Skin for metal frame - Galaxy S6 Accessories

Hey guys,
I'm going to go caseless witn galaxy s6.
I have front ans back protectors, but I can't find a suitable skins for the side metal frame. I looked at bestskinsever, but it peels off rather too easily. And their customer service is subpar (sends wrong skin, then acts like they're doing me a great favour sending me the correct skin). Ghost armor is no better.
dBrandz skin is amazing, but lacks frame protection.
Can anyone recommend a durable skin for the side frame?
Thanks a bunch

Cygnett Carbon Fiber Case

Surprised I haven't seen any reviews of the Cygnett cases. I've seen other Cygnett cases on previous phones and always wanted to try them out.
The case is a simple snap on design. The Carbon Fiber back looks really sleek and you can tell it is of high grade carbon fiber material. My favorite part of the case is actually the sides. The sides are of a matte finish that really enhances the grip of the phone. If you're looking for a real slim case, then this will be a good one to look for. The case is kind of expensive sitting at 30 dollars, but I feel the quality is worth it. I've had similar snap on cases from Ringke, SGP, and Elago, but the Cygnett case design is superior and overall the case just feels much sturdier. Also the matte finish has the best grip of any snap on case I've ever used.
If you're looking for protection, this case won't help much at all. I have dropped the phone from 5ft onto concrete and I heard a small bounce. When I looked at the phone, it was perfect, but I wouldn't rely on it.
Wow Cool
How is the lip on the device? I like that carbon fiber and their brushed aluminum one and I need to get a new case but I want to make sure that the lip is decent on the front if i place the phone face down.

The Lip is barely there. I'm talking like a 0.7mm lip over the front. The glass won't touch the ground when lied flat on its face.I even have a Mime glass protector on it and it still doesn't touch the ground.
nice casing and looks very sturdy
Does the back feel matte or glossy?

Glossy
I have the white carbon fiber version and the sides are more slippery (not matte) and the back looks like it is just woven tinsel. I would recommend getting the black version, NOT the white. I stupidly thought that it would look like the black carbon fiber, just white...

Spigen Crystal Galaxy S6 screen protector

I bought one and I'm using it.
It does not fit properly on either the front or back, like it was made using pre-release specs.
The actual PET films are a great deal smaller than the front and back. They are also very highly prone to fingerprints.
Not a quality product. Not what spigen has made a name making.
Should have bought the one that doesn't come with that film you have to place on your phone. Liquid crystal I think it's called

liquid crystal is a slim case. This is a screen protector.
My rear one from Spigen fit perfectly. The reason it is smaller is to prevent the HALO effect, which if you saw my front one that is tempered glass, you would give Spigen kudos for not making it larger and being a giant dust magnet.
I have the spigen one. .. I'm happy with it so far. .. not collecting oil. And super clear. Edit: the protector is exactly the width of the touch screen. Leaves little margin for error when applying. But i got it perfect first try as its not my first time putting one on a phone.

debating on a screen protector as well any suggestions? I was about to go with Spigen until i saw this.
Thanks for the headsup
Not going to take a pic man. Its like the image on amazon. It is exactly the width of the touch screen... not the full fromt glass panel. As it cant be with the cases rounded screen. The height goes above the camera and the bottom goes below the home button. I have zero halo effect. It feels smooth too me and not collecting oil yet. I cant tell its on unless i am looking for it. Take in mind i do have a spigen hybrid neo case on it too. The case covers the areas where the screen protector does not reach. In combination its great... now the back protector thats included does feel a bit small... but i dont care as i have case on it. And its just another layer of scratch protection... if i used my phone naked... i would be worried a little more with just this front and back protector. But for 10 bucks i got 2 fronts and one back... fits my needs and is better quality than screen protectors i have paid much more for in the past on other phones. When some glass ones come out i may switch... but for now.. its a sound 10 buck choice.
I agree with the topic starter.
The screenprotector is way smaller than the screen, front an back.
If i knew this i woudlt have bought it.
Going to search for a screenprotector that fills the whole front and back.

