Edit: link removed - File obsolete
1.) If you are rooted, completely unroot your phone via the SuperSU app.
2.) Copy the file to internal storage and rename it to "update.zip".
3.) If you do not have the stock recovery installed, grab a copy of the stock recovery here and flash it via fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
or just boot it via fastboot
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
4.) Press power and volume up, when the lying android appears, select install update from sdcard, select update.zip, wait.
SuperSU 2.67 worked for me to root MM after the update.
Thanks, testing it now
:good:
Awesome, just installed it on my phone and it works beautifully! Thanks a bunch for the upload!
Official Version or Soak Test or....?
Thank you sir. Was waiting a long time for the Eu single sim version.
Is It an official version?
I flashed it on my stock motorola x play, the update was signed by motorola keys, so, yes it's the official eu marshmallow update.
but still no OTA, Motorola pls
Update took about an hour, but sweet. No microlags!
Sent from my XT1562 using Tapatalk
Running it now, sad to see that those small animation stutters are still in there =/
You can also sideload the package when choosing ''apply update from adb''
So people say no lags while other say they are still there. Can you please decide?
While I appreciate this and could use it. I would need to reflash my stock rom... If I were to do this surely it would make sense for me to just flash Indian version and enable dual sim. Seeing as Indian, Canadian and European all have the same build number?
I guess what I'm trying to say is... Should I convert my single sim to a dual sim?
Going to Mexico this year and would like to use my own sim and buy a local one too...
Just a heads up for anyone flashing the stock recovery. Mine was stuck at a screen that said No Command every time i booted to recovery, i tried all sorts of suggested key combos etc and here is what ACTUALLY works.
When you see the android with exclamation mark and "No Command" text all you need to do is hold power button for 5 secs or so...keep holding it and tap volume up once... Stock recovery will load.

Standard - all on the Motorola Moto X Play website. And Google. And everywhere. First thing to look for really when you are modding a phone. But...
Moto x Play is much faster now. Can't be compared with Lollipop performance.

Problem with Root/SuperSU
I followed your guide and successfully upgraded to Marshmallow - thanks.
However, when I tried to install SuperSU (2.67 Beta) via TWRP my phone stopped at the Boot Image. It won't get as far as starting the boot animation.
Fortunately I was able to restore my TWRP backup which was taken just before I installed SuperSU so no big deal.
Any ideas? Am I using the wrong version of SuperSu?

I have same issue, I've unlocked the boot loader and flashed custom recovery but the recovery doesn't work. The HTC Rom site has a Rom for the UK version o2. Can the recovery image be extracted from this.

Yes, it is possible. First open the RUU installer. Keep it open and put it aside. Then you press control and r to open up the "Run" dialog box. Type in "%temp%" (without speech marks) and hit enter. A windows should open up with a lot of folders and files. Towards the top will be folders with VERY LONG names of random characters. Check each one for a file called "Rom.zip". Open up the zip and you will find the img files, in this case, HTC's stock recovery.

yeh i'm just gonna wait on updates for kingroot, used it recently on a lenovo tablet and it worked really well. Kingroot is on version 4.1 hopefuly future versions will work with the desire 620. I'm not so much fussed about a custom recovery, i mainly want root to change the sd card permission issue that kitkat has. And also uninstall the amazon bloat ware to make more room on the internal 8GB.

HTC Desire 620 Single Sim
Hello!
I've found a way to get the stock rom on a HTC Desire 620! I found this:
FYI: my Desire 620 had no OS (blank) and TWRP 2.8 (higher versions crashed)
1. Go to: forum.gsmhosting .com/vbb/f485/firmware-needed-htc-desire-620-a-1953187/
2. Scroll to 06-27-2016, 22:54 skynett_md (thanks SkyNett for your files!)
3. Click on 'Here' in the sentence 'Here I made TWRP backups for version 1.02.401.1 and 1.51.401.5, OTA file that phone downloaded is in same google folder with backups.'
4. I downloaded the '1.51.401.5' TWRP recovery files
5. make a recovery in TWRP recovery
6. paste the '2014-12-31--18-00-33_KTU84P_release-keys' dir next to the other subdir in 'TWRP' -> 'BACKUPS' -> {subdirname}
7. Choose 'Restore' and choose the '1.51.401.5' recovery
8. If your Desire 620 is like mine, it will boot to a installed OS in spanish
9. Choose the spanisch 'backup and restore factory default'
10. The phone will boot to TWRP and the reset will be executed
11. The phone will boot to the OS and you can choose your language
12. After the install, I had some issues with the on/off button. This has been solved (software issue)
Succes!
SkyNett: thumbs up 4 u!
ADDED INSTRUCTIONS AT END OF POST*****
Got it.... Rooted, twrp, the whole deal. On 6.0. I'll post instructions in the middle of the week for everybody.
Unfortunately if you already did the other method, you are screwed for now. Because the method I used required me to flash a stock 5.1.1.

