version N900AUCUEOC1, kernel version 3.4.0-4335446. Surprised. I heard the Note 4 was getting 5.0 today, but I didn't expect it on my Note 3.
Any idea how to get the update if I'm not on my original carrier (AT&T) ? I am not sure they will push it over Cricket even though they own it!
Yeah baby

Don't ye worry, here are some XDA basics:
1. The big Android OEMs make several versions of their phones which have different bands and 3/4G frequencies. That is not the only difference. I have a Note 3 N9005, you have Note 3 N900A. They look the same, feel the same, made by the same OEM.
When you begin tinkering with their software, you should consider them as ABSOLUTELY different devices. Your variant is rooted in a different way from mine. Your phone supports different ROMs from mine.
That's why for Samsung phones (especially) there are 4 to 5 actual forums, one for the international version(s) of the phone, and one for each US carrier. And the Verizon and AT&T Samsung phones usually have locked bootloaders and are difficult to achieve even root access on them.
2. Read before you flash anything, read the WHOLE threads.
And when you think you're ready for action, read it all over again.
THEN consider doing stuff.

LTE only?

Has anybody been able to do LTE only? I I have weak LTE where I am but it still is faster than hspa here but it keeps defaulting to slower speeds.
Your phone decides when to switch over to 3G or lte. Depending on the connection.
I think he's referring on how to do it through the service menu. On the Nexus 5 it's *#*#4636#*#* not sure about Samsung phones.
*#2263# Choose LTE all bands. Been using it on my note 4.
Neither of these short codes do anything on the S6. Does anyone know a working one?
*#2263# works for me

A lot of these codes are not working on the newest baseband, looks like Samsung restricted them. They are only working if you download the PhoneInfo app and launch the code with SuperUser (root).

If you root and flash XtreStoLite rom there is a LTE only mode.
Hi,
I'm on the latest Xtrestolite v2.3 and I do not have the LTE only options in the settings (i only have 2G only, 3G only, 2G/3G and LTE/3G/2G), does it work for you ?
The *#2263# isn't working either.
EDIT : I found out how to fix the bug : if you are using your mobile in Frech you have to switch to another language to make the LTE only option appear.
I'm on 2.3 and I have that option, in mobile networks

easy way to add is to write in your others.xml or feature.xml this >>>
<CscFeature_Setting_CustNetworkSelMenu4> LTEONLY </ CscFeature_Setting_CustNetworkSelMenu4>

Right, thanks davebugyi, you are right and I am aware of that. That is why I was wondering what Baseband version PunishedSnake and Djamog had in mind. I would like to know which commercial firmware exactly includes *#2263# features working, so I can downgrade/upgrade mine, on SM-G920F.

This works great, thank you for the answer.
Do you know any other network forcing related features and how to enable them? Menu *#2263# I am trying to access, similar to *#0011# (and Q0) in previous models, includes Band locking and probably more.
Thanks,

Update to 6.0 and keep unlock???

Have any of you with a Sprint Note 5 been able to update to Android 6.0 and keep your unlock? I got my phone unlocked today by onlineunlocks and im using it with cricket and dont want to update if im going to lose my unlock and possibly not be able to get it unlocked again.
Updating to 6.0 should have nothing to do with sim unlocking. Rooting yes. You should be fine.

I'm pretty sure you will lose lock because of the way it formats the phone partitions.
It really depends on how it was unlocked...... I'm unlocked and updated everything went well. I'm unlocked and on AT&T with LTE.

How about gsm unlock done for sprint note 5 using UICC method?
Will it remain unlocked?

Flash VoLTE onto a 930f S7 variant while living in the US?

I've heard many reasons as to why the Exynos processor in the Galaxy S7 is better than its Snapdragon counterpart (most important one to me being the better DAC), so I want to upgrade from my iPhone 5 to that version.
I also want to switch to T-mobile One, and have recently found out about VoLTE and Wifi Calling. Is there a way to flash a rom that supports both those features onto the Exynos version? I've seen threads on this forum discussing doing it in other countries and with other carriers, but I was wondering if it'd be possible to do it in the US and still be able to use my phone with T-mobile?
Thank you for your help
I don't believe that would be possible. The Exynos version uses a different modem that doesn't support wifi calling (not sure if that's also the case for VoLTE).
