1. I would say yes.
2. Nope.
It's a bit crazy but, I tested cyanogenmod 10 (jelly bean) and aokp roms but I hate the interface,
after that, I returned to the default rom, waiting for something better (The rom were pretty fast in
general but the interface sucks balls and I lost a lots of apps, so I returned back to the default rom)
And if you root this device or install a new rom with recovery, when you boot this thing with power on + volume up,
on the left corner, you can see if your device was "hacked" or not with the number of flashed roms.
Ignore my frenglish.

Is the android that come with it fast, or has some bugs?
Can we play some heavy games E.x Grand Theft Auto III?
Thank you for your help.
Yes its fairly fast and yes you can play games like that , it would be even faster if you used a custom ROM.

For good games that will work on your tab :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693528
You can change the look of a custom ROM by adding a custom theme easily enough , fairly large collection here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801752
You can also clear the binary counter ( so your device isnt showing as "hacked")
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835594
I think its worth the money in general but its a personal choice , you could always try it out and leave it untouched , if you are not happy in general you could return it to the shop and get a refund.
What model are you thinking of buying ?

I am thinking to get SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3110 7.0 Tablet PC - 8 GB, White
I own a P-3113 and its a great little tablet , the only issues i have had are the ones i have caused , You can get a better spec tablet like the Nexus 7 but that has one major problem....NO external SD card slot. If you want to play games you need that facility as some games have as much as 1 GIG of content to download ( NOVA 3 for example),YOU CAN'T STORE YOUR GAMES ON THE SD CARD , but you can store your other media on it , such as nandroid back ups and media (pictures/ films and music)
These tablets are not top of the range but neither is the price !
You can't play all the top end games on this but you certainly do have a large selection to choose from.
If you want fast updates and the stock Android experience (as well as a quad core processor and 12 core graphics) then get the Nexus 7, but if you like the Samsung Touchwiz UI and Micro SD (and don't mind waiting a few months for Android updates), then the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is a good tablet.
I can play GTA 3 on Gtab2 7.0
Thank you for help to decide, i will the the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 inch Tablet - White (16GB, WiFi, Android 4.0) that cost £273.34 and has £50 Cashback from samsung, so will cost £223.34, hope does the same job.
Thank you.

you're lucky, in my country Gtab2 7.0 (P3100 with voice gsm call) cost about $350,
and the 10 inch cost about $450
I've got a Tab 2 and am growing tired of the lag even using the basic function such as web browsing (running stock or rooted/CM10.1). I don't want to completely jump from the Samsung ship (I have an iPad 2 already) and wanted to know how the Tab 2 stacked up against the much higher spec'd Note 10.1 but can't find any direct comparisons on here or online.
My question is whether the the Note 10.1 is WAY better/faster/smoother/more lag free than the Tab 2. From the spec's I know it should be but I'm interested in real world first hand experience of anyone who's got or used both.
My dad has the Tab 2 and I have the note 10.1. Huge difference when I used his Tab. Lagged all over the place. My note is significantly smoother and works wonderfully.
Any particular task you're intersted in? I've got very little complaints with it. Let me remind you though that after I disabled a bunch of apps on my dad's tab and freed up more RAM, it was significantly smoother. It really comes down to how much ram it had to run apps. Have you tried different roms? Also try disabling as many apps that you dont use or install a rom that has bloatware removed. Go into application manager and disable everything and anything you can that you dont use. Like widgets and samsung app store.

Yeah, wanted to know if you've seen any lag at all using the Note? Things like pinch-zooming on the web, flicking between apps etc?
Nope. No lag with web or flicking between apps.

Note 10.1 doesn't have any lag. Just perfect
Hi everybody, i set out to install an Galaxy tab 2 10.1 inch that i had and wasn't using in the car dashboard. And i am finished with all the bondo work and painting and everything. So now its time to setup the galaxy tab itself. So i would appreciate any advice you can share about what you think would be the best Rom for it. Personally i was thinking either CM12 or CM13. And either programing my own launcher for it ( i have an old android tv box launcher project i can probably repurpose for this ) or going the "AutoMate" way. And ofcourse the plan is to install Pushbullet for the notifications from the phone and Here maps for the gps.
Any suggestions or ideas/opinions for Rom, launchers and apps are welcome. I know that the chances of getting a bunch of "google it" responses are pretty high and for those people i have to say i have googled car tablet setups and installs for the last 2 months.
I think cm13 would be great...as you are not gonna play games....
Marshmallow would be great for your use.

Japp CM13 seems like a good choice, ive installed it today. had a litle trouble with the marshmallow gapps package that is linked in the cm13 thread, got an error message constantly so finaly downloaded gapps from opengapps.net and that one installed without any problems.
Hey guys,
Our old Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 p5113 was stuck on the animated Samsung logo, so I flashed it with Beanstalk v6.13. Now it seems a bit heavy. So I'm looking through the dev threads, but my head is spinning. SO MANY OPTIONS!
What is the most stable ROM? My wife and 5-yr-old will only be using it for games. No social media stuff. What is your best recommendation? Hoping to avoid having to update again anytime soon. I did notice with the old ROM, certain games weren't supported, so that's also a factor.
Thanks!

My wife stole my 5113 with slim 6. Strictly Netflix. No complaints from her with it
Hi guys,
Completely new to all this so please excuse the noob questions. I’ve rooted a crappy android device before but installing a new OS worries me a bit.
Anyway...
So I’ve got an old 7 inch tab 2 (GT p3113) and it’s slow but functional. My main questions are these three:
1. It currently has 4.2.2 installed- does this make any difference to installing a lineage OS?
2. Will I notice any meaningful improvement in speed/performance for stuff like browsing or watching a video on VLC or YouTube etc?
3. Is 14.1 the only one my tab will hande or should I go for one of the Omni roms for my model? (I have no idea what I’m talking about at this stage).
The second question is the main concern for me; I don’t really want to go through the process of wiping a functioning Samsung tab (even an ancient one) only to realise there’s no significant improvement.
Apologies if this is basic stuff but I only found out today I could even do this- there are remarkably few decent review videos on YouTube for the p3113.
Many thanks in advance,
Joe.
