I was provided this unit for free for an unbiased review.
<MODERATOR EDITED - SPAM REFERRAL LINKS DELETED>
Pros:
- build quality: housing is all plastic, but not necessarily the cheap kind. Feels solid, no rattling or sharp edges. Very well finished.
- includes two cables: 1x USB C and 1x USB A-C (CheckR compliant)
- packaging isn't annoying and all recyclable
- really simple operation; just plug and play with no need to press any buttons of any kind to start working
- rapidly charges the Nexus 6P at 2920 mA using included USB C cable
Cons:
- Total output is only 5V at 3A (was not able to simultaneously charge my Nexus 7 and Nexus 6P rapidly); total sum of output current between both devices was slightly over 3000 mA
- style; totally subjective but the design looks dated IMO
- legacy USB port does not hold the USB cable head firmly. Cable wiggles a tad, but does not come out.
Other thoughts:
- length of included cables are both 17 cm from tip to tip
- "power" button turns off bank while plugged to phone, as well as checking the capacity
- dimensions of power bank: 13.8cm x 6.2cm x 2.2cm
- able to charge my 6P a cumulative total of 196% before running out of juice
Would I buy it again: Likely. Few other options on the market, at the time of this writing, that can support 5V/3A USB C output. Not particularly pricey.

Good review, any comparison shots next to the phone for size? How many charges are you getting before recharging the pack?
Bad ass ruler.

Under "other thoughts" there are measurements. My 6p is my only camera now that I sold my old phone. I haven't really tried to cycle through the battery entirely yet, mostly because it would be too much hassle to do it. It would require me to turn off my phone while it's charging so that it's not consuming while being charged. I was able to charge to full from 35% and not even one of the lights turned off.
I'll charge my phone through the bank only for the next few cycles until it empties and report back

wow, this looks identical to the monoprice 14202 unit, with the difference being that the monoprice one doesn't support charging the battery pack @ 3A via the Type C port.
So far, most reviews of the monoprice version seem to indicate that capacity is way overrated. If the pack is fully charged, how many lights do you have before/after charging the 6P?
I'm wondering if they are just sharing the same case design, or if the internals are different (more likely unless iVoler misstated the specs).
Update:
Charged my phone a total of 190% while phone was still on at all times, before the bank was finally drained from full
It does look alot like the Monoprice 10,000mAh that I have ... its rated for 2 full charges on 6P but after just one charge, it goes from 4bars down to 1. Does this one perform better?

This I've definitely will last more than one whole charge (phone on during charge but relatively idle). I'm gonna cycle it one more time and see what I get
Don't forget that the 10.000mA capacity is not the one you can use in total. In theory you can expect a usable capacity of about 6290mAh at a efficiency of about 85% if this battery pack really allows you to charge a Nexus 6p nearly 2x...best case. A more realistic approach is a efficiency of about 75% which would result in a usable capacity of about 5550mAh.
So this last cycle, I charged the phone a total of 196% before all lights turned off.
This was with the phone still turned on, but idle.
Very promising, thank you for the data! Do you happen to have any Apple devices? Would love to know how well it does with other devices (want to make sure it's at least as good as my older 10,000mAh RAVpower unit).

Sorry, never owned anything apple[emoji1]
My wife decided to get a nexus 6p so I started buying her accessories and got her this backup battery. The power button does work, you just have to hold it down for about 5 seconds and it completely shuts the battery off. I tested it while it was plugged in charging my phone. I also kind of disagree about the design looking dated, I think it's one of the better looking batteries I've seen in the last few years and it's not a fingerprint magnet or just another boring black piece of plastic.

Yes, I do mean a cumulative total of 196%. More precisely, the first charge was from 20%-100%, followed by another 20%-100%, then 70%-100%, and finishing from 82%-88% before all lights turned off

Have you tried the PowerCore+ by Anker? I'd trust them instead of iVoler, but it's only a 20.000mah and 50€, too big and expensive

I just received one of these today. Here are a couple of photos next to my Nexus 6p. Haven't used it yet to charge with. Will be using it on an upcoming trip to charge a 6p and a 5x. The Ravpower at 20100 mAh was just too big to carry around.

