Bootloop problem !! Please help me !! htc sensation S-ON BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED

Hi,
I bought a htc sensation .I wanted to install a custom rom but unknowingly i upgraded to ICS. Now my HBOOT version is 1.27 n i could not find revolutionary for it !! Bootloader unlocked but its still S-on I installed clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.0 n followed a thread to root my phone but ended up in bootloop! though i tried to restore i cannot come out of bootloop ! Plz help me plz plz !!

Sorry,revolutionary does not work with 1.27 yet.
Apparently ,it will come soon,but there is no eta.
There is a possibility to root,but it involves using HTC DEV

Ok !! but my phone is not rooted is that okay?? or shud i root it with some method ? after installing CWM 5.0.2 n superuser i checked with "root check basic" and it said that i dont have root access !! only after this i tried to install a rom n ended up in bootloop

Hi,
What ROM did you try to install?
I recommend you try to install ARHD 6.6.2
It will install root and 4EXT recovery.

Hi,
There has been a whole spate of these problems recently.
From what I can make out,the only way you can proceed is to use HTC DEV.
This is not a good thing ,because they then know what you have done,and you stand little chance if you attempt to return the phone under warranty.
So, the decision is yours.
Wait until someone figures a way to s-off 1.27
Or go with the HTC DEV method,which will then allow you to root and install custom ROMS that have a 3.32 base.

if you have unlocked bootloader by HTCdev then you can still install custom roms but only which support stock kernel like ARHD
you can just flash ARHD with stock kernel option(this is important ) through recovery... provided that you have updated firmware (3.32....)

- i had experience this problem. Try deleting the pg581img.zip from the sdcard and then reboot.

Hi,
You need to flash the boot.img (which you can get by unzipping it from the rom .zip) via fastboot.
Install the rom first as usual on 4EXT, and then:
- Extract the boot.img and place it on your adb PC folder
- Start Sensation on fastboot usb
- Flash the boot.img: fastboot flash boot boot.img
- Reboot
If the rom you want to install has choices for custom kernels, you have to extract the .img which match the kernel you choose at rom install and flash it via fastboot as described.
If you don't do this way you will be stuck at bootloops.
The explanation of this is, as you have unlocked via HTCdev method and still s-on, the kernel are not flashed in boot partition when you install the rom from recovery, but you can flash it by using adb/fastboot from the command line.

I downloaded and installed a stock ROM from mike1986 thread !! Before installing i cleared the cache data/factory reset and delvik's cache from recovery and then
- Extract the boot.img and place it on your adb PC folder

- Reboot

I have HTC Sensation GSM, updated to the ICS now my hboot is 1.27, I kind of have the same problem, bootloader is unlocked, s-on, unlocked by HTC DEV method, when I go to recovery nothing appears, only black screen with triangle and question mark inside it. Can you help me plz!!???

you got stock recovery so you need to have custom recovery
4EXT is good one so
flash the recovery / install recovery from this thread
recovery here
its a apk...so just download it to your sd card and install it....when installing it'll ask you whether you are s-on or not...say "yes" -> this is pretty important
after that you can download the rom and install it...as per the steps provided by "htcsensationz710e"
if you got doubts..let me know

Ahh man you can't do soff as of now.
The development for downgrading is still in progress....check the thread "beta over unbricking sensation...." In android development section.
As for your bootloader is unlocked via HTC dev so its not unlocked completely...but you can install custom ics roms..but for that you need to update HBOOT from 1.23 to 1.27 (just to make sure this supports ics roms completely)
Let me know what you want actually so that I can guide you further

What do you want to do now?
Do you want to update to ics?
Then you need to update your firmware/build number to 3.32 .

ohh sorry ....i've completely focused on screen shots so didnt check your OP properly
now that you have S-ON and HTC unlocked bootloader
flashing/updating firmware through traditional way(using PG58IMG.zip ) is not possible for you.
the only way for you to update the firmware is by Running RUU...which is cid dependent
as you are super CID you can flash/run any RUU (RUU.exe)
but before doing that first off all do a nandroid backup if you have custom recovery installed
then you need to relock your bootloader (may not be required but just to be safe)
then you should run the RUU (any ICS RUU would do for you as you are Supercid )
you can find the ICS RUU's from here
i highly recommend using "RUU​_PYRAMID​_ICS​_HTC​_Europe​_3.32​.401​.5_Radio​_11.69​.3504​..." as this is for unbranded sensation which is deprived of all carrier bloatware
NOTE:if your phone is XE version then use "RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.105_R_Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M_release_251961_signed.exe"
EDIT: btw you need to run RUU with phone connected to computer in fastboot mode (i.e. fastboot usb)

that RUU is HTC official ONE
its called "ROM UPDATE UTILITY" so ofcourse you wont have any problems...if it has any errors it simply exists and it wont screw up your device for sure

That's fine any way we are going to install insertcoin ics Rom right so no probs.....can you verify your cid again...also unlock your bootloader again and Download the latest insertcoin ics Rom ...we'll install ics

defining "BEST" rom is like defining "WOMEN"
each one have their own preferences...and their own pros and cons
Insertcoin and ARHD are near to stock ICS with tons of optimization...both are awesomely good ...and they are awesomely stable...
there are sense 4 roms (ported) like ordroid...insert coin sense 4 rom...etc etc...
also there are lot of AOSP roms... (AOSP are like stock android .)
bottom line is you need to decide it yourself
as for the recovery ...i recommend 4EXT as i feel it is better than CWM
also installing 4EXT is much easier imo
just go to this forum and download recovery updater apk...
then install recovery from apk
remember to say "yes" when it asks whether you are s-on are not

I'm sorry I use this thread to ask you. If the OP wants I delete this post.
Anyway, I'm on a similar situation as OP describes. I'm stuck on hboot 1.21.0001, unlocked bootloader and S-ON, my CID is BSTAR301, and want to upgrade firmware to be able to install ICS custom roms because revolutionary doesn't work on my hboot version.
Also, all attempts to get supercid failed.
Do you know which RUU I can use to upgrade firmware to 3.32?