[Q] Case vs. Skin vs. naked

Since the S6 is very slippery but very good looking because of the glass, do you use a case because you want to be safe or do you use a skin to retain the phones thin body or you prefer it naked without anything on and around it?
Skin and Case! :good:
Definitely a case with shock absorbing properties. I'm not spending close to a grand on a glass encased phone just so it can have cracks on it.
I think the phone is gorgeous, but use a Verus aluminum bumper in order to get low drop protection and camera protection while keeping the phone mostly original looking. If it weren't for the protruding camera, I've consider carrying the phone bare. (Though I would be concerned with slippage.)
For comparison, I didn't hate the looks the of the S4, but I wasn't thrilled with them either so I put a Spigen Neo Hybrid on, which gave it a look that I liked more, while still looking like a phone and not a case. (Most people I showed my S4 to loved it and didn't realize it was a case.)
I think it's interesting that you bring this up because I asked a similar question in the "show us your case" thread, and people took offense to what I was asking. My basic question was "Do you use big UAG/Otterbox cases merely for protection, or do you prefer the look over the look of the bare phone." I guess I worded it poorly, as I mostly got defensiveness of case choices. Hopefully your thread gets better responses.
(In my photo below, the difference in screen glare and body color is only from a difference in lighting - I used different setups on different days and didn't match the screen lighting. There is no "glare" from the Verus case.)

(Sounds to me like dropping the phone is a bad idea. )
That would be the risk to not having a potentially unsightly case.
Case + skin. case to protect from falls and skin to protect from scratches
Got both the uag maverick and ash case, prefer the ash on my sapphire black s6, and the maverick on a white s6 both look crazy awesome tho
I use a Dbrand skin and tempered glass screen protector in normal days. Just bought a spigen rugged armour as I'm gonna go on a 3 day camp and I don't wanna risk breaking it.
The dbrand skin should suffice for everyday use. It protects the rear glass from cracking if I ever drop it. And the tempered glass helps with the front glass. The only thing that is unprotected in the event of a drop is my sides.
It's your choice, do you like the feel of the S6 naked? Or would you rather have a cheap piece of TPU protecting it?
Also, if you choose to go naked/skin, the chamfered edges of the aluminium is very soft so it scratches rather easily. You can get a metal bumper to help with drop and impact protection on the sides.
Case. I would consider a skin, but the extra protection is nice. No way I'm carrying this phone naked. Then again, I never carry phones naked anyway.
Dbrand black leather skin on the back, otherwise naked. I hate cases, I'd rather pay for insurance and deductible for replacement than compromise the look and feel of a phone I like.
I just use screen guard both sides it looks and feels good
I had an iron shield on it but removed it about a week ago because the aluminum bumper was killing my GPS signal. Somehow in that week time I got a scratch on my screen. Make sure to put a screen protector on too!
Going naked. I did not pay $650+ to put this in a $5 case. I want to enjoy the phone as it was meant to be. I only have a tampered glass on top and that's good enough for me.

Have a skin - slickwrap at the back, a case and a tempered glass on front.

Tampered Glass

Hey,
Im looking for a tempered glass for the z5. Any good manufacturers to look out for?
Thanks
I bought this one. Fits well, has proper cut outs.

It's fine and fits well. Not sure how a 0.9mm thick piece of transparent glass can look cheap or premium for that matter
I ordered CaseBase premium tempered glass from Amazon. However I haven't received it yet and can't use it until November.
I ordered a german brand (or at least its sold under the name "wunderglass" meaning wonder glass; made in china ofc).
The fit is ... not that great tbh. The cut outs are fine and in place, but it has too much space to the bezel of the z5. Is there a brand which produces such glass protectors with a minimal gap to the bezel?
I've tried a lot of different brands and I found none that can compete with StilGut in terms of cut, quality and durability. It's made by a German company as well [in China]. A little pricey, but well worth their cost.

