OK to begin with a "Cleaner Pro free app I downloaded on my unrooted Ellipsis 10 tablet asked to remove some deep system "junk" files and not thinking I think it said something about UI and when I pushed allow it started deleting 62 files and then jammed and wouldn't stop its deleting for way to many minutes before it finally got unstuck. So I'm not sure what it deleted but now some words displayed on my screen in certain instances are missing either the top portion or the bottom portion of words all the way across some sentences or single words or numbers and in some cases their isn't sufficient visible text to make it legible because of the omissions. So I think some important files on some part of my tablet system got erased but I don't know what to do?And also I visited a site and hit a link to another place and then a message came up saying that it couldn't process it because my SQL syntax was in error and that I was missing line 1 etc. and needed to consult my SQL manual. I don't really know much about computers so please tell me what to do to fix these issues.Thank you.

I have an interesting problem with ATPlugininstaller.
I installed chome editor v1.6 on my wm6.5 device.
At first it was working fine, and I created 2 plugins using it.
THEN, I decided to add the "day of the week" to the clock panel, by placing code directly in the titanium.cpr files.
Well, the weekday was added successfully, BUT now, I CAN'T use chome editor to create new panels, and I CAN'T install any plugin that uses the ATinstaller.
Whenever I try to do either, I get:
"An unexpected error occurred in ATplugininstaller
ATplugininstaller.exe unauthorized access exception
At System.IO._Error.WinIO error()
At System.IO.FileStream..ctor
At System.IO.FileStream..ctor
At System.Xml.XmlTextWriter..ctor
At System.Xml.XmlDOMTextWriter..ctor
At System.Xml.Xmldocument.save
At ATPlugininstaller.Main.AddLayout to cpr()
At ATPlugininstaller.Main.Main ()
As I said
, I get this same message when I try to create a new panel or add any cabs that require the plugin.
However, the panels I already created and the plugins I already installed still work fine.
My question is, why? My manually adding the code into the cpr files to show "day of the week" on the cclock panel is no different than the entries the installer makes when I install a plugin, or create one using Chome editor.
I know, I've looked thru the cpr file content. So, why does the installer crash AFTER I add the code for "day of the week" to the cpr files?
Can someone please help? Thanks.
Moved, nothing to do with development.
Ok then where do I put it? The ATplugininstaller thread IS in this developmen section, so I beg to differ with you.
I put it out here after getting no response to my inquiry in that thread.
This is one responsive board, out of 10 or so inquiries I've posted, I've only received 2 responses, all from from the author of one sw.
This is a real HELPFUL board,, I've got to say.
And, my inquiry, to remind you, HAS to do with development because I'm creating panels in Titanium using xml.
If the particular sw in question is in this section, then my inquiry as to why it crashes deserves to be here.
I guess it doesn't matter, the members on this board are of no help whatsoever. It's a waste of time to even post.
If I sound frustrated, it's because I am. I have no desire to get flamed, but I need help, and no one even answers.
No need to get frustrated .
Your thread does not belong to the development and hacking forum, that foum is please read the rules of D&H here.
Someone can only help you if they know the solution to your problem, no need to blame the users or the forum itself. Posting in the wrong section will not be helpful to you and will add to our work.
And if you really think posting here is a waste of time, why bother posting ?.
I have moved your thread to Q&A forum, which is regularly visited by developers and people with great knowledge in this field, patience is the key; not blaming the users of the board or being sarcastic.
As far as development goes, you are welcome to post your work ( pannels for titanium ) when they are ready, but not questions.
Hope you calm down, and not repeat such bursts of frustration. You could consider this a warnning.
Please read this carefully:

