The Better Phone.. - General Topics

Hello All,
I'm looking at either the BLU Vivo IV 5.5mm, or the BLU Vivo Air LTE 5.1mm,
I just love the super thin design of them both.. but, I'm kind of a newb to cell tech!?
What I'm not sure about are the Chipset/CPU & GPU, I've read quite a bit about them both & I'm still not quite sure what is better!? lol
Q: Which phone is better/faster?
Specs:
BLU Vivo IV. MAY 2014. NOW $250.
Size: 5.0 inches. BETTER!
Resolution: Super AMOLED, 1080 x 1920 pixels (441 ppi). BETTER!
Chipset: Mediatek MT6592. NOT SURE?
CPU: Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A7. NOT SURE?
GPU: Mali-450MP4. NOT SURE?
Memory: 16 GB, 2 GB RAM. SAME.
Camera: 13MP/5MP. BETTER!
Battery: 2300 mAh. BETTER!
BLU Vivo Air LTE. SEP 2015. NOW $150.
Size: 4.8 inches. WORSE!
Resolution: AMOLED, 720 x 1280 pixels (306 ppi). WORSE!
Chipset: Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410. NOT SURE?
CPU: Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53. NOT SURE?
GPU: Adreno 306. NOT SURE?
Memory: 16 GB, 2 GB RAM. SAME.
Camera: 8MP/5MP. WORSE!
Battery: 2050 mAh. WORSE!
Use: I'll be using the phone for calls (1-2 a week), light gaming, would like good graphics/FPS, & using as a security device for two step authentication for online accounts etc.
Thanks for the help, Phil B.

In terms of which is faster the blu vivo iv has better specifications and is faster then the air. Also because of the airs smaller and lower res screen and lower res camera I think the iv would be the better choice. However if you want the phone as thin as possible and would like to pay a bit less then the air may not be a bad choice though I think the 4 would be better for your needs.
Just my thoughts and the choice is up to you in the ene.
Hope this helps.

Ok, so this is a MediaTek processor and PowerVR GPU. I can not see the relevance for the Ideos X6 & clone (Qualcomm CPU+GPU) development.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Nexus vs. Galaxy S II T989?

This is just for future reference, if better hardware aren't out at better prices already. Which is better? I don't really care about how "pure" the OS is, as I can just flash ROMs on any of them.
I'm most concerned with:
CPU: Qualcomm APQ8060 @ 1.5GHz vs. TI OMAP 4460 @ 1.2GHz
GPU: Qualcomm Adreno 220 vs. PowerVR SGX540

Since both have the same chipset, cpu and gpu I'd look at other features.
The display specs shows a slight advantage of the Nexus:
SII Display
Type: Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size: 480 x 800 pixels, 4.52 inches (~206 ppi pixel density)
Galaxy Nexus
Type: Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size: 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.65 inches (~316 ppi pixel density)
However, the Nexus does not offer external storage.
For me it is a deal breaker.
If for you it is not important - then the Nexus has the upper hand.
I'll choose nexus. Its not a big gap in processor and gpu i think
I already chose the SII, I have it right now.
Sent from my Samsung SGH-T989 running CM10 by TeamChopsticks.

Excuse my ignorance, but does the T989 have a significant (definitive) performance edge over the GNEX??? That changes everything for me. Now if we can only get a Jellybean update.

[Q] [HELP] Buying S3 Clone (DualCore+Mali400 / QuadCore+SGX531?)

Hi!
I wanted to try getting a samsung s3 clone. Already spotted some phone is our place having better specs but still I can decide which should I go that's why Im posting here to ask everyone who had tried this kind of phones.
My first choice and what I'm really been eyeing :
- QUAD-CORE ARMv7 PROCESSOR(VFPv3,NEON)
- SCREEN RESOLUTION: 720 x 1280
- GPU RENDERER: POWERVR SGX 531
- GPU VERSION (OPENGL): OPENGLE ES 2.0
- ANTUTU SCORE : 9789
Cant really tell exactly whats the actual CPU used but antutu doesnt detect it as any MTK cpu. The specs is really impressive except that it uses and SGX 531 for gpu at 720. I wonder if I could play NOVA 3 with this phone.
Second choice :
- CPU: Mediatek MT6577 1.4Ghz ( Dual Core )
- GPU: Mali 400 ( Quad GPU )
- RAM: 512MB DDR3
- Resolution: 720 x 1280 ( 16M Colors )
- Antutu Score : 6745
This phone has less impressive CPU but the gpu used is quite superior than of the first one. Seen someone using this and able to run NOVA 3. I know benchmark tools are not as realistic than of the actual use.
Both phones have :
- RAM: 512MB DDR3
- Storage: 4GB ROM ( 2.5GB Usable / Expandable up to 32GB Micro SD Card )
- Camera: Dual Camera 8MP Back & 1.3MP
- Connectivity: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
- SIM Card: Single SIM ( 1 Micro SIM )
- Operating System: Android v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
I really prefer to get the first one since its a quad-core and it scores a whooping 9k in antutu its only drawback is that it uses SGX531 gpu. Anybody tried playing HD games at 720p resolution with SGX531 gpu? Please tell me if NOVA 3 is playable in my first choice or should I trade the cpu for better gpu and get the second one?
Also, I was already able to watch this VIDEO i wonder if quadcore would make a difference in gameplay.
Thanks in advance for the response! :highfive:
any idea guys?

Don't buy sgx531, it's a low end gpu by today's standard. Mali400 is ALOT better and can play most games.
It's not point buying a quadcore cpu paired with a low end gpu, basically you will suffer at games.
I agree with tablighs...
