[Completed] A question about home screen design... - XDA Assist

This question is not particular to a specific device. I have a phone and tablet, one on Marshmallow, one on Lollipop, and they're using the stock ROMs.
I'm trying to get a particular look and feel from my home screen that I haven't been able to get yet. I think it is mostly because of a lack of experience, creativity, and the right tutorials/direction that would help me.
A little background... I have used Themer, SSLauncher, Apex, Nova (a loooong time ago), and a few other launchers, as well as Popup Widget 2 and Zooper.
Thanks all

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Unfortunately, it may be hard for others to help you unless you are specific on the 'look and feel' you want on your home screen.
Try describing what you want in the most detail you can, and I'm sure you will find a solution.
Here are some threads where you can obtain some inspiration:

[Q] Theme co-op thread idea...

This wasn't so much a question as an idea... but forgive me if this should be in the Q&A section.
My question, or idea, which is probably not new, is this:
Can a thread be made in the themes section for members to post their screens and then ask other members/devs/themers for their advice on what to add/remove and etc.?
Sort of a "WWXDAD" (What Would XDA Do?)
To elaborate. Let's say I switch my theme to Nex by kgill, and remove all my old widgets and icons to be left with a completely blank home screen. I would then post a screen shot (and lock screen) - blank - and ask "What would you guys do if this were your phone to theme?" With other members maybe linking, referencing, or even providing icons, widget settings, etc. for that persons set up. Maybe a brief tutorial on "how to make this look like that" (e.g. overlapping widgets and weather icons, etc.)
Idk. Just a thought I had. I still have a blank screen with just the forecast on it and have no idea what I want to do with the rest of the space. Instead of being selfish and asking for myself I figured something new could be started to help other people who have that same, um, themer's block.

[Completed] Multiple home screens

I am slowly learning new customizations skills for my android phone, but recently came upon a roadblock. Is the a method or app which would allow me to display a completely different home screen in portrait and landscape modes? I currently have the Galaxy Note 3 and am running Nova Launcher. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Any help is much appreciated.
Hi,
I personally have not heard of such a thing.... But you can try asking in your devices Q&A section, here...

[Q] KitKat navigation bar is centered - can this be changed for tablets?

Hi guys,
I've searched the forum (and Google) for this but can't seem to find an answer to my question.
I've just loaded cm-11-20140625-SNAPSHOT-jcsullins-tenderloin on my HP Touchpad and everything's working A-OK (I did want to post this in the Touchpad/ROM''s forum but I'm a newbie and it looks like I'm not allowed )
The only thing that's driving me nuts is the navigation bar in KitKat, which is centered, and hard to get to when using a tablet (I can see how it makes no difference on a small phone). I'm referring to the very bottom of my first attachment.
The Back button and the other two are too far in the middle to be reachable when holding the tablet in landscape format (and not much better when in portrait) so I'm wondering whether there is a way to change this.
On previous Android versions, these three buttons were on the very left of the screen and so easily reachable without having to let go of the tablet to tap them (see second attachment):
I'm not sure if this is a KitKat thing, or if it's a ROM thing but I would appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Thanks!
--- Just realized this is the General forum and not the Q&A forum, but since I can't seem to delete or move this, can someone please move it to the Q&A forum for me? Thanks ---

Thanks, Primokorn - I checked that thread out but it seems my ROM (CM11) is not working with that UI. Which is a shame since it looks like the perfect solution to my woes!
Any other suggestions, anyone?

Ha ve a look at the index of xposed modules: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/index-xposed-modules-collection-post-t2327541
Maybe another module or a toolbox has this feature.

[Completed] [Q] HomeScreen Shortcuts/modification

Hello All,
I ve been spending the weekend customizing my Home screen . I am using Nova launchers , icon packs , xposed Gravity Box,playing with widgets etc.
I wanted to know if there was a app/Shortcut/workaround applied to the leftmost homescreen such that when i swipe right it opens an app or google now ( similar to the feature in action launcher to open goolenow).
Also is xfloatingwindows working on Lollipop and are there any good apps that I could apply only on the Leftmost and Rightmost Home Screen.
Thanks for all the Help

[Completed] Double render

Hi Guys,
Please help.
I've done a semi-custom build for a SoM based on Ti AM3354. All works well except for the landscape display.
I get a very strange "double-render" when the display change to landscape - just after the boot animation.
Please see attache photo.
I looked at changing dpi and investigated the layers in surfaceflinger - the issue seems to be caused by the animation service; but I might be totally wrong.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Louis