Enjoy it. It's a quality product for sure and it can last a few charges on smaller devices. I'd expect it to fully charged both your 6p and 5x at least once each and have a slight bit left in there. I've enjoyed using mine as a travel charger for those days with heavy usage.

Power Banks from RavPower are starting to remind me of Swiss Army Knives. I recently reviewed one that acted as a hot spot, provides charging, and allows devices to read SDCards and portable hard drives. The product in this post substitutes out those features for a huge capacity (14000 mAh) and a flashlight. It has two ports. One good enough to charge most cell phones and another that is good enough to charge most tablets (1A and 2A output respectively).
I've carried similar products:
in the field (@ Fort Stewart and other military training facilities)
on deployment
while in Europe - kept my phone charged and acting as a hotspot for a group of 5
at sporting events
on plane trips / at the airport
conventions (SEMA / CTIA)
The prices on stuff like this keep on dropping. It'd probably be good to keep one charged up and in your arsenal of mobile devices / accessories.

I have the RAVPower 10400 and it's a lifesaver on my recent travels. I noticed Trent has a 14000 Rugged version so that's another option, thanks for the heads up and review on the Ravpower 14000. Is the LED light useful? Anker has it but I'm not sure how bright these lights are.

New Trent looks nice. I just had an issue with one of their products. It did get used a lot though so I'm not surprised the port finally broke.
The light is basically just enough to locate small items in the dark and plug stuff into the battery pack. You're not going to want to use the light lets say for setting up a camp site.
This looks Awesome.

NiMh batteries will discharge fast.. LiPo and Li-Ion don't typically have such high internal discharge rates.. maybe the one you have has Nimh cells in it?

If the iPhone was at the same level of discharge and the power banks were both charged, it's nice to know that one can recharge at a quicker rate. I couldn't quote the reply that it was measuring current since that was on a different page, or I would have.

Haha, I was just coming to post this myself. Its good we have people looking out for this sort of thing. Stuff like this always pops up in the early phases of new tech or standard roll outs. Remember all the faulty knock off lightning cables for apple stuff when that first launched?
Potentially bad news for those of us with the One+ cables though;
+Rajesh Handa , +Guille Laca, +Jared Valles, +Steven Lefkoff, unfortunately I have bad news about the One+ cables. The One+ cables, despite ostensibly being from a 1st party phone maker, are out of spec. They use an incorrect 3A configuration as well.
I haven't reviewed them on Amazon because they aren't for sale there directly from One+

It sucks he has not recommended any chargers or USB-C to USB-C cables. The only cables he has reviewed are USB A to USB-C and it is my understanding that these will not quick charge the device anyhow.
I have started a Google Sheet to track USB Type C cables and accessories. I have also enhanced to include N5X and N6P products. Check it out!

Not to change gears but I topped my 6p off yesterday before first boot up and let it and my htc m8 both drain completely, them plugged 6p to packaged charger and my m8 to a nexus 6 fast charger and a 6-ft micro usb I bought fro at&t and the m8 charged... Much... Faster. Are Google's fast charging claims unfounded or is the N6 charger from Motorola just that fast?

Remember that the M8 has a 2,600 mAh battery and the 6P has a 3,450 mAh battery. The 6P battery is almost 35% larger than the M8, and will require more time to charge. How much charge did the 6P have when the M8 finished charging?

Ditto. I bought 3 and I might keep them for slow charging, like overnight. The price wasn't bad.
That's is a very fair point and good question. If I'm not mistaken between 65-75%. Nothing crazy, but one thing I will say, I play a game that drains the battery very badly, even after I close and even force close the app (love it so much I am willing to live with it) but I drained it all the way back down this morning playing the game and instead of turning it back on and starting the charge from 1% and leaving it on so I can track its progress (after a restart, the game normally doesn't cause any battery drain until I open it again), I left it off to charge, and I came back less than 40 minutes later and the thing was full.. I couldn't believe it so I turned it on and unplugged it and sure enough, 98%. It could be that the game was causing such drain (which is scary because the it never eats battery after a reboot) that it slowed the charging process, but I guess I'll never know for sure.

should we still have to worry about even if we use a basic charger (5v - 2a) to charge our 6P with those generic cables? seems like the google engineer only tested and raised concerned with rapid charging. this might get too far once wireless charging stickers/cases are introduced.

