Hello everybody, I am a too fresh member called Yaqub, coming from Burkina in Western Africa. I am happy to be here and appreciate all your great works that helped many times. Thanks from the biggest to the smallest of you! I would like to know if here is the best place to send questions asking for help to solve a phone problem. Thanks
Hi, and welcome to the XDA forums.
XDA Assist is meant for pointing people in the right direction to find the answers to their issues. We don't actually offer actual technical help here unless it is a simple solution.
We point the users here to the proper forums to post to so that they have a general idea of where to look for answers, and ask if the can't find the answer they need by searching that forum/thread.
If you tell me the model of phone that you have, I could suggest a better place to search for answers, and also to post to if you can't find one.

Welcome to XDA! Also, see the "Italian" thread in Off Topic section.
I am a newbie in this forum, so i would like to make a new member and contribute my ideas and improve my knowledge from the others.I was registered at your forum. I have printed the test message. Do not delete, please.Gee! this thread will attract many people to give more info.
Hi all, I was wondering what, if any, the equivalent of the Australian Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 (GT-I9300T upon purchase/before roming) is as far as the forums on XDA go. Just so I know where my posts are best directed. And yes I have searched extensively.
Many thanks in advance.
Festive bump.
Anyone? This would help me greatly in which forum to post questions and give answers..
Perhaps one last bump shall help my find some assistance? I've searched a lot to no success.
Or I could just post in here until I'm able to give feedback in threads that are actually relevant to me..
Yes, yes.. I'll just have a pretty little conversation with myself.
How are you Vehdrehl? Good, I hope?
Oh, why thank you for enquiring! I'm doing pretty well thank you. Just waiting around to be able to post in threads that are actually relevent. How're things on your side of the fence?
Oh hey, funny that you should mention that. I'm trying to be able to reply to someone in a thread relative to my interests as well! It's a little silly as I just want to post a helpful responce, but I guess I get why the restrictions are in place.
Well, I wish you the best of luck and hope I can merge back into you to form our true self and post in threads that are actually relevant. Here goes!
I am new here and wanted to say hello first to everyone! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
I have questions but like i said im new so not sure where to ask exactly.
I searched the whole forum but from what i've seen my device is not mentioned anywhere or at least the model i am supposed to have. Dont really know anything about these stuff so i hope this is not a really stupid question.
I recently bought and i quote from the site a Gooapple V8 MTK6575 android phone i5 but to be honest i wasnt expecting most of the apps to be in chinese. You are probably saying right now thats naive well i guess you can see what a newbie i am with this whole thing.
My question is how can i have these apps in english and working i guess this device at its best.
I've seen others posting some general info so here it goes:
Version: 6.0 (10A405)
Model Number: MD297ZP
Modem Firmware: 1.00.16
Dont know if that helps in any way but if someone can suggest or point me to the right direction i would very much appreciate it.
Thanks
Tony
For starters, welcome to XDA Developers
Since you are a new member here, I will attempt to point you in the right direction. Try this thread. I think it may get you headed in the right direction. For future reference, and you did state that you searched, there is an extreme emphasis on using Search at XDA before posting.
Good Luck
Thanks shinobisoft!
I found that thread when i was searching and i did read it but it mentions only V5 and not V8 that i have. Maybe they aren't much different. Anyway thanks again and i guess i will post there and find out more.
Cheers
Tony
Can you tell me if my last post was in the correct thread. I only ask because I had no reply.
Thank you
Todd
Hi,
That's where we'd point you to. ?
You won't always find an answer quick or at all occasionally with some devices. The more current and popular a device, the easier it is to find help. Older or less popular devices can take more time.
Just have to hope for the best. Also try using Google... Might he answers elsewhere too.
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.
I have had a few people get down on me because i feel if someone has a answer, and they put more time and energy into telling you all the reasons why they shouldn't/can't help. It just seems down right mean. I thought these forums were a place of sharing and learning to help one and another. It just seems like it is becoming less of that as time progresses. not everyone here is a "Phone wiz" and that's why they come, seeking knowledge. So what if the question has been answered already? XDA is not a small web site in its infancy anymore. It has a lot of information to surf thru. All I am saying is you know the answer is a simple do this, or see this post would be great, instead of google it, or you need to look harder. Are people that full of themselves that they are to above everyone to help some noob out? Everyone was a noob at some point. My point is lets try to help each other instead of help ourselves only. There is a good saying I once heard, "watch who you step on , on your way to the top, because they won't be there to catch you when you fall". :highfive:
Many people help on this site.... All the time and everywhere. But the ones who find help easy are the ones who also try to to help themselves first. They research, search and do their best to find answers...and then they ask for help when they're stumped.
The ones that have trouble getting help, are the ones who log in...find a thread or make one, reading nothing, searching for nothing and ask for help.
XDA is about learning, and sharing work... It's not a quick stop tech support help desk. If someone can't put in an effort to read, read... And read some more before they decide to start messing with their expensive device... Then this is not the hobby for them.
Most experienced members can spot the difference quickly between the types I've mentioned, and they interact accordingly.
Also, the site has rules... And one particular rule is not followed as often as it should be unfortunately...... That would be rule number 1: Search before posting.
And so... I'm going to close this thread now, because I can guarantee this will not be a constructive discussion. :good:
Regards,
Darth