Excellent! I was just earlier looking for a front + back solution. And 20 bucks for both with 2 year warranty? Pfft, that's cheap.
Spigen's glas.tr slim costs 25$ and it's just a front protector. And it's 0.4mm compared to this StilGut at 0.33mm.
I take it you've got some personal experience of these StilGut protectors?
Q: How's the, uhm, quality I guess, of the oleophobic coating on them? Longevity wise?
I've previously used UltimateShield on my One M7 and on my partner's LG G3. Our gripe with them is how shortlived the coating was.
Didn't take all that long (a little over two months I guess) for the coating to wear off inb4 smudges galore and made the glass NOT easy to clean. Of course any coating will not last indefinitely but still..
P.S. That typo in the thread title made me chuckle, guess it's time for bed...

I got the StilGut front/back kit same day as my phone (Saturday). The cut is perfect as usual. I completely forgot that the Z5 had frosted back glass and wasn't sure if the tempered glass would work but it did. Unfortunately you lose out on the grip of the new glass but until someone puts the phone through some use and report back on whether the frosted glass scratches easily or not, I am not taking chances.
anoke is the best one I have seen/used, fits perfect and has front and back. $8.88 prime

Well you could go and sand the back protector.
Sandpaper (the wet kind and with it use water to contain the glass dust, you don't wanna breath that)
A flat surface to put the sandpaper on (a mirror for example)
Tape to hold the sandpaper in place
Elbow grease
Have fun!
Start at a low grit 120 or 240 and work your way up to 600 or 1000 or even 2000 depending on the look you want.
You can get wet sandpaper in kits, that have a variety of different grit, online or from your local hardware store and so on.
I recommend Nillkin 9h+ pro.
Nillkin Amazing H+ always the best glass for all Zs!
Now available also for back, used it for previous Zs and no any single scratch, durable 9h !!!
Can I just buy a front screenprotector and leave the back?
It has a frosted glass back but wouldn't the camera would be damaged without a screen protector.
Also i can't find a brand that has front and back screen guards only front.
Sorry i am new to using smartphones.

Sorry, could not stop laughing imaging you in the train with this, so noone could read over your shoulder.
I saw some sold online, but can not post links here(sure you can find them easily) and I can not say anything about privacy screens because I do not like any screens to be applied to original one. So instead of tampered glass I also have chosen original flip case.

I bought this one and I can vouch for the quality. It has the proper cut-outs for the front camera, sensors, and speakers. I've got it wet a few times and it's definitely not going to peel off due to moisture. One of my gripes with the Z5 was that the edges make the edges a little sharp to grip, but now with this tempered glass on it feels like the glass is flush with the edges like the iPhone.

And how easy was it to fit?

Dbrand skin, some questions.

Have anyone tried DBrand skin of Note7?
And how are the edges doing? Are they peeling off?
I like the stone/concrete texture. Is it smooth/plastic feel, or like real semi-gloss concrete?
What about metal? Are the titanium strips bumpy or just printed texture?
What about wood? Or Matte?
*Extra question: Is sandstone case available for Note 7 yet?
Bump. Brah
I currently on a s7 edge dbrand skin. I would think the note 7s dbrand skin would be a little similar. I have the matte on the front and back. Fits perfectly and it wraps around the edge perfectly. My front skin actually covers up the front buttons so I can't even see them when they light up.
I have the carbon fiber back only. Fits perfect and has not peeled or bubbled at all. Fit is to the nanometer, so it took a couple tries to align it right. Follow online video instructions. Very happy with it! Carbon fiber gives it a little texture to give it some better grip. Note 7 ATT black.
Thanks guys.
I really like the concrete one. But im not sure if the grip feeling is 80% like real polished concrete or not. I dont dare to order if im not sure because order to my country is expensive AF. Couldnt find a good concrete review on YT.
Now im looking forward to the titanium ones. Does anyone know if those strips texture bumpy 3D or just printed?
I got the mahogany just to cover the back and protect from scratches. When it's out of the case the corners catch on my palm, when I had a slickwraps skin on my S7E it was a perfect fit. This isn't as smooth and you can tell the difference on the edge because it's too thick.
As for the texture it does have a smooth wood type finish. Not quite raw tree bark, but you can feel it as you pass your finger over.
