How To Change Power Menu Icons To Marshmallow's One - Galaxy Note 3 Themes and Apps

Hi Xda Today I Will Show You How To Change Power Menu Icons To Marshmallow's One.
First you will have to download the power menu zip that i attached it.
Then You will have to download x-plore apk and any root explorer i use solid explorer.
after that open the root explorer and go to system/framework and scroll down and select framework res.apk and copy it to internal storage then go to x-plore and press on three dots and press on configuration and press on root access and select last option then select the option for opening apk as zip.
after that go back and select framework res and go to res folder the scroll down the folder that named (drawable-xxxhdpi-v4) and scroll down until you see the old icons of power menu then swipe from right to left to see another window and open the folder you downloaded and rename each icon to be same like in framework res then copy each icon and then choose overwrite and do this for all icons.
After finishing changing icons close x-plore and go to root explorer and replace the original aom with the one you modded in system/framework and give prem for the apk (rwrr) then reboot.
Enjoy
Don't Forget To Take Nandroid Backup first just to be safe.
credits goes to @qareembizzle for providing the icons

These icons are located in system ui apk
First you will take the framework res.apk from system/framework and copy it to your pc then install it using advanced apk tool then copy system ui to your pc and decompile it. After you decompiled it go to drawable-xxxhdpi-v4 there you will find the icons.

I wonder if add blur to power menu? Just asking ... I've seen the screenshots n5

Well I deleted the framework and in less than 2 seconds, hundreds of errors popped up and the phone restarted.I know it was never going to happen so I recovered a backup.

[TUTORIAL][GB] Theming your status bar (Without decompiling apk)

Ok guys I'm posting this thread as I couldn't find a post which was easy to understand for newbies(like me) to customise the status bar.
This is pure basic and any noob can do it....
Doesn't involve decompiling of Apk...
[EDIT]:As pointed out by arunsai123 TRANSPARENT STATUS BAR MOD with this method works only for gingerbread roms [I GUESS NEVER TESTED IT ]
SOME MODS MAY REQUIRE YOU TO DO SOME SMALI EDITING SO THESE STEPS WONT WORK OUT [BUMMER]
Works universally for all ROMS!!
Prerequisite :
1.File manager with root explorer
2.7 zip or winrar (I used 7zip)
3.Image editing software (eghotoshop) (optional)
4.Offcourse basic computer knowledge.
Steps:
1.Navigate to /system/app and copy Systemui. Apk to root of your sd card
2.Copy the Apk to your pc.
(You can also pull /system/app/Systemui. Apk using adb)
3.Now open the Apk using 7zip and navigate to /res/drawable-mdpi
Here you can see the different icons used by your ui.
4.Now identify the. Image you need to edit (can be understood easily as the file names are self explanatory) (eg the image for notification. Drawer. Background is status_bar_background.png)
5.Extract that image out of the archive and edit using an image editing tool
6.Now drag the edied image back into 7zip Approve the prompt to replace the existing file.
(Or you can replace it with an already created image(Take care that it is of the same name, resolution and format.
7.Now copy this to your phone and replace the original. Systemui. Apk with the new one. (the process Systemui may force close and your status bar dissappear.... DON'T PANIC)
(You can also push using adb)
8.Now reboot to recovery and fix permission (inside advanced menu)
9.That's it you will be welcomed by your own home made status bar at your next reboot.
If you liked the status bar icon /background of any rom then they can extracted by opening the zip file of the rom and navigating to /system/app
Then extracting the Systemui. Apk
Extract Systemui . Apk using 7zip and finding the required files
Then put these in your Systemui. Apk using the steps above
If you release your mods please give credit to the creators of original images(If you use anybody else's images)
People searching for transparent status bars can do it easily by this method..
Just replace status_bar_background.png with a transparent or translucent image...
[EDIT]:attached a translucent background
Can we try this on owr phone using xplorer ( filemanager) and some image editing tool
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
Offcourse you can............any filemanager (personally recommend es file explorer) with root access can be used just remember to.enable root explorer and mount system as writable otherwise you won't be able to access those files.......
Also remember status icons may have more than 1 image....1 for each state so edit all of them otherwise these icons can go real nasty....
Wrong