Based on the text in his reviews, it sounds like the risk of damage is to your charger, not your phone. The phone can (obviously) handle a 3A charging speed but a USB A charger most likely cannot.

Hey everyone! As you all know im always doing reviews on loads of products and have reviewed these cables with the OnePlus 2! Obviously they work perfectly for that as they were built for the OnePlus 2 originally. I did contact them though and they did let me know that as soon as it was brought to there attention they corrected the issue and i actually received the new version of the cable today and i will review it and have the video up tomorrow! For everyone using a OnePlus 2 its nothing to worry about though. The only items that it could affect are things that power at 3A so just keep that in mind before you go throwing out your cables!

I bought this external battery pack because I wanted something to power my Nexus 6p, with rapid charging. I can confirm that this battery pack registers as charging rapidly on the lock screen. This charger also can charge 3 devices at once. It has a USB type c port, 2.4a USB port and a quick charge 2.0 USB port. The charger still delivers enough amperage for rapid charging while charging 2 devices at the same time as shown in one of the pictures.
Finally this charger has 4 indicator lights on it to display how much capacity is left in the power bank. The size of this power bank is a little bigger than a nexus 6p and it comes with 2 USB type A to micro USB cables. Overall this power bank is a great value and already came in handy many times!

I really like mine. I pretty much use it wherever I go. I actually bought two one for home and one for work.
hows the weight on this thing? Seems beastly ... is it pocketable? Id like to get one but concern about the size. I'm used to easily putting an extra battery in my pocket so not being able to replace battery will take some getting used to. Wish this came in like 10,000mah at half the size
weight is fine, but it's too thick and wide to be pocketable. I've posted more in depth in the other thread for this, but it's a really good product that delivers fast charging and plenty of juice

I was digging around on ebay for accessories for my G5 and i suddenly found this type of wireless charger for LG G5 that comes with a sticker and it has a cable on the bottom to transfer the charge from the sticker into the phone. So.... has anyone tried it already? Comment what do you think about it. Are we getting closer to have wireless charging capability the same or similar way than other devices with wireless charging feature? In my opinion this might be an improvement. (not that i use wireless charging a lot but it is sometimes useful)
I've seen that this doesnt only work for the LG G5, it actually works for any device with type C usb as i have been digging even more and see that it works for other devices too.

You still need to get the charging base, unless you have one, many of these receiver that plugs into the USB port is not very reliable, too many detection error and very fragile, but I did try a micro USB QI receiver yesterday on the G5 and it work fine, that is upto now without error also trying some QI extention cable receiver, still work perfect.

What is most interesting about this is that it works with any device (smartphone) with Type C . According to the descriptions you find on ebay and amazon. I will have to give it a try. Dont know when i will be able to buy it exactly, but i will
I would check the output. These G5 take a large 1800mA (could be more haven't looked) charger. I used to grab those Qi universal charger films you are talking about. Worked great until phones started taking 1000mA or greater chargers. Many of these wireless chargers do NOT support fast enough charging. Meaning it could take 4 hours to get your battery to 50% or even longer (some are only 500mA chargers, almost 75% slower than normal).
So be prepared for extremely slow, albeit convenient, charging. Check the output of your charging base and the output of the charging film first.
I just ordered that sticker from eBay. I'll report back once I have it and tested it. I have the tylt 3-coil wireless charger. Charging speed is no issue for me. I don't need rapid charging like from the OEM charger.
If you don't have tylt, you can try the spigen 3-coil wireless charger. They're cheap on eBay! I'm not sure if it'll work (I haven't tested it) , but spigen is a good brand for most things.

