MotoG, media and ringer volume bug - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After Android 6.0 update, the media volume and ringer volume goes mute. MX Player like video players showing no issues, but music players have the volume issue.
The ringer automatically changes to vibrate mode, forcing me to miss important calls.
The only solution with me is to reboot, but after 1-2 hrs, it again goes silent.
Pls let me know any troubleshooting available for the known issue. Thank You

I have 2 XT1540'S on Marshmallow and neither do that and I've never seen that problem mentioned. Maybe try force closing any non system apps you've installed one at a time. Look at the permissions of any sound apps and see what permissions they're getting.

My Vip Calls does not work on Miui

Hi this app does not work on miui but should work on cm7
https://market.android.com/details?...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS52aXNpb24udmlwY2FsbHNlbmciXQ..
can anybody fix this that this works?
i get these infos from the developer:
cant test it with miui but I have heavily test it with CM7 and use it myself for 7 months.
So I dont think that ROM is problem. But on some phones problem exists and those phones want ring when you change silent to normal mode after call already started.
No developer can do anything about that .
Check if your ring volume level set to some normal level, use widget to go to silent not volume down!
If problem persiss try checking "force ring" in app with media volume set to some normal level. (when force ring is used media volume is important not ring volume!)
I found out that if i use this app to mute all without media sound then it works. but in miui normally is the media sounds also on loud but works not. any idea why? https://market.android.com/details?...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jYi52b2x1bWVQbHVzIl0.

System/Music volume is stuffed in ICS stock ROM

Hi all,
Recently updated to official ICS. I like to listen to music on my HTC, and I found a major glitch. Whenever you are playing music (with the stock player), and there is another system sound (ie SMS notification), the entire media volume of the phone dies.
For example, I am listening to music and I receive a SMS. I hear the SMS and the music stops playing. I check the music app and the slider is still moving but there is no sound. After that point there is NO media volume at all! I start a game. No sound. I start a video. No sound. Youtube. No sound. Only way to fix this is restart the phone.
If I'm listening to music and I wanna play a game. I start the game and the game has its own sound. The music stops playing and the game sounds are also now gone. Only way to get any sound back is to restart.
Basically whats happening is if there ANY other non-music sound, it ends up killing the phone's Media volume. Only way to fix is restart.
Anyone else have this problem?
Running stock ICS 4.0.3 Vodafone Australia ROM.
Sounds like a fluke - cause this doesn't really happen to anyone else. Since you're stock, the way to fix most issues is to wipe your data and start from scratch. Most people who have random issues like this do that and it clears up.
Not its not a fluke. I can reproduce it even after a factory reset. It only happens with stock player not another player I downloaded from Play.
Maybe its a problem with the Vodafone ROM.

If you can reproduce the issue with a factory reset then perhaps you could try flashing your RUU and see if the issue persists. I do know that what you're describing is NOT a wide spread problem, and that means it's either isolated to your device or to VODA's build...

I meant fluke as in only happening to you, not only happening once.
Try Grogg's advice. Hell, flash his rom, music player works great in it.
Similar issue here
I'd just like to say I have a similar issue with mine. If i am listening to music and receive an SMS or email notification then the music volume increases to match that of the notification. Pressing either volume up or down then changes it one step from the original volume.
I also have another issue with the default music player. If I am listening to music at work, press pause then remove the headphones (when leaving my desk for a short while) after plugging headphones back in when I press play the sound quality is often seriously distorted. Pressing pause then play again always seems to sort this out...
I've noticed 3 or 4 little bugs with the latest (UK) release on my phone, I keep expecting another update to sort them out but so far nothing...

[Q] Nexus 5 silent mode problem

I'm using the stock Kitkat 4.4 KRT16M Nexus 5
And I'm having following problems
1. I muted the phone with volume rocker and set the phone into vibrate mode.
2. I open a website via chrome and watch videos via MX player v1.7.20.
3. The sound still coming out from the player even after I turn all the volume down to 0.
4. In vibrate mode when I play games the sound will pop out once in a while.
Is it software problem or hardware problem? Please help.

Its not an issue at all!!!
When you set to vibrate only the "Phone and Notification" volumes drop to 0.
but the "Music and Alarm" volumes will remain the same.
You have to manually disable sounds in apps/games if you want a perfect 0 in Vibrate mode!
Hope this helps!
Hide it Pro app should help you to adjust all sounds.

[Q]Toggle Priority Modes while Music is playing

Someone please tell me there is a way to put a phone into silent, priority, etc. while music is playing. The volume button controls music volume.
Don't tell me Google expects me to unplugg my headset to put my phone on silent!!??
Nexus 5 - Lollipop
Thanks!
i would like to know this as well, had to disable bluetooth to change it...
That's one of the issues why I just downgraded to KitKat. Does anybody have a solution?

[Possible Bug] Audio jumps twice or all the way to the top, on increasing the volume

This is happening since last few versions of the free mx player, at least for me. Decreasing volume works fine. It's only when increasing, that this occurs. Also, it happens quite a lot of the time.
Increasing volume outside mx player works fine.
I'm using S7582, 4.2.2 (Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2).I use mx in companion with v4a (if that helps).

There is nothing special on changing sound volume level. It just calls a simple system function that makes volume changed. I guess v4a looks like having some issues.
As a workaround, you can make MX not touch system sound volume by unchecking Setting > Audio > System volume.