Do you think just Replacing the png with transparent one will give transparent mod?
Try your mod in any ics rom and give me proof. Transparent status bar requires some xml, smali editing along with png replacement .

i think i followed your steps correctly:
- copied systemui.apk from internal memory to SDcard;
- i copied and past (overwrote) ALL the battery images from jaggyjags ROM to /res/drawable-mdpi in the SDcard;
- i enabled root explorer and mount system as writable in ES explorer file;
- copied the new systemui.apk from SDcard to /system/app (in internal memory);
- status bar disappeared and an error message kept showing off;
- i turned the phone off -> went in recovery -> advanced -> fix permission;
- rebooted the system.
that's all i did...

For battery you have to change icons in two apks one on systemui.apk and another in framework-res or com.HTC.resources....
I don't remember because it's been a while since I themed sense 3.5...
You can extract and examine both..

[THEMING -Basic] - Easy Way to EDIT SystemUI.apk/Apps Background

Hi there! Just wanna share..
Just a basic background on how to theme your ROMS. - ofcourse, give thanks to the developer of your ROMs! .
I made this thread for those users who have personal wishes for their Phones. Ofcourse, ROM developers cannot please all of its users. so just make your own and be happy!.
I just made it easy for easy understanding and for the newbies.
Tried so many times and tested
I've already tried editing the systemUI.apk of different ROMs.
Here's what I did :
FIRST : Download 7zip to open the archived apk. - that's free.
Extracting first the Zip File..
(make sure you copy the original before extracting it for back up)
1. Download the ROM.zip and extract it to your PC.
2. Go to \system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-ldpi/Mdpi/hdpi
3. View the PNG files you wanted to change and make sure to remember its' file name.
4. After editing/changing the file/image you wanted, you can save it anywhere from your PC, let's say on your Desktop.
- Make sure that the file name still remains as is..
*After you're done editing, updating the PNG files you wish to change, follow this steps to update the zip file :
NOTE : You can apply transparency by editing the PNG file to photoshop by reducing the opacity of the image
1. Go to the original ZIP file of ROM.Zip from your PC
2. Right Click the folder and select 7 ZIP -->> open archive
3. Close all of windows/Browers (or minimize)
4. Go to \system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-ldpi/mdpi/hdpi and it will open a new window of 7zip showing the files inside the zip.
5. Now, given your edited PNG files or downloaded png files (assuming that files are located in your desktop). - Click and simply DRAG the file(s) from your desktop to \system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-ldpi\ mdpi/hdpi
6. It will ask you to confirm the action for it will replace the existing PNG file that you're trying to change.
7. Make sure that the file name of the one you edited/downloaded are THE SAME. -
8. After dragging and replacing the files you wanted, then you're good to go!
9. Close the 7zip window and that's it!.
You can now install the .zip by copying the UPDATED zip file to your SD Card.
(Note: Make sure to copy the updated one, not the backed up one)
Install the zip file from the original thread's instructions and reboot twice.
After that, you have now a customized systemUI.apk.
For those who do not want to reinstall the whole package.. follow these steps:
1. I assumed that you have the zip file of your ROM.
2. Extract it and go to \system\app\
3. Separate the SystemUi.apk - put it on your desktop. create a back up,
Right Click SystemUi.apk and select 7 ZIP -->> extract here - just to view the files you wanted to change.
Just go the folder and search for the PNG files.
4. Right Click SystemUi.apk and select 7 ZIP -->> open archive.
5. Go to \res\drawable-ldpi/mdpi/hdpi
6. Click and simply DRAG the PNG file(s) from your desktop to \res\drawable-ldpi/mdpi/hdpi
7. It will ask you to confirm the action for it will replace the existing PNG file that you're trying to change.
8. Make sure that the file name of the one you edited/downloaded are THE SAME. -
9. After dragging and replacing the files you wanted, then you're good to go!
APPLYING :
1. Download and install rootexplorer.apk
2. Download the png files you wanted to update.
3. Copy and paste the NEW SystemUi.apk that you have updated/Edited to your SD card.
4. Open root explorer in your galaxy y then go and tap MOUNT R/W.
5. Go to \SDCard and go to new SystemUI.apk that you have updated.
6. Long press the file and select copy
7. Press back and go to \system\app - tap MOUNT R/W at the top.
8. Paste the new SystemUI.apk from there.
(Note : You will encounter a lot of force closes for the exixsting systemui is currently being used by your phone. - just ignore it a lot and scroll down to look for the new SystemUI.apk.
9. Once you get there, long press on it and select permissions:
from the pop up, make the checked one like this :
•___•____ •
•___ .____.
•___ .____.
where Dots are the checked one - Bigger dots
After encountering a lot of force closes, then reboot the phone and that's it!
(Force Closes are normal, DON't PANIC - logically, you are currently using your systemUI.apk so just ignore it)
NOTE : You can also apply the same steps in editing system files apps, just edit the .png files and locate it using 7zip(when you already opened it). Have a little LOGIC on how to edit system app background - same process. just different apk files and directory .

