I reset it, I got to the set up page, but 3 minutes after the screen goes black, but it shows the battery, and time. Is there a way to fix it? I need assistance quick, because my father will be home soon, and I don't want him to know I bricked my device, as I just got it.

I have a samsung galaxy S from T-mobile, It became unresponsive and it started for no reason.
It is a locked , never rooted no firmware or software updated ever. Just had some Apps from marketplace though no new apps recently.
this is what happened. I left it for charging and the battery was dry. i gotta a call, so disconnected a/c charging and I could not swipe answer button and the phone kinda went to freeze, then screen went black. I took the phone connected for charging and after some time tried to hit power button , it starts the flash logo and t-mobile logo screen and then to the home screen which was black except for some icons in the top toolbar.
so i started again and went on like 4 times and i gotta screen like ( i think downloading screen ) . thats it . THe phone never charged or started again, I tried 3 button combos and all the basic recovery steps for this and not worked. I have been hunting for answer last couple of days before deciding to write my own thread. I am now convinced my phone is fully bricked , what should i do now?
So you think your bricked... Well good thing is your not bricked.
The information you gave us is not very clear.
I would take a guess and I would say its the battery. Replace the battery with a new one.
Hi All,
I'm hoping somebody can help me here. I have an N8010 which is stuck on a constant reboot cycle.
It displays the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" Logo and then blanks the screen. After a couple of seconds, then it redisplays the same logo.
It first did this on Thursday after being in use for about 30 Mins. The Tablet just hung and rebooted. It got stuck in this loop until somehow I managed to turn it off. After about an hour, it started up and worked OK, but I didn't try prolonged use.
This morning, it did the same thing, hung (Editing contacts) and rebooted. This time it started back up, but almost immediately id hung again and now it's stuck in the Reboot/Logo loop. I cannot even turn it off - It's just displaying the Logo.
I can press and hold Power/Vol Down to invoke Odin. Selecting Restart Phone just returns me to the loop.
Earlier I could press and hold Power /Vol up to invoke the Reboot/Reset screen and I have done a factory reset.
Oddly - Now I can no longer use the Power/Vol up combination to get to the reboot/reset screen, but I have managed to use it to turn of the tablet.
Occasionally there are a number of corrupted pixels flashing on the screen.
I am assuming that there is some sort of dry joint/bad connection that is warming up and causing these issues.
This Note has not been flashed with any software at all - It's stock.
Anyone seen anything like this before or should I just return it
Thanks in Advance
Steve
Return it, don't try to flash anything to it.

If it is under warranty and you are on your stock market rom then give it to a service center

Did you try to root it or flash another rom? If not just send it to service.

Thanks guys - No didn't try to root or flash at all. I'm waiting for the JB update to see if I need to.
It's working perfectly right now, While it was rebooting endlessly, I managed to get the battery display to appear - It seemed to be completely discharged. (85% a few minutes before) . So I connected it to the charger.
After 35 mins, the charge was showing 92% and it booted and has been running happily ever since.
Exactly what it did on Thursday - showed empty and then charged after about 30 mins.
I think I'll take it back and see if they'll swap it for one with the 3G. Hope that they don't have to send it away, it's gonna be my Christmas present

Good luck! Since you didn't flash a custom rom or anything, there's no reason you should have to deal with that stress.. Just return it and demand an exchange or something. If you got it at a store, they'd probably be happy to exchange it. If you got it online, it'd be a little harder and more delayed, but still doable! Good luck again!
Unfortunately there are lemons in all manufactured goods, looks like you got 1... I hope it doesnt sour your attitude towards a really good product, as long as it works....

I thought that I should let you guys know the outcome.
I was not soured at all, I took it back to the store, and was told that they would have to return it
So while I was there I bought a N8000
Jelly Beaned it, rooted etc This thing rocks
Hello everybody. You're my last hope!
Here's my situation: I bought a second hand Note a year back, and it's suddenly done a hard brick on me. So hard my computer can't even see it when I use the USB data cable.
I'd rooted it with CWM, flashed a custom JB ROM, and had been using Link2SD to shift some non-essential apps to a secondary partition and free up some system space. Although all the above came with their hiccups, I'd been using the phone without a hitch for about a week when "it" happened.
Today I pick it up and it has the "Galaxy Note N7000" welcome screen, which disappears when I hold down the power button. After that, nothing. Nothing from the power button, nothing from the power button+menu button+volume up. Nothing when I replace the battery with my fully charged spare. Nothing when I plug it in to charge, nothing when I connect it to the PC. No warning, nothing. Out of the blue, just like that.
After a bit of online rummaging I think I need a JTAG fix, something like "Samsung Galaxy Note - JTAG Brick Repair Service (Debricking/Unbrick/Brick FIX)" by MobileTechVideos on Youtube (I'd paste a link, but this site). Problem is, I'm all the way out here in Turkey. What would you suggest?
Thank you in advance.
PS: I'm struck by how all this makes you appreciate the simpler things in life. Like your father-in-law's little old beat-up Nokia that never skipped a beat all these years and is now saving your life. Is it really so hard to make a phone that is guaranteed to boot no matter what?
I have a samsung galaxy 3 verizon and tried rebooting into recovery and instead it turned off and did not reboot. I have no computer now I did this awhile back. I just figured it was toast. But its worth a shot. The only life I can get is a red led for about 30 seconds then the led turns off and that's it. Iv tried everything I can think of. And the exact same thing happens when I plug it in with no battery. Can I save it?
Hi,
Here is a very similar thread. Seems you're bricked, but there's something to try here, otherwise a service center may need to look at it...

You'll likely need a computer to attempt anything to fix it... Without that, There's not much you can do I'm afraid.
Good luck!
Hi guys
a few months ago, my samsung galaxy s7 edge's battery started to charge slower than usual. Whereas before it would take about an hour to fully charge, now it would take 6 hours or more. I continued using it. A few weeks ago skype app started acting up. When I would open it, it would close automatically. I continued using the phone. Then last week I was using this app called talkatone. It's an app that gives you a second phone number. As I was talking to someone on the app, my phone froze and I had to force restart it. Now the phone would go to the black screen that says samsung galaxy s7 edge in white font. Then it would just restart over and over again. I finally got it to go to the home screen after many tries. Everything was fine but then when I was texting someone phone froze again. Now when I try to restart it, it goes to that black screen that says galaxy edge in white font. Then it goes to the next screen where it starts drawing the word SAMSUNG one letter at a time. but it gets stuck somewhere here. it draws S A and then it freezes. or it draws S A M and then it freezes.
based on these symptoms, do you think it's the battery? or the operating system is corrupt and needs to be reinstalled? or something else? is this fixable?
Replace the battery and go from there.
It's long overdue...