So there I am sitting on my computer last night, when a notification pops up on my V10 .... The old "congratulations, you've won first prize in an update contest!"
Lo and behold, the MM update had downloaded (at record speeds I might add).
Without wasting a minute, I navigated to the cache partition and copied it to my internal folder (see attachment), then backed it up on drive.
So... We'll just skip to the good part...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/flashfire-t3075433
I'll save you all the curiosity and let you know that I am going to look into this option to flash the OTA this weekend. I'm going to assemble a compatibility analysis and if everything checks out, I'll flash it.
Standby for carnage.
****INSTRUCTIONS
OK... I really owe everybody here an apology for taking so long to get an official instruction up. Work has been crazy this week. But I wanted to be able to take some time to do this. So here we go...
But wait... Before we even start, please for the love of God do your homework here. Please go read through chains thread about his app, how it works, etc. The interface is straight forward enough, but there are other things to understand. Please just understand what you are doing, and please verify checksums of anything you download. This is very important.
And thank chainfire, not me.
PRE-FLASH REQUIREMENTS:
1. First and foremost, you MUST be on the latest version of MM TWRP. There is a thread in the development section for this, with instruction on how to flash it, find that thread. Get it installed. This is a must. You must also verify adb and fastboot are working fully on your device.
2. You must be 100% Stock (but rooted) on the latest TMO V10 5.1 1 firmware and ROM, no custom kernels, nothing. Stock, with the exception of working root, and the latest 3.0.2.0 Marshmallow TWRP. When I say stock I mean no deodex, no system apps removed, this is an absolute requirement. The reason for this is mostly to avoid the update.zip from aborting as it does checks for presence of apps within system, etc. If you have to flash a stock ROM before doing this, don't do it as an "in line" queue before you flash the OTA in flashfire. Do it separate.
3. You must have the official OTA downloaded and on your internal SD card. Also, put the latest superSU version 2.67 on an external card, and remove the SD card from the device. The md5 for the OTA is 280ad51eb96457df097df5a088a535af9
Once you have checked those 3 boxes. You are ready to proceed.
4. Install flashfire. I was on version 32.
5. Open flashfire, grant it root
6. Go into the setting of the app, check the "Flash boot loaders" and "Freeload" box.
7. Find the OTA package, queue it up with "flash zip or ota" (small + sign at the bottom right of the screen)
It is important to note that after the flashing process completes, you will want to power off the device, and boot it into fastboot mode to unlock the boot loader.
8. Execute the update.
9. After it finishes, power off the device.
10. Boot into fastboot by holding down the volume down button, and with the button held down, plug the USB cable into your computer.
11. Once in fastboot, type the following command and hit enter:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Let it run for a bit, it is going to wipe your data.
12. After it completes (your terminal should give you a time displayed for the operation).... Unplug the phone, and yank the battery.
13. Pop in your Micro SD card (with superSU 2.67 flashable on it) then manually boot the phone into recovery mode. You are going to flash superSU again as a sanity check. I did this because if for some reason FF didn't flash superSU, and then the system wrote over your recovery during your first boot... You'd be absolutely dicked stuck on stock MM with no way of getting root back for now. I like verification...
To boot the v10 into recovery mode manually, simply have the device powered off, then hold the volume down and power button at the same time. AS SOON as you see the boot screen (not to be confused by the boot animation) released the power button for just a little less than a second then press and hold it again (keep the volume down button pressed the whole time). It may or may not be absolutely critical that you don't screw this part up. You need to get into recovery at this point to validate root being installed.
This should take you into 2 sequential screens, both asking about clearing data, select yes for both (don't worry, it won't, it will take you into TWRP.
Once in twrp... Mount your SD card in the twrp settings, and flash superSU.
Reboot afterwards. Done.
After you do this, you will be in 100% stock, rooted MM.
You might need to flash twrp again (do it the normal way, you are done with flash fire now), but root, you will have, and full functionality, you will also have, with everything working.
Dont do it. No root for MM at the moment.

