I remember being able to achieve temp root on the Verizon Note 4 using king root, then using supersume to remove all remnants of kingroot minus supersu. The root would last until the phone was rebooted. You were able to do most things except modify system files. Anyone think this would work on our Note 5? Trying to find the thread to link here.

I tried it, however KingRoot and Kingo Root both failed...

There is no way to currently bypass Knox. If you want to softbrick your phone .........

I have the verizon version, and i wanna root, but its a hand-me-down s3 so i only have a lg usb. Is it safe for me to root without trouble? I've heard some people have had problems...
Samnsungs can be rooted by using the framaroot apk that can be found here on xda. No pc required. It's what I used to root my galaxy. It creates the Su binary and installs supersu automatically. Just install and run the exploit and your rooted.

Framaroot does not work for this phone model, you have to use casual or flash a stock rooted image.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.

You should be fine to root, a Samsung cable is preferred but any good quality USB cable should do the job.

You can use any cable as long as it is supported. I unrooted my phone not too long ago and then rerooted with my old LG charging cable (because my Samsung one charged too slowly).
It works on non-Samsung cables. I used the one from my car charger when I had to redo the whole process while on the road a couple of months back.

Kinda feel like a usb cable is a usb cable. I usually use a short cable when I am on my laptop, no problems!!

My sister bought a michley 900 used from BrandsMart not too long ago and she tried to install Constant Guard from comcast and it won't allow saying it's rooted. I've not rooted it nor has my nephew and they aren't versed enough.
I've found no root method online. There isn't a super user app installed and I've run a root checker and a have fx file explorer with root add on installed and can edit at the root level.
Could it be that this tablet isn't locked down? Any ideas?
So no one has any info? Wrong thread? A slight push I the right direction?

Try framaroot. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
If that doesn't work then try the tool in my signature.
It comes with a root command.
most of the time with these generic tablets they come prerooted, i dont think you can remove it (unless you know what your doing) but if you want to take ahold of it download superSU or Superuser from the martket.
It's rooted already. I'm trying to figure out how.

like i said just install superSU or Superuser from the play store.
Our posts came in seconds apart. I have since installed SuperSU. She was trying to install some security suite apps available through her Internet provider and it wouldn't let her due to it being rooted.

like i said i dont think theres a way to unbrick it on generic tablets, i think you can try to unroot via superSU or Superuser, one of them has the option i think and you might be able to find a apk for security suite that gets rid of the root checker or whatever its doing.
My MB865 says theres no root. There was when I was running stock root then I installed SlimKat and now I don't have root. can't seem to get root either.
Try towel root it works on most phones

Hi. I have 5.1.1. Call me crazy, but I don't care about tripping Knox. If I root with PingPong, will it otherwise mess up my phone? Or should I *never* root with PingPong once on 5.1.1?
Baseband C0F8
Not new to rooting, just some info I need before I attempt this.
Thank you in advance!
