Hello, so I have a nexus 5 with cataclysm 6.0.1 and latest Franco kernel, and it works like a charm, the system is very very smooth. But, scrolling in some apps, and even in the app drawer itself, makes the phone lag a little. What can I do? I heard of a scrolling mod some time ago but now found out it's discontinued and not working with 6.0.
Same here with fk kernel, try ex kernel, it's just fine.
Sometimes
I used to have these problem on cm 12.1 that when i used certain apps like gesture anyway to have smooth scrolling now i'm resurrection remix and there isn't any problems
Scrolling
Yes i would also just try another kernel.
"ElementalX" works just fine for me.

If you want to stay on franco kernel, you can raise touch input boost. Default is 250. To reduce the scrolling lag, you have to go up to at least 750 or even 1000.
Or you can simply change from interactive to conservative governor. Conservative governor and touch input boost at 500 seems to be a good combination.

So my Galaxy s3 all of a sudden started to have stutters, i have a custom rom Foxhound 2.3, and when i try any custom kernel it lags as hell. (Stock also gives stutters so its not kernel related i think)
For example perseus stutters my phone in app drawer and every time i open an application.
Syah 1.8.9. although its better, still have some stutters...
the only one that can have the phone more stable is the stock one. I dont really mind having the stock kernel its just that it makes the phone more stable but it still stutters when opening apps and in the app drawer.
Its weird because in applications i have no problems, and when im playing games is all good to.. even the more heavy intensive ones. Also my boot and shutdown animation stutter or jitters a little bit.. a thing that dint happened.
Also the benchmarks are good as always +/- 16000 on antutu, no changes... so i don't really understand whats happening...
Steps so far:
-Tested other custom roms including CM10.1 Nightly
-Tested various kernel.
-Flashed stock rom with odin
Every time with megawipe. always...
So,
I've gotten use to CM10. For months after EOS4 came around, it was ungodly slow. Even after switching off the media scanner, using a custom kernel, etc... the UI FR and general responsiveness was extremely lacking. It seems that it's been the Go-To ROM of choice for many, many months now, and the performance situation may have changed, but i'm hesitant to flash it, even if the only reason is that everything works great, other than a bit of bitrot here and there with CM10-- which brings me to my issue:
KAT kernel (version 69, of course (haha! seriously outdated)) seems to blow out my YouTube DPI, which can be fixed simply by setting the DPI to 150 or so n XPosed, and a quick dirty flash/ update kills the bitrot i run into every couple months...this time, however, i was clearing space, and organizing my .zips, when i decided it would be a brilliant idea to put all my AOSP ROMs together, all my mods & themes/addns together, and all my kernels together. The issue is, I cant for the life of me remember which kernel, and kernel version i was using! Besides the funky DPI behavior, KAT also introduces an extreme degree of video ghosting and stuttering.
I've tried a couple older kernels, but often, I'd find out the kernel was for ICS, and I'd be stuck at the boot screen.
Can someone please point me in the direction of 1-2 CM10 Kernels?
Bonus round: have the EOS issues been fixed definitively. Or do you still have to bang yuor head against the wall, look t your tablet upside down, and do some voodoo on it to get it workng?
I have never had issues like they with EOS4, so I cannot say if your issues are still around. Most users who have issues with EOS I believe did not do a factory reset, or restored system settings with Titanium Backup.
But, I would try the KatKernel 103 lidpatch CM10.1 version:
http://downloads.timduru.org/android/tf101/K.A.T/kernel/Tim_KatKernel_103_JB4.2_Lidpatch_CM10.1.zip
Edit - this is a cm10.1. If you are still on CM10, 69/70 are the most recent compatible ones.
Hello everyone!
I have just received a brand new T-mobile branded Z3. I am coming from a Nexus 5 which I absolutely loved minus the camera and battery life. So far I am really enjoying the Z3 and most everything seems to run great, other then just general interface navigation. It seems that scrolling, web surfing, facebook, or anything that requires lots of scrolling, just seems to be extremely laggy compared to my Nexus 5. I have tried Nova, Google Now Launcher, Stock Xperia Launcher, and everything just seems to have general lagginess about it.
Does anyone experience this as well? If so, any suggestions for what I might try? I'm not running in stamina mode and see no difference in general interface performance between the two modes. I really want to enjoy everything that the Z3 has, but the lag is getting to me and maybe I am just expecting too much. Thanks in advance for any details or suggestions.
Seems pretty fluid till now, no lag here.
Seems odd have you tried a full reset?

Yea, I find it odd as well. I am proceeding with a full factory reset to see if this helps out a bit. I will report back. Thanks for your suggestion.
No lag at all for me, although I have the standard D6603 model, but I am running go launcher ex which is quite intensive - what's your running/outstanding RAM within the apps section of the settings menu? I'm also running CM (Clean Master) Battery which gives you an option to close the most recent app within that app's settings. It's a one click feature that flashes up whenever you exit anything that doesn't close automatically, and it's not overly intrusive.
Did you disable triple tap to zoom? Mine was off by default but some had it enabled and it caused lags.

Well, I performed a factory reset and that seems to have helped and my battery is noticeably even better from what it was, which was already great. It appears that triple tap to zoom is disable for me. Thanks for the suggestion!
Glad things worked out.
Hi,
Just installed latest ROM - cm-12.1-20150518-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip .
Everything works well, I was hopping to fix the touchscreen issues (the phone is less sensitive than CM11), but feels the same as CM12S.
Anyway, if I am adding a new profile, and set it up based on my needs (for example to disable the look screen when I am home), after rebooting the screen is black, notification bar is running, I can expand it, but that's all I can do.
I cannot start any app, desktop is black.
Anybody having the same issue?
Thanks

CM reverted the change due to high battery drain, use an earlier nightly such as 20150515 (or a custom kernel like Boeffla beta15, ak246). Once it is fixed, it'll be re-added to the CM Repo.
As for the profiles part, I have not encountered that issue, however I am not on the CM's nightlies, but on temasek's custom forged.
I've noticed that Marshmallow software from our mighty Samsung suffers from some modest recent apps screen lag. Moving through apps cards feels a bit stuttery and heavy (whereas everything else is lightning fast and smooth as butter). Am I the only one experiencing this? I feel like it came out some time after performing a factory reset. I'm running the latest version of XtreStoLite ROM, clean cache everyday (with SDMaid) and don't use crappy apps like for example Facebook which slow Android down significantly.
BTW,
I remember that I used to use some custom kernel for some short period of time (arter kernel probably?) and the problem seemed to be completely gone as I recall. Maybe that's the stock kernel related issue then
