[Q] Mac spoofing

How do I spoof a mac address on my OnePlus One?
It seems to be impossible. The usual apps fail and so does a manual ifconfig shell.
Anyone got a clue on this? Help would be really appreciated.

SOLUTION!!
Ok, i've been searching for month how to spoof MAC address on our device, but anybody helped me.
So i've tried all possible steps to change the MAC address and finally i've done it!
Here's the procedure i've followed:
1. (Requirements) Have a rooted device. (i don't know if busybox is required but in doubt, install it)
2. Install a file manager (Root explorer reccomended)
3. Go in settings, wifi, tap the three point at bottom right, advanced, and disable "scanning always avaible"
4. Open Root Explorer and go in this directory: /sys/devices/fb000000.qcom.wcnss-wlan and you'll find a file called: "wcnss_mac_addr"
5. Open "wcnss_mac_addr" with text editor
6. you'll see only your current MAC address. You can just edit it (edit only last digit recomended) and Save changes.
7. Disable and re-enable Wifi, and you've just edited your MAC address! Enjoy
Important: The Mac address will restore as default everytime you reboot your phone.
sorry for the basic english because i'm italian, if you have any question please ask me.
I hope i've helped you.

Changing MAC Address Moto E2

I have a Moto E2 3G phone and I have rooted the phone recently. Although I am not able to change the MAC address of the phone. I have already tried changing the WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin file in the persist folder. Also I have using third party apps like BusyBox with Terminal Emulator and MacChanger. Please find a way and reply in the comments below.
Search ascii.txt and using a text editor change the mac of the phone to the required mac.

Working MAC spoofer solution for recent Android 6 marshmallow smartphones?

I've been looking for a working MAC spoofer solution (app/mod/patch) for a test phone running Android Marshmallow but I didn't find anything that works.
currently the test device is a LG G3 running fulmics ROM 5.0 (based on Android marshmallow / LG 30F), but it seems the matter is rather android 6.x related.
The Aim is to change/spoof temporarily or permanently the hardware MAC address of the internal network adapter (eth0, but mainly wlan0).
So there are a lot of apps out there in the market which claim to do exactly that. I tried many of them, but nothing works as intended.
To name a few of them:
- Wifi Mac Changer
- ChameleMAC
- Mac Address Ghost
- MacChanger
- MacSpoofer
- many more tested
- Phone ID Changer / Device ID Changer app/module for xposed
even the most promising one:
- Pry-Fi by chainfire
does not work, it just crashes while trying to spoof.
all of them claim to change the mac, but it's not working on this device or general on an android 6.x version.
either they crash or they fail in spoofing.
so I tried to spoof the MAC manually in a Terminal with BusyBox installed and a command like:
busybox ifconfig wlan0 hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55, checked if it worked with iplink cmd and it did. But when I try to connect to my access point, I can't join the wifi network it always neglects my pw. when I turn wifi on/off, the MAC gets reset to original hardware MAC and I can again connect to my wifi AP.
So even when trying to spoof the MAC manually it doesn't work.
And I don't know if it is a problem with Android 6.x, the device itself or the ROM i used.
Does anybody else have a working mac spoofer solution for an Android 6.x version smartphone or have an idea how to this working?
Did you also try connecting to an open network after the busybox method ? I read somewhere the pw issue was only when connecting to secured networks.
Other than that ... I'm also looking for a reliable solution. No luck so far.
Also , you might want to try / read http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-network-ghost-mac-hostname-spoofer-t3145866
Is explains why the busybox method fails with WPA networks.
thanx for the link. It was interesting.
unfortunately the app doesn't work either. so we still have no working solution or app that does spoof the mac on marshmallow devices.

[Completed] Mac Address spoofing And authentication problem

After Rooting my sony Xperia Z and got root access and tried to change my mac address with the traditional way ( busybox and terminal emulator ) and with mac address applications too. Everytime it says that my mac address have been changed i can't connect to my wifi network again i don't know why, it says : " Authentication problem " can someone help pleaseeee i have 6.0.1 Android.
thanks in advance
Hi !
I don`t really understand why did you changed the mac address and also I am concerned about how successful this attempt was
In order to do that there`s a set of permissions to be acquired , if you don`t know how to do it , you better restore to default
You can have a look at this thread
Good luck !