I do understand your need for help, but calm down and have patience, try searching or contacting XML writers/developers.
Hope you co-operate.
Understood. I had to do some venting because of all the nonresponses. Can you at least tell me where you moved my post, or did you just delete it? Thank you.
Thank you for your co-operation.
It has been moved to question and answers senction under the general section.
Many people come by here, surely someone will answer; if they have a solution.
madnish30.
just try it with TICS instead of ATPluginInstaller
(link in my signature)
there you don't need a hardcoded .plg and you have the possibility for pre-/postinstall scripts.
Also more definite error message, if you get in trouble.
Hello, first I want to apologize if I am in the wrong area.
On to the question/assistance, something or other.
I am trying to modify an App, a game to be specific, to be more enjoyable for me. So far, I've been able to open it up, find the locations where the files I need to place/overwrite are located. I did so, and closed up the package, however, most of the times I tried it, it would always say something about not being able to "Parse" it. Eventually I got it so that it installs and runs, but the changes don't seem to appear.
This game, Uplink, used to be a PC exclusive, and it was very mod-heavy. Most of the "mods" were simply pictures with a txt file pointing to specific pixels for locations of other things, nothing complicated. I feel that it should be possible with the Android version as well.
I've looked around, and I can't seem to find anything that helps. There is a post on the Uplink section of the Introversion Forums that explains it a little, but no one has gotten back to me.
Can anyone help me? If anyone would be willing to assist me, whether by pointing me in the right direction, or taking, or walking through, or however, I would be grateful.
I could post the APK, tools that were mentioned else, and links I found.
Again, sorry if this isn't the place to ask for help with this particular problem of mine.
Hi!
Perhaps you should ask here...
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
I'm sure someone there can offer some advice.
First of all, i have lurked in several threads but am still a novice in the xda community - so allow me to apologize in advance for posting a question that may very well be asked in the wrong thread. I know this community has an abundance of knowledgeble members, so this was my first destination to find the answer I was looking for.
Q:
Is there a way (without root preferably?) anyone is aware of to create a user defined system for placing newly downloaded app icons on my desktop?
I am very anal about aesthetics when it comes to my phone, and i absolutely hate icons being placed in what seens to be an almost random pattern.
I want to be able to choose a user defined placement system that chooses the page, column, and row in which the next icon will be automatically placed after it is downloaded. Ideally there would be an order of importance that i could set so my device knows that if x spot is taken then the icon instead goes y.
I hope this made sense.
I generally use Nova Prime, and my device is running 4.4.2 and is not currently rooted (rooting is an option if thats the only way to make it happen).
Thanks in advance for any help i may receive.

Hey, I have a new phone and after downloading my first app (tweaked MiBand app) from outside the Play Store i found a very strange app in menu. App looked suspicious to me because its name was "zamki oprogramowania", written just this way, without any capital letter at the beginning. I was also surprised because I was sure that I already checked every feature of the phone before starting installing any apps. I changed my phone's language to english and the app changed its name to "AppLock". When I open this AppLock it works like if it was an AppLock - it chooses a PIN and lets to choose apps to lock with it. I would accept this as a poor translation + my oversight if I didn't check the App info. This app has literally every possible permission. Starting with directly calling phone numbers and editing text messages, throughout the precise location with GPS, modifying contacts and content of SD card, setting an alarm, accessing Bluetooth, adding words to dictionary, drawing over other apps and much, much more. I made some screenshots but I can't post them, since I am a new member.
Additionally, the app is Version 1.0, it weighs 120KB and has no details about the developer or anything. Of course, I can't uninstall it, I would need a root for this. I didn't find a good looking tutorial for my phone yet since it's not that popular and quitely fresh - it's Doogee X5 Galicia. It might be important, that I noticed the app before turning on "unknown sources" in options, just after downloading Mifit app but before installing it.
So, to summarize: I downloaded an app from the web, then i found another, strangely-named and undeletable app with all the permissions granted. Should I be worried?
Ah, and sorry for poor english. I hope it won't be that hard to get why am I concerned.
Thank you in advance!