Dude I Downloaded The XE RUU N Flashed It .... now my htc sensation xe is running stock ics 4.03 with sence 3.6
I Like It over here .. I Dnt Want to Install any cuStom Rom ..

Currently am in 1.23 hdboot (sensation xe) rom ARHD 6.63 radio 11.19.3504.29_2............... i went to update it 1.27 with latest Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M
after updating htc which screen random restarts. i tried installing ARHD 6.63 rom. still no luck.... any way to get it worked........ i want to update it to latest radio n hdboot..... pls help

post your all HBOOT details here
also post your cid ...
if you have adb/fastboot setup
then go to fastboot on device ,connect it to pc and type
"fastboot getvar all" ...print all the stuff...except serial number and imei
then ill guide you further

ok right now you are using ARHD 6.6.3 right...then do this
get 3.32 firmware (PG58IMG.zip) from this thread
to install:
1.put the PG58IMG.zip file (don't rename the file after download) on the top/root of sdcard
2.boot into bootloader
the bootloader finds the file and asks you whether you want to update or not...say yes
3.once update is done...it asks you to reboot ...so reboot
4.now if phone reboots properly...which it should....then immediately delete the PG58IMG.zip
by using any file explorer
if the phone is still bootlooping...the remove the sdcard and then go to bootloader
if its still bootlooping then join the irc..ill help you further

I can't add any more information than anyone else has other than to say that following a carrier repair my phone came back with 1.27 and I'm happily back onto ARHD; these forums are a god send!

Hi guys. I just want to ask. Is there's anybody who have a stock ICS RUU for hTC sensation XE Asia region worldwide?

Hi,
You are s-off and supercid.
You should be able to run any RUU you like.

hi i have tried that:
" RUU-Pyramid-LE-ICS-35-hTC-Europe-3.33.401.153-Radio-11.76A.3504.00U-11.24A.3504.31-M-release-281004-signed.exe "
but it dont have greek menu.. if i downgrate to this ruu:
"RUU-Pyramid-LE-hTC-Europe-1.73.401.4-Radio-10.58.9035.00U-10.15.9035.02-2-release-220036-signed.exe"
and change the cid with greek one and use the FOTA it will go back to greek?

I am from India .. I am facing same problem with my sensation XE my bluetooth is turning on but not visible to other devices.. Also when i try to switch on the wifi it gives me error .. Really dont know what i am suppose to do .. Please help me..

try from recovery to wipe dalvik+cache
if that fails flash the boot.img via fastboot command
otherwise reflash the rom
also gently lift the pins just above camera on the back of the phone ..that might help with WiFi and Bluetooth
note:are you rooted or completely stock?

I am on rooted version...
But still dont know ho to install the recovery and new rom ..

from this guide do only step 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861 (flashing a recovery)
to flash a custom rom:
place the rom.zip in your sdcard
reboot to recovery
make a nandroid backup just in case
format all partitions except sdcard
enable smartflash from 4ext(only if you are on S-ON)
install zip from sdcard
choose zip from sdcard
navigate to the rom.zip and install it
reboot
done

Hello , my devices is Htc Sensation XE z715E , ı unlocked from Htc Dev but now when ı starting Controlbear.exe ı get no root messages then ı Flashed kernel from One_X_All-In-One_Kit_v1.0 programs . And now ı cant running bootloader my devices cant opening ...
I tried to flash CWM 5.8.6... Its Done !
I tried to flash Rom , superuser.arm , PG58IMG Thats okey buut when ı reboot my phone its not running its stop Hts Flash...
I tried everytime to S-OFF do but ı cannot doid from Controlbear 0.7 Beta or 0.5\0.6 ...
I want to do S-OFF and ı want to do flash rom , anybody can help me please ? İts not my phone ((

I Flashed 4Ext and ı also enable smartflash fom 4ext . Then I flashed your stock rom but ıt doesnt be work , ı also try again but it isnt worked
Now what ı will be do ?

did you choose format all partitons except sdcard before flashing the rom?
try this now
from the same guide follow extra 1 step: flashing boot.img
see how it goes

And one more question , can ı flash another ruu,roms? From 4ext? Maybe Android 4.2.2 Sultan Kernel , MİUİ V5 4.2.7 ?
Because this rom gettin many problems and in time its begin slow that's why ı want ı want to tryed to do S-OFF to flash another roms

congratulations mate
first don't get confused
ruu.exe and flashable rom.zip from recovery are different things
ruu.exe is the official rom
now in order to S-OFF you have to do it while on stock rom(only in stock rom S-OFF works)
but again you can change your rom as your are now
just follow the same steps i gave you before