Ok. Im actually interested in the outcome.
I think a lot of us are curious to see if it works. For all we know this is the solution that we've had the entire time. the question is, is anyone brave/crazy/foolish enough to try it? It might work great, but then again it could brick your phone given LG devices are untested trying this. there are several devices that were also untested that it did work on so who knows. But the app does have the capabilities to flash a stock update.zip and maintain boot root and recovery. I would think you'd have to reunlock your bootloader after flashing though in order to boot.
anyone know where exactly update.zip downloaded to? mine just downloaded and I don't see anything large in /cache

I woke up to the OTA this morning. I find it odd tho because i thought OTAs were disabled on siraltus rom. I would try FF but don't eant to risk bricking until OP shares the steps he took.
So basically, after I rooted, I was stuck in a bootloop at the "warning: bootloader unlocked" screen when I tried to boot, so I tried "factory reset" with the same result. Then I DL'd the stock xt1250 firmware and the update back to 5.0.2 (which the phone had before I F'd it up), but TWRP won't install either of them.
I can access the bootloader, and TWRP recovery, but any other option from the bootloader, or restarting results back in the "warning: bootleader unlocked" screen loop
I've seen a few places on here that there is a Brazilian version of 6.0.1 that it TWRP-able, but living in the U.S.of.A. and not being able to speak Portuguese, I was wondering if that would work for me?
thanks,
N.K.
Actually, I just tried copying the Brazilian 6.0.1 onto the phone and I got an error that "the file is larger than the device limit", so I guess that option's out!
I feel horrible right now! I just got this awesome phone, and broke it within 2 days
I really hope someone can help!
Status Update:
-I downloaded a bunch of zips... American xt1250 4.4.4 and conversion to 5.0.2 (which the phone is), Brazilian xt1225 5.0.2 and 6.0.1
-I tried RSD because twrp was obviously doing nothing.
-I ended up getting one to work, which was the Brazilian 5.0.2 with some files from another one (I forgot which, but I think the American 5.0.2 conversion) because is was lacking some key components (which it seems they all were).
-none of the others worked at all
-I have yet to test my sim card in it, but...
Problem:
-I got my phone up and running, but now the wifi wont turn on. It says "turning on wifi..." but nothing ever happens. I looked it up and found lots of stuff about wifi and bluetooth not turning on, but my bluetooth seems to turn on as it should.
Aright... I installed Bliss Rom, and it all works! The camera sucks compared to the stock camera, but I can live with that. Thanks for the help everyone! :good: :good: :good:

The TWRP-flashable 6.0.1 ROM was made by a Verizon user who lives in the U.S. It works for ALL Quarks. It doesn't matter what language you speak, you choose the language you want at the bootup screen. Just like every other version of Android.

Tons of people are using that TWRP-flashable ROM. You have 64GB storage space unless you've used it all up. So, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to transfer that file and flash it.

Glad you got it running! However, in the future don't just download and flash anything. Brazilian 5.0.2 won't work because it's not made for your phone (U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250), and the radio/modem won't work. The Brazilian TWRP flashable 6.0.1 file works in part because @iiWoodstocK used custom @bhb27 kernel to make it compatible. It's stock Motorola Marshmallow ROM otherwise. So, that one was OK, but just flashing XT1225 firmware for your XT1250 is not wise.
Also, you can't downgrade bootloaders, so be careful when flashing different versions of software. You can downgrade from MM to Lollipop or even Kitkat, but you have to leave out gpt.bin.
It seemed you were just flashing a lot of stuff, so be careful.

You can change the camera. There's stock Moto Camera files in this forum you can flash. This is from the Bliss ROM thread:

^^ agreed. great ROM. as far as camera quality, that is just the stock CM camera. idk why. i never use it for that reason. there are a few "moto canera and gallery" flash able zip files on androidfilehost.com and mega. or you can try to install them from Play store. the moto ones are better in that aspect. the htc 10 camera works okay as do several others. find a replacement that works for you.

I flashed TWRP and unlocked bootloader, I am on mha-l29c636b158. How can I return to completely stock? I want to receive updates via ota because I read that there is a new update to fix the touch screen not being responsive. Or is there a flashable stock zip update I can flash?

I spent that past two days rooting and flashing the one rom I could. Had to ignore some Chinese. I am USA 567B167. Got into trouble a number of times. This phone is funky compared to all the rooting I have done. I booted into erocovery, downloaded stock 2GB, wiped and was back to current stock without issue. It bootlooped if I didn't hard reset and wipe cache.

