[Completed] Help with restoring backup from TWRP - XDA Assist

Hi everyone. I recently installed cyanogenmod 13 on my s4, only to find a Google play services error every few seconds. So I decided to flash Gapps 6.0 to resolve the issue. Unfortunately I got a new pop-up, "setup wizard has stopped" which rendered my phone useless. I had no choice but to reset my phone and reinstall cm13 and Gapps 6.0. My last resort backup attempt to save my stuff was a twrp backup. Now I want to restore my data, but it will also restore my broken rom that makes my phone unusable. Can anybody please help me find a way to restore my data without restoring the broken cm13.. I'll go back to cm12.1 that I was running before if need be. Thank you all so much in advance.

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
You can try restoring the /data partition only. It's recommended to do a clean flash when you move to CM13 from CM12.1

[Q] Can't restore data with nandroid

Hello everyone, I immediately apologize for my English and if I wrote in the wrong place.
I have a Nexus One (Vodafone) that I've recently rooted with the dolomiti's guide (without losing warranty). After trying for a few days cyanogen 6 rc2 I wanted to restore the backup created with Rom manager before wiping and installing cyano. Unfortunately the recovery freezes every time at "restoring data" in a file named "event_data:lotsofnumber.txt". I need to remove the battery to restart the nexus that after rebooting starts with the stock frf91.
I tried several times but always crashes at the same point ... anything I can do?Is there a chance to complete my backup?
I have the same issue, and got no troubleshot.
If I do a backup it stops saving a data_event"numbers".txt
Can anyone help in this problem, actually i can't do any backups or restore them

[Q] Help, stuck in bootloop with CM 10 ROM

So I was able to successfully root my AT&T HTC One X and decided I wanted to install the CM 10 ROM (1st ROM install). I did all the data backups with Titanium, downloaded the latest zip files from cyanogenMod (both the 12/13 and 12/14 nightly versions), transferred them to my phone, booted into recovery (TWRP), did a back-up, did a system wipe, flashed the ROM and then did a reboot. However, when it boots it gets stuck in the boot-up screen (bootloop) and doesn't do anything. I have read on this and it keeps saying to wipe system data again and flash the ROM again and it keeps doing this. I want to install this ROM, but I need some help. Any suggestions on what I did wrong?
Note: I accidentally posted this in the Android Q&A section, so I apologize for the double post. I just think this is probably the best place to get my answer.
Did you flash the boot.img?
I did, but incorrectly the first time. I flashed it the right way and everything is working good. Then only problem I have now is when restoring from Titanium Backup it gives me an error from a process called com.android.phone (I think that is what it said). So I wiped it again and rebooted and everything is fine. I can reinstall all the apps, but what could cause that? Could it be some of the data backed up doesn't cooperate with this ROM? Either way I love the CM10 ROM.

if they are backups from sense, that *MAY* cause problems, but don't quote me on that. I don't use sense, can't say for sure
OK, maybe that is why. Not a big deal since I haven't had the One X too long. Thanks for the help guys.
Good to know

I own a Galaxy Grand 2 and I use CWM for backup and restore alot while switching between roms, tho I sometimes happen to have the same problem as yours
But I managed to fix it whith a wipe data/Factory Reset after the restore is completed the n boot into the system yoy restored and then do an advance restore for data only but don't wipe anything this time!
This should help you if you still face the same problem consider changing/Upgrading your costume recovery or reflash your original firmware (usind odin) to clean the phone up (but make sure yoy don't downguard your firmware as it may softbrike your phone)
Hit the Thanks button If I helped you!
thanks for your advice. but unfortunately it didnot work for me.
i tried the way you explaint the process.

Need help urgently

Hello xda forums.
Today I decided I would flash the ROM for euphoria lollipop after a long time of being on kit kat. I backed up, system restored, and flashed the new rom and was able to boot into the OS without any issues, other than the fact that all my contacts were gone!
In an attempt to save my contacts I went back into recovery and tried to restore my backup. After doing this, when booting I would still boot into Lollipop, but the bottom bar would disappear and I wasn't able to navigate anything. After factory restoring once more to restore the backup, the backup had disappeared. Now on my phone the only thing I'm able to do is get into recovery. Is there any way for me to get the ROM onto the phone again so I can install it? The nexus 5 doesn't show up under devices and drives in 'This PC'.
Thanks in advance for your help. I really need to get my phone back up and running, even if it means having no contacts
It sounds like you wiped your entire device including the os and your backup. You're going to have to flash the factory image to get it running again. If your contacts were backed up to Google you should get term back after you install the factory image.

Your reply is very much appreciated.
How do I go about flashing the factory image?
Edit: Okay! Got everything done and Euphoria installed properly. I feel like I learned a bunch too! Thank you for your assistance!

Urgent Help BRICK NEXUS 5 !!!

So, I installed a CyanogenMod Nightly and started to get a "System UI has stopped" error message , so I proceeded to do everything possible to fix it like wipe cache and data etc. I tried to side-load and push a newer nightly to TWRP but it would comeback with device not found (or connected) so in a last hurrah I went back into recovery and did a Advance Wipe of everything including System ( I know, I want to punch myself right about now). So after wiping System now I am stuck because I have a NEXUS 5 and no other way to flash a ROM, so did I royally just screwed myself or is there a solution to this? Please I will truly appreciated if anyone could help me with this.
I most clarify that ABD and Fastboot where working fine (before the last update I did). And also I was using Cyanogenmod Nightly CAF.