Hello,
The Galaxy S7 has multiple variants and builds. Normally when asking this kind of question, you should include the model of your device. That way anyone wanting to help you actually has the knowledge to be able to do so. Phones have different internal parts, memory space, and so on. You can find your model number by doing the following:
- slide down the notification bar, sometimes you may have to slide down twice depending on the device. Click the gear in the upper right hand corner. "Settings"
OR
- Access your app drawer or all apps section and find your "settings" section/app. Most of the time it will have a icon of a gear, or three lines that resemble on off switches. Older androids sometimes use just have three lines (as the settings icon)
- Find the section labeled "About Device / Device Info" its usually labeled something similar if not exactly. Open this section
(Galaxy phones usually have this section at the bottom of your "settings" section)
- Somewhere within this section, there will be a label that reads "Model" and that is your specific variant which is needed in device specific situations.
* Take Note of this for future reference. You might think okay ill remember that. But when you come to realize your devices model number may be XDA-2017T1 and you look for something pertaining your device. You will also find something like this:
XDA-2017
XDA-2017YP
XDA-2017YP2
XDA-2017T0
XDA-2017T2
XDA-2017T10
Assuming that you will continually update and/or customize your phone. You will probably just memorize this, along with other important information. Some important things you should include while researching is as follows (the top two are very important)
1. [Model Number] ex) XDA-2017T1
2. [Android Version] ex) 6.0.1 Marshmallow
3. [Baseband]
4. [Kernel]
5. [Chipset]
6. Is device "rooted?"
7. Is the bootloader unlocked?
8. GSM or CDMA. Older devices even use IDEN
Those are only some.
* I also want you to know that im not trying to lecture you, or give you a hard time. I am honestly trying to help you and in order to successfully help you I have to ensure that you know things, or mention things, that is important to do. So your device isnt broken, or you get information that is correct but incorrect for your specific device.
But back to the topic originally referenced.
Q) "Is the program Dr. Fone able to bypass the screen lock security measures on the Samsung Galaxy S7?"
A) Based on limited information that is device specific, and the current Supported Devices section from Dr Fones documentation
"No"
• Dr. Fone doesnt have the capabilty to bypass your screen lock. They will probably include the S7 within a period of time due to it being a main stream phone though.
• Remember this; locks can and will be broken. Just because a vulnerabilty hasnt been exposed or discovered doesnt mean that its 100% secure.
• Keep current with OTA updates, keep in tune with tech type news.
• Encryption is vast subject, but I can refer to it like the "invisible magical ink" That was popular in the 90's. The light that reveals the ink to the naked eye, is your password. The inabilty to see the ink normally without a specific tool, would be encryption. So if someone cracked your password, your encryption would also be disabled. I linked more information below, for you to read. I still dont fully understand encryption myself, nor do I believe or trust it.
I based this information assuming your device is the SM-G930. It is accurate as possible but not guaranteed. Do realize with the information I mentioned and with the question you asked. I was able to do a simple Google search and almost immediately found the answers. Try to figure things out before you ask in the future. You can repeat the process of not researching prior to posting but typically your post will die. If you get stuck and have put forth honest effort, the great people here at XDA will probably help out greatly. I hope I have helped you, and you now feel better about your concerns. please pay it foward.
If you feel ive helped or gave a honest attempt to help. Hit the thumbs up, that is the thanks button.

I'm sorry, I completely forgot to mention the model of my S7, it is the SM-G930F on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, thanks for answering me.
On the other hand, I'm disappointed that a commercial program can unlock a phone.
I hope that this way of circumventing the locking of smartphones will be solved, because malicious people could use it to unlock phones that do not belong to them ...
The only way to protect yourself from this program is to install an application that protects personal data.
Thank you again for answering!
Wondershare Dr. Fonefor unlooking thr screen.
Wondershare Dr. Fone is a powerful instrument to regain iPhone lost information, it can help scan and recover them from iTunes or iCloud copies in case you've got backup your iPhone into iTunes or iCloud, or it helps you regain contacts directly from the device. Besides it's harmonious with iPhone 5s/5c/4S/ / 4/3GS and it might recover 18 kinds of content such as pictures, videos, contacts, messages, notes, and phone log, voicemail, voice memos, calendars, reminders, etc.. :good:
I agree with you. A commercial program available for a few dollars can unlock a password protected phone. What is Android/ios waiting to solve this threat?