So you just booted to erecovery and from there it automatically downloaded the stock firmware?
You can return stock by use dload update.

yes. I did it twice. that is how many times I got into trouble and was the only solution. It worked great as it gives you the ability to log into wifi with a keyboard present to put in the password, then downloads the stock current rom and flashes it. You have to format data and wipe cache yourself.
Miss Wugfresh root tool. Get you out of any trouble.
It says getting package info failed in erecovery

Erecovery only work for Chinese firmware.
Use the guide above and yes you can receive ota.
I also received the same message. Getting into recovery was inconsistent for me even with TWRP. Sometimes it would do the auto downloaded and fail thing and other times it would go into TWRP. You need to get where you have three choices and pick erocovery and push the start button. This brings up the restore ability. Worked perfect on the USA model.

Yes. Twice. Once to get off of HRT rom that was wonky and another to remove root because I lost Google apps. All accidents and was grateful to discover erecovery put me back on the current B167 version stock.

Are you sure ur not using a paid service?
That's a good news, that was only possible for Chinese firmware, hope they extend it to all regions.

Completely positive. It happened by accident because I got in a bad place with HRT rom. Came out completely stock and current when no upgrade need. Then I rooted stock and somehow lost gapps including keyboard. Did it again and back to stock. All in erecovery. No other programs or files. It did a 2.5GB download, flashed in Emui and rebooted like when I bought it.

Sorry for the no noob question: I just got my mate 9 and unlocked bootloader and rooted it. Recovery is TWRP 3.0.2-2.
Where do i find this erecovery? Couldn't see any download option in TWRP and even Google didn't know that term. Could anybody please explain step by step how to revert to stock (for the only sake of getting OTAs) once the phone has unlocked bootloader and is rooted using the method from xda with modified boot.img?
Or is it even possible to take OTAs while being rooted with system read only? On my previous phone, the Asus Zenfone 2 this was possible.
Thanks a lot

Thanks for the quick answer. Let me clearify what I understood : this erecovery is available only on the PC?
So basically I wait in rooted state until I receive the next OTA, don't take it but switch off the phone.
Then connect it to the PC and boot it up by holding the volume up + power key.
Then what happens exactly?

Ah ok, this erecovery is still available on my phone even if I already flashed a custom recovery, right?
Then after downloading the firmware, erecovery will flash it and overwrite root and lock my bootloader again, correct?

I am a noob at this so it took me a while to figure it out.
First and foremost you have to be in stock marshmallow with stock recovery to be able to do this.
This is the SD card method. Idk how to do the ADB method.
1. Make sure you have your SD card as portable storage, not as internal storage. (Have to format your SD card or use another SD card)
2. Download the OTA https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3gPYUZ4nRLwOHJKQnNYczNEMHc/view?usp=sharing credit goes to @gokart2 for OTA
3. Move the ZIP inside your SD Card (I put mine in Downloads folder of my SD card) *Note* Per sources you can also save OTA in internal storage
4. Turn phone off
5. Hold down power button + volume down button until you see the stock menu
6. Press the volume up or down button to scroll though the list and when you find Recovery use power button to select it.
7. In recovery menu you will see a message saying "No command" don't worry. For this hold down the power button and tap the volume up button once and then let go of the power button. (You can try this couple times until you get it, It's kinda tricky)
8. Once you get in the recovery menu use the volume buttons to go to Flash update with SD card and use power button to select it, from there go to the directory where you put the update and select the OTA using power button.
9. Clear cache if you want and reboot.
10. Enjoy 7.0
That "no command" had me stumped".

It just finished updating the apps. Finally on stock 7.
I put the zip file directly on the internal storage, And recovery found it with no problem. Thanks for this tho, I'm finally on nougat!

For me the phone was much more snappier.
So far so good. All sensors working. Calls sounds good. Bluetooth connects. No FCs noted. Smooth and cool after a reboot.
Getting rid of 'unlocked bootloader" message after flashing
I used the image and process outlined here to get rid of the annoying 'unlocked bootloader" message after flashing the OTA manually. No problems noted. I have not tried replacing the animation.
kept on getting invalid signature or something like that. any suggestions

Try flash latest OTA first even you are at the latest build number.
You don't need a locked bootloader to sideload an OTA from the SD card.
Wifi issue
Anyone cant get to web browse for some reason even tho the wifi is suppose to be working like everything else like using the playstore or using social medias work but not chrome web browsing ?

Can you tell me which one is the latest build? so i can try that
I'm a little disappointed with my battery life on nougat so far to be honest, it's in general 30 mins - hour shorter then I was before the update. But everything seems to be super stable and my phone doesn't get any hotter then usual.
Used this system and now I'm running stock Nougat,so far so good, smoother than Marshmallow, now the question: Is there a way to root Nougat?
You should factory reset right after taking the update. Otherwise your battery life will be unpredictable but usually worse.
