Hello all,
I recently got a Galaxy S6, rooted it, and flashed a custom ROM (XtreStoLite Odexed 1.4)
It changed my model number to SM-G925I
I got in a bootloop trying to modify the build.prop, and I'm trying to ODIN to stock, but ODIN doesn't recognize my phone!
I've tried different USB ports, different cables, different versions of ODIN, and installing/uninstalling the drivers/kies
When i get into download mode, it says
ODIN MODE
product name: SM-G920AZ (it's a cricket phone)
current binary: Samsung Official
system status: custom
reactivation lock: off
secure download: enabled
knox warranty void: 0 (0x0000)
RP swrev: 1
kernel rp swrev: 1
HELP! I want to get this phone working again! is there anything else i can try in ODIN?
Hello!

Hey guys... after 4 hours of research and try outs, I decided to open a thread about my G930F problem.
I´ve bought a used S7 and the seller said, that for "no reason" the phone boots into download mode and it´s stuck there.
Well, I thought it shouldn´t be such a big deal. Flashing the stock rom should work... but, of course... it doesn´t.
So, here´s what I tried so far:
Samsung drivers are installed
Windows does not recognize the usb device and states, that it is malfunctioning (maybe that´s normal in that state?)
Restart phone in download mode
Odin recognizes phone on com (tried different usb ports, all seem to work fine)
Tried to flash the last two stock roms (for germany, open carrier)
- G930FXXU3ESA3_G930FDBT3ESA1_DBT
- G930FXXS3ERL7_DBT
Odin "Re-Partition operation failed"
Tried to flash home_csc
Odin "All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)" -> worked!
Though, stuck on download mode after reboot
Still impossible to boot into recovery mode
Tried to flash twrp recovery (twrp-3.2.3-0-herolte)
Odin "recovery.img, FAIL!, Complete(Write) operation failed."
Found a video on youtube where some guy solves the problem by some actions in the android settings... but I can´t boot into android.
So, is that the problem? How should I solve it then? And, is that the real cause? Maybe it´s something different!?
1. Windows can´t even recognize the phone model (that goes for SmartSwitch, too btw...)
2. Is the re-partitioning and the inability to write on the phone causing the issue? Then why did the home_csc succeed? (flashed bl, ap and cp, too)
3. What ist that "Secure Download: Enabled" thing mean in odin mode? I don´t know what it is and if that is causing the error?
Additional information:
Odin Mode

Product Name : G930-F
Current Binary; Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
FRP Lock: Off
Secure Download: Enabled
Warranty Void: 0 (0x0000)

Hopefully you experienced people out there can help me out!
Thanks in advance! :good:

Ok so first of all the phone doesn't just start randomly booting into download mode so the seller is lying. They've messed about with it and messed it up.
In download mode the phone windows won't do anything with it nor will Smart Switch, it's just a rubbish program unless the phone is working correctly to start with.
Odin recognises the phone so that a good start but please ensure you have checked the following:-
1. You have the latest and correct Samsung USB drivers installed, download again and reinstall just eliminate USB drivers from the problem.
2. Download another unbranded Oreo firmware from Sam mobile or direct from Samsung servers with SamFirm Tool which is much quicker than Sammobile. Try United Kingdom BTU firmware which is unbranded western Europe and generally works on most European phones.
3. You can only download and flash Oreo firmware since Odin reports you are on Binary 3 (B:3, boot loader version 3), which means you cannot install an older firmware like nougat via Odin.
All of the above is to flash official firmware via Odin and i just want to check, by "Download mode" you mean the Blue screen?
Now normally Odin doesn't care what state the phone is in, it will just flash official firmware and the phone is like new again but it has to be the correct firmware as I've mentioned above.
Sometimes it's a little bit strange but if the phone was not rooted, Odin can't flash the firmware, it shouldn't do this but sometimes it happens. There is a way to root and flash TWRP when the phone is on Oreo firmware with Odin but it is a specific guide you MUST follow.
https://ministryofsolutions.com/2018/09/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-root-oreo-8-0.html
Once you've done this it gives you option to install a custom ROM if you are still having problems installing the firmware. Generally if you install a custom ROM you can get access to the settings you need enabled to then (if you wish) flash it back to stock.
Thank you! I´ll follow these steps now...
... and yes, that blue screen, saying "downloading do not turn off target"
I´ll report, when I´m done.
OK, now I think, I´ve found the actual problem.
Flashing the UK stock rom didn´t work.
Then I started to follow the instructions to root the phone.
When I tried to flash the twrp, it also failed. But this time Odin reported, that there is no PIT partition.
So, I guess, I have to use a PIT file to reinitialize that partition?
If so, which one should I use and should I simply flash it with the Odin "Pit" tab? I didn´t use it yet.
Yes flash pit file first
Found this one on sammobile pit file thread. I guess that's the right one, isn't it? Just want to be sure:

Didn´t work... still, the re-partition operation failed.

Flash PIT file with firmware at the same time in Odin, un-check the option to "re-partition" in Odin, no tick

Nope, that didn´t work eigther.
I have now tried using Odin 3.13 because of a new compression method, that can´t be handled below v 3.13.
But still, no chance...
If I try to use the pit file (from package or from seperate download), the error is "re-partition operation failed".
When I try to use the home csc, without any pit file, the error is "complete(write) operation failed".
Also, one thing that´s strange. After each failed attempt, I need to reboot the s7. Otherwise, odin will recognize, that the phone is connected, but gets stuck on "setup connection".
Any other ideas what to do?
Ok so the nuclear option is to try is flash the firmware in Odin with "Nand Erase" ticked. The official firmware already has a PIT file in the CSC part. but just to be sure you can flash both PIT file and firmware but make sure the option to Re-Partion IS ticked this time.

OK, tried it now with NAND erase, 5 USB cables and a different pc... all the same.
Don´t know if there is anything left, but it seems like the hardware is faulty, isn´t it?

It would be the only logical conclusion.
Just wanted to say thanks for your help, anyway.
Cheers!
I have seen multiple ppl with a FRP custom binary lock, And im a bit stuck as well so i was wondering if anyone could help me out as well.
What had happend
My mobiledata stopped working (first i tried turning mobile data off and on did nothing) when i got home yesterday i did call my provider, for a solution because maybe there was a blackout or something. Also nothing going on there. so i was thinking maybe a reboot will do the trick and sins then it has been in FRP custom binary lock .
Trying to fix it my self
I tried to flash a dif firmware on the phone using odin3 3.13.1
my phone's download screen says i have (rp swrev: b:1 k:0 s:0) model : SM-G930F
so i got from sammobile the firmware : G930FXXU1DOJ3 .... should be the correct one i think
Added the AP, Bl,CP and CSC in there corresponding slots last one it says userdata only have Home_CSC left but dont think it should be in there so i leave it empty
but odin wont continue past initialization stage for like an hour any idea's ? or did i miss something ?
Best regards,
DarkDevel
okey a small update
so i have been trying it for the last few hours and tried different orders of adding the files now the following had happened it finally got past the initialization stage it went into downloading the files now it failed at the system files and a new screen is showing when i try to power it an error has occurred while updating the device software . use the emergency recovery function in smart switch pc software but the program does not recognize my phone
when you go into download mode, what is your current build?
I have the fix for about 85% of the verizon builds.
