Even with the new OS version, I still can't encrypt my phone.
Anybody knows any workaround for this problem or if it'll be eventually solved by Xiaomi?

Hello, I have Android 4.2.1 Kernel 3.4.5 device Huawei G610-U20, the problem is this device doesn't have the encrypt phone option and after they stole my previous phone I really need it now, how can I encrypt it manually, maybe by installing the missing software or other methods? Can someone please provide any solution? Thank you
I contacted support. No help. I can encrypt but I can put in laptop and I still see files unencrypted. I got on youtube and others are having same problem. Changing chips dont't help. Could this be a bug? Issue needed fixed in a update? What do I do?

I've installed CM13 on my Mi4 and there was an option to encrypt the phone.
On my first try, it reboots and the encryption never started. It seems to be a software issue like i saw in other threads on mi4 forum.
Is it possible to encrypt the phone manually? Anyone had sucess?

As many others I'm experiencing the impossibility to sync Google addressbook with my Lenovo P2. So I decided to unblock the bootloader even if this make the warranty to be lost, because I absolutly need the sync. Unfortunately also the possibility to ask for the oem unblock of the bootloader is nt possible at the moment (see threads on this topic here and at Lenovo Community)..
I suppose that going back to a previous official ROM doesn't help because the impossibility to sync started a long time *after* the last official update of P2, ie November 2017.
Anyway my question is: is it possible to try to install an old version of the original Lenovo P2 FW, without problems? I was successful with Asus, Sony and others smartphone but I have no experience with Lenovo.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. As long as the bootloader isn't unlocked you shouldn't have any problems.
You can downgrade but it will not help. I downgrade to 6.0 and gooogle contact sync still not work.

contact sync won't work in 7.0 s251 either.
Purchased Vivo Nex a few days ago. Is there any option for Phone encryption? I don't see any such option in the settings.
How to get the settings? do I need any update

Thanks. Just wanted to check we have folks here who would know how it works under the hood and what it might take to bring it to attention of Vivo developers.
Does providing this option increases the cost?
Also Is this a hardware thing or something that may be resolved by pushing an update.
Afaik the recovery / boot process of the os doesn't support the encryption. So even if you try to encrypt the phone with adb it only shows errors or you brick it.
Vivo / Oppo doesn't care. In china many devices doesn't support encryption.
