I been trying to get a Verizon Galaxy S3 (d2vzw) working on Cyanogenmod in the UK. The best I've had was on CM10.2 (using CDMA/GSM patch) when I had a reasonable phone signal but no data signal from my carrier, however I always had WiFi available.
Currently the VZW Galaxy S3 is rooted on Android 4.1.2 with baseband I535VRBMF1 with CWM Recovery where I get a lowish phone signal and a data signal, carrier EE/Orange. For most daily use it's ok, however I need to change to something more useable with a better phone signal as I'm just scraping by.
Have any European members of XDA had better results with Cyanogenmod, if so would they please share the information or at least point me in the right direction.

Hi there, I am sure someone here may have had this issue, but hoping for some help.
I am on the Rogers network, I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE (SGH-i727r). I flashed the RC5, and the gapps RC4, everything ok other than the gapps did not load the gmail, google play books, etc. Not a biggie, I downloaded everything again.
My big issue is that I don't have any LTE. I do have an LTE plan, but I only got H+ & even then, it was spotty, usually stuck on 3G. Is this something that can be adjusted or am I stuck with it like this until ROgers comes out with an official jellybean release? I checked out the AT&T sites & it says that the skyrocket (which this ROM is designed for) does get LTE, but seems I am not getting it.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks a bunch for all the work on the release!

Try to set the APN to LTE or you could flash new radio
Hi. I'm currently on Carbon 1.8 (Android 4.2.2) and I've noticed that in an Extended Network area that my stock Razr Maxx HD would show 4G (part of Verizon's LTE in Rural America thing) it shows an R as if I'm roaming. This has happened on other 4.2.2 ROMs which is why I have always went back to stock. I'm sick of stock now and want to use a 4.2.2 ROM but can't stand that little R. Does anyone know how I can get my phone to display 4G instead of R? I am definitely in a LTE area. I've tried searching everywhere and it seems like no one else has come across this. Thanks.
Edit: I've also noticed that on stock under Settings/About Phone/Status/Roaming it says I'm not roaming but it says I am roaming on the two 4.2.2 ROMs I've tried (Carbon and Eclipse). How do I make it say I'm not roaming like on stock?
I am owning a i9505. But the signal is very bad when I am in the school building. Since my current carrier is H2O Wireless, which is using AT&T 's signal, I am wondering if I can flash SGH-i337(att version galaxy s4) modem to make the signal better.

No, you will brick your phone. The problem here is not the modem... Its the concrete the structure is made of and lack of any repeater to bring cell signal in.

Hi everyone - I have a Verizon S3 that I use without any trouble here in the UK. My network (Three Mobile) will soon be turning on their 4G system, and everyone with a 4G device will be able to use it - including me. The only problem is that in order to use 4G you need an OTA update - whether this update is an actual firmware update or just changes to the APN settings, Three don't seem to want to tell me (or more likely, the Three reps don't know).
This OTA update is only going to be sent to Three branded phones and unbranded phones - meaning my Verizon S3 isn't going to get 4G enabled if I leave it as it is.
What I'm wondering, is if there's a way to load the Verizon S3 4G LTE with a standard Samsung ROM that's totally unbranded. That way I should be able to get Three's update and use 4G.
I'm new to this, and I've never flashed a phone before - all Google seems to bring up is Cyanogenmod, but I think that's a bit more custom than I want - I'm looking for something totally vanilla minus the Verizon junk. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? And has anyone used a flashed Verizon S3 in Europe?

I see that it's based on "the latest Verizon released VRBMF1 Jellybean 4.1.2 Base and is De-Odex" - does this mean it will still appear to be a Verizon branded phone? Any ideas?

I have a s4 running stock, and it only gets 3g on verizon. It is set for lte and i have swapped sims from other 4g phones and get 3g with those sims. I get great 4g service in my home so the signal is there to be had. Got a new sim from verizon and while in the store i got 4g. Guy in store says that they have some sort of booster there since they don't get great service in the building. Now after leaving building I have only 3g again. Samsung support says i should upgrade to 5.0.1 ( currently running 4.4.2) but i am not interested in doing that. Anyone have any ideas on how or what might be going on.