Yes. You can do it without custom recovery.
Download mobile ODIN pro. And flash using Mobile ODIN pro.
You can flash zip files using MOP.
Or else
**Decompile apk and make changes as per your wish and recompile
Or else
**Copy the required apk where you wish to change png icons into phone memory. [Example: Storage/emulated/0/app folder]
1. Extract the required apk using Root explorer.
2. After extracting search for the image/png icons which you want to replace in drawables folder. (Assume you want to replace notification_panel_torchlight.png in res/drawables-xxdpi folder of SystemUI.apk)
3. Create your own png icons.
4. Now rename the newly created png icons with the same name that you want to replace.
(Example: notification_panel_torchlight.png)
5. Now install RAR from playstore. And Copy/Cut the image from RAR.
6. Navigate to Storage/emulated/0/app folder from RAR..
7. Long press the apk file (ExampExample:SystemUI.apk) which you wish to change png icons.
8. Click on Open as archive.
9. Navigate to res/drawables-xxdpi folder and paste that png which you have copied or cutted in step 5.
10. All images should be in .png format.
All the above method require Root access. And you can root without tripping Knox.
THANKS.

Merry Christmas buddy.
You mean In QuickToggles dropdown and in Edit options, you wanna have "GPS" inatead of "Location"???
Is it.??
It's very simple, Just decompile both the apk and then goto res/values/Strings.xml
Search for Location and rename it to GPS.

[MOD] Theme Store- How to keep your stock icons on any theme

*Dont you hate when you like a theme but hate the icons!!! I will give you a simple guide to download the theme you want and keep your stock icons
~Keep your stock icons for any theme~
*ROOTED REQUIRED*
*Please read complete guide*
*Make sure you are not using the theme you are applying this to! Apply a different theme while your editing this file!
1. Using a file explorer, go to data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson and find the theme you want to keep stock icons!
2. Open file and hit the edit button! Look for this line a little ways down:
"appicon":"com.cambunch.ThemeName.appicon",
and delete it! Save file and reboot!
3. Now you can go to theme store and apply that theme and have stock icons
***Also see post #10 for another simple guide thanks to @SICKMADE***
***This should work for any theme in userjson file, just follow same steps and remember to save and reboot before you apply theme!!!
***JUST HIT THANKS IF YOU THINK THIS IS FRICKIN AWESOME***
Screen shots of files and before and after:
Note 5 have to be root or not to work ??
Yes, because you will have to use a root file explorer! ES FILE Explorer etc.
Good work[emoji106] [emoji106]

Which one? Part 1 or 2?
If icons didnt stay stock, go back to the file you deleted the line and make sure it saved with that line deleted! It did that for me and when i went back and checked file, the line was still there and i re- deleted it, made sure i saved file and rebooted and it worked!

