[Completed] S4 Verizon Motherboard Swap - XDA Assist

Here is my issue. I got my "new" SCH-i545 (Verizon) and the last user updated it to the latest (Lollipop, OF1) which cannot be downgraded and there are not any root methods from what I heard from. If I was to find another Verizon S4 that hasn't been upgraded (in worse condition and cheaper of course), could I swap the motherboards and then unlock the bootloader with everything still working on the phone (camera, screen, antennae etc.) I want to find one old enough that I can use loki on and unlock to bootloader for cyanogenmod.

Which ROM I should use if i want it to work flawless with AT&T sim? I have Hyperdrive now and its awesome but I keep getting international issues with calls. Its annoying really. When I receive calls they show up funny. I dont believe my APN is the issue. But another question what if I use odin to flash the AT&T stock on this one?
Thank you in advance for your help

The only Roms that are designed to work with your device are as listed in Verizon Galaxy S4 Forum Rom List.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon#romList
If you really want to see which of these roms work with ATT Sim then you may pose the question in
Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Only as a last alternative, you may post a very specific question regarding the International issues and incorrect Caller id on ATT Forum AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Make sure to explicitly mention you have the Verizon variant.
Last but not the least, DO NOT flash ATT S4 firmware to your device via ODIN. This will hardbrick your phone and make it completely unusable.
If you cant tell im new to this forum. I appreciate the promptness and will do so. Thanks again

[Completed] I need help getting root access on my Galaxy S4 (SM-S975L)

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 SM-S975L from Walmart and used towelroot. It worked but only temporally. Then my phone messed up and I took it back to Walmart to replace it. I got the same exact phone again but towelroot says that it doesn't currently support my device. I've tried everything out there and was just wondering if anyone could/would help. Thanks

Hi, thanks for using XDA Assist!
Unfortunately, for your device model, the only root option I find is towelroot.
However, please post your question here:

The experts there may know another solution.

[Completed] Galaxy S4 SCH-R970C firmware questions

So Samsung has released Android 5.0 for all the Galaxy S4 units except for one. The SCH-R970C, which is the Cricket variant of the model.
This is extremely annoying for me, considering I have that model Galaxy S4, and would love to get it updated.
Long story short, can an SCH-R970 official samsung rom work on an SCH-R970C? The SCH-R970 is the US Cellular variant.
I don't know if Samsung/Cricket will ever release it for my model, I've been waiting 6 months for it to land on my phone, but I get nothing.
I have tried rooting and putting non-samsung roms on my S4, but there have always been problems no matter what rom I install. Most have battery issues, with it draining much too fast. Others have wifi issues, but that's probably because the rom didn't support my specific model.

[Completed] ATT Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910A Repair help

I have a bootloader locked ATT Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Model SM-N910A. While trying to downgrade from Lollipop to KitKat 4.4.4, i ended up wiping the phone clean & now ODIN does not work. Got sick of trying to resurrect the phone. Since i can't root this piece-of-****, i just wanted KitKat 4.4.4 on it. Can anybody recommend me a repair shop that can restore this phone. I live in Sterling Heights, MI. After sinking $412 on this phone, I'am not willing to spend anything more than $80 on this, though.
Thanks & Regards
Cecilia

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble. but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you. That said, iXDA is a global community and might not be the ideal way to find find a local repair facility in your specific area.
Good luck!

[Completed] I desperately need xda members advice for which phone I should keep, please.

I have a lease on a Galaxy J7 from MetroPCS, J700T1 and still owe about $300 over the next few months. I rooted, forgot and shut off OEM Unlock so the phone was binary frp locked. After flashing the stock Rom thanks to I believe his name is Paco, the same one who taught the rooting method for this phone, my software and binary are official but the warrantee is voided.
During the time that my phone was binary frp locked, I went to Best Buy and bought the Moto G4 Plus 16GB Unlocked for $250. It was only tonight that I flashed the stock rom for the J7. My question is whether I should return the Moto G4 or return the J7 and opt out of the lease. I want to know which phone is the one that is better to keep, given the state that the J7 is in, comparing it the Moto G4. Which phone is better to hold onto? I am going to get rid of one. I don't want to use a phone that is rooted for now so I never attempted to root the Moto G4. Please can you give me your answer based on what I did to the J7, the specs and hardware and brands of both phones. I am asking XDA members because I feel I will get the best answer here. Thank you and happy Halloween.
