Hello. I want to ask is it possible to run ubuntu on SGTab2? I mean pure desktop ubuntu, not mobile one, nor as virtual machine. All instructions I found deals with Nexus 7. The best will be installing Ubuntu as dualboot to Android(I'm using NEXT kernel, it supports dualboot). Does anybody know how to install it? Or maybe somebody even tried it?
Thank you for answer

I was wondering if it would be possible to run Windows phone one the OPO using multirom. I was wondering this because you can run things like sailfish and Ubuntu touch with multirom but they are both based in Linux like android is so I'm not sure if you would run Windows. Thank you for your help.

As far as I know a Windows based ROM hasn't been developed for OPO and also you can't run Ubuntu with Multirom

You can run Ubuntu with Multirom https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/wip-ubuntu-touch-for-oneplus-one.266170/
I heard that Xiaomi 4 will have Win10. Xiaomi 4 has qualcomn msm8974AC and three GB RAM and 1080P JDI screen just like my Bacon! Maybe OP will work with MS too!
Let's hope we can enjoy WIN10!
Can some one develop multirom kernel ?? I saw that Moto g 1st gen and even 2nd gen multirom manager..
We need kernel devs badly....kernels of all kinds!!! We have a VERY limited amount of anything from which to choose....not just kernels.
I might just have to consider a desktop ram update this winter...that's really the only thing keeping me from being able to compile for now.
Hi,
Besides PinePhone what other mobile phones are there available where I can install Fedora instead of android rom's?
I heard someone did it with Volla Phone + Fedora. However, I can't seem to find anything on installing Fedora on mobile phones. I can find Ubuntu Touch website where they detail whats supported, that's cool and all. But how to install it on mobiles for other linux distros such as Fedora? surely you can compile some kernel and install other linux distros like Fedora right?
Please help me understand.

pmOS may interest you. I have never seen Fedora on a phone. pmOS is based on Alpine, but anything supported by it has a better chance of running Fedora than anything not supported by it. Some of these devices have mainline kernel support, which helps a lot with getting stuff running on it.
I was wondering if is it possible to use a recent kernel in tab2.
There is a Linux system (Maemo Leste, based on Devuan (Debian without systemd)) that runs in a Motorola Droid 4, that uses a recent version of the Linux Kernel (5.11) and has the same CPU and GPU. https://leste.maemo.org/Motorola_Droid_4
Would it work in tab2?
(sorry for my english).

Why don't you try building a rom with 5.11 one ?? As you can see in the thread above, camera doesn't work due to 3.4 kernel and also wifi was an issue earlier but it is fixed now. Something or the other might not work but maybe the rom would boot up atleast !

Actually yes, we can use the 5.12 kernel i worked on but not with android, with Alpine Linux, please check https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...linux-on-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-unified.4171483 (5.12 kernel only for 7 inch tablets, the 10 inch ones have different display panel, if you have a 10 inch one want to help with making it usable with 5.12 kernel, I'll try)

Well as far as Android is concerned, in the future, we might get Android 11 with the 5.4 android common kernel. That won't be a easy job to make though.
To port to mainline (5.15 kernel or newer) is kinda possible but it requires even harder work, indicated by the fact that there is only a finger-countable few of those get to this stage, and even if you get it, some features won't work.

Making android work with mainline is going to be a task! For now we are running mainline 5.15 with PostMarketOS