Hmmm, it works for me! Deleted that appicon line, saved then rebooted, applied theme and i have stock icons! Ive tried it on a few themes and all have worked!
Make sure that you do not have that theme currently applied! Apply another theme then go back and apply theme that you did that for!
All you have to do if you don't like any paticular part of a sammy theme is install a root file manager... I use root browser but what ever you choose as long as it uses root is fine... then once opened file manager navigate to the data/app folder. Here you will find every apk and or sammy theme that you have installed onto your device. Simply scroll down until you find the specific group of folders for which ever theme your wanting to remove a paticular part of ex. Accuweather, App Icons, etc. Once you've located the file you don't want to use with the theme anymore like the icons "themename.appicon-1" simply delete the folder and reboot and badaboom stock icons are back! I hope that made some sense lol
This is the best Thread ever !!! I always wanted this, thanks alot !!! Very Helpful

Yes you can.. I have just tried using a keyboard theme I like on different theme by just copy pasting corresponding lines from one to another.
This also allows you to change your icons to anything you want using the galaxy icon themer app in play store

How To Modify Themes From Theme Store For S6/Note5 Roms.

Hello again everybody!
So today I have a way for you to modify themes that are from official samsung theme Store, the method is hard and it does take a lot of time so bare with me.
First of all you will need a rooted device, obviously lol
Also you will need to have, root explorer and xploer. Now for the stepes:
1- Open root explorer and go to Data > App
2- You will see many many folders for the theme, in my case I will modify something in the home screen so the folder should have your theme name and then home and the end like this ( minuhome.FranceParis.home-1 )
3- Open the folder you will find an apk called base.apk
3- copy that apk and paste To somewhere else
4- Open explore and find the copied Base.apk
5- modify the things you want, for an example I changed the folder Look, I took a folder icon, renamed it To .qmg instead of .jpg then renamed that icon exactly like the folder icon For the theme, then deleted That old One and replaced it with the new one. ( do the same with any icon you want in any base.apk)
6- Open root explorer, take the new modified base.apk and replace it with the old one, set permissions And then reboot.
If it didn't work On the first time then apply the theme then apply another theme And then apply the theme again.
This may not be the best way, but it's the only way to modify them so far.
Do not copy my method on any place without my permission!! Thank you.
Hit Thanks if you liked it!

Go to the same place, find a folder named your theme and then wallpaper like this ( minuhome.FranceParis.wallpaper ) you will find an apk inside called base.apk go inside, then go inside res And then you will find 3 wallpapers, one for homescreen one for lockscreen, one for Sview cover.
I know that as I have done that Before. ..But what about the settings page, contacts page And other pages wallpaper...How to change them...bcoz for changing wallpapers of homescreen, lockscreen and s-view we don't have to modify an apk we can simply change it Through settings...

Hello MrHollywood, looks like no one has posted here for a while but I'll give it a shot and hope for a reply/help. Your instructions are great, I've been wanting to know how to do this since my Galaxy S6.....I'm now onto an S8, rooted and rockin' an altered theme thanks to you! I have been able to use another themes icon pack with success, however when I use another theme's "InCallUI" (accept, reject, hangup icons in phone dialer) I cannot get them to stick. They will stay for a duration then default back to the Samsung goofy cartoon icons. I know that restarting phone triggers the reset but it also randomly triggers without restart. I can get them back by applying another theme then re-applying my theme....but a bit of a pain to have to do everytime!
What I have done, as per your instructions, is taken the "InCallUI.apk" out of theme's "base.apk", edited it and replaced. I have also placed that same edited InCallUI.apk into; Data > Overlays > Style > mytheme folder, then changed permissions to "rwx r-- r-w". I use these permission because all the other apk's in this folder use them.
Any advise or corrections in what I'm doing would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