Hey thanks. Let us know how it goes. Between the money i paid for the phone and college, well. Im pretty much broke right now. Im trying to sell my Galaxy s5 locally to get some money back and some of my covers among other things, however, here in miami people sell high, and want to buy extremely low.
I have it, not very good.

There is only one available, no matter where you buy it, it's the same product, speed is slower than cable, but that was expected, if you use a case, it's very fiddly to put on and take off, as the plug area is very big when you compare them to other receivers like the micro USB or lightning.

Hmm, But what was the estimate time for the phone to fully charge from x% to y% ? Maybe with another cover it would be easier to put? There are quite a few now for g5

If you are concern about slow speed, you shouldn't use it, as I say it's slower than cable, I mean with a normal charger, not a fast charger, but i'm ok with that, I have never liked fast charge, if you are using a TPU case, it easy to use, but cases like my voia or spigen style armor with removable bottom has problems, the head is very big, so not all case will fit.

Im not that concern though. After all i would only use it about 10% of the times. But people who really use it would probably like to know
Could you please take a picture, I am curious as to how much the head sticks out

Hey guys. Made a quick video of the module. Will update you once I have more time to test it. Sorry for the amateur nature

Great!! thanks for sharing. Any intel about how long does it take to charge from x% to y%? any given value to x and any given value greater than X given to Y. Also, when you are using the device, whether it transfer enough energy to keep using the phone while it charges or whether the battery will decrease while you are using the phone. (In an average usage: Say, Facebook, youtube with brightness in about 50-70%, or having at least 3 or 4 applications running in the background that are not so heavy, nor light) If you have tried any of this things, or all of them, please share your experience with it.
According to the description of the link i posted, it says that the output is 1000mA
But thank you for sharing the video
With about 1 hour of charging, i got about 10% of charge. If there's load, it'll def drop the charging capability. I'll do more rigorous testing, but as it stands, it's charging slowly.
Part of it can also be because I'm using the tylt charger, which has a 5 w output.

hmm yeah. There might be some factors affecting the rate of charge. I mean, 10% in 1 hour? that shouldn't be a standard charge rate. I will dig in a little more and see what i can find out there in google. Maybe someone did try it with a charging dock with higher Watts output. I will let you know if i found something

Okay, before i looked into google i decided to see what other sellers on ebay have to offer and here is what i found. There are sellers that sell the sticker along with a charging dock with an input of 2000mA and output of 1000mA, Power: 10W. I think that would only double the estimated time you just gave me from x to y being 10% in 1 hour . But it still too low. Maybe the cover is another factor? Maybe there are materials that decrease the overall charging rate by slowing the transference of energy from the dock to the wireless receiver. I will look for more info.
Anyone planning on or tried wireless charging yet? I see some decent reviews for the model below on Amazon. Just curious if it will charge quicker than my current phone (Nexus 6)?

The Pixel does not support wireless charging. You would need to install one of those stick on QI compliant receivers that plug into the USB C port.

Yes I realize that, looking for opinions from anyone who has used these. I fixed the link too, oops.

I don't have first hand experience, but I see a few problems.
First, the USB C factory charger charges the phone to 70% in 15 minutes. It isn't like previous devices where you would throw it on the QI charger every spare moment because the battery took forever to charge. Second, the voltage output is not device specific and would take longer to charge the phone than using a standard USB C cable/charger.
I guess what I am saying is that yeah, any of the QI compliant stickers would work, but I ask, are they useful? I lived by QI on my Nexus 6, but seeing what type of battery life I get now, coupled with the ridiculously quick charge times, I no longer see the merit.
I don't mean to thread crap, but it took me a while to get over QI when weighing my options to upgrade. I honestly no longer miss wireless charging. I miss my dual facing stereo speaker and my almost 0 bezel from my Nexus 6, but not QI.
I hope this somewhat helps.

Definitely helps, and yes I too am struggling with just getting over wireless charging. It's just hard to cast aside all the wireless accessories (for 2 phones, my wife has one as well).
I think once there is an external DAC that has inline charging I'll happily dump the wireless charging idea haha!
