No, there is no HTC Car app on play store for A9. But you can download apk from the website: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/car/
Not sure if it functions well.
I am using the HTC Car app that I backed up with Titanium on the M9 with my G4, it works well with the ported Music app from Xpirt, though after a while it can have micro-stuttering in the sound, a cache cleansing of the app is the solution.
I expected HTC to give the choice to install it from Playstore for the A9 though. I hope they will keep this app in future phones because it's one of the thing that push me to buy an HTC.

no it wont work . It will only work for htc phones. Motorola's equivalent app is social networking
Get the paid version of launcher pro it has friends stream widget built in.

With Titanium backup... long tap on the app for unlink.
If you want link the app in the market then you can choice "Market doctor".

Only thing is, you can't turn facebook chat notifications off from the android app, so I get notifications from both. Also you can't see who's online.
Will we get updates for this being as though it's not installed through the market?

Not complaining about it as I personally think it's fantastic... I've stopped using the official facebook app now which has fixed the double notification issue. I use friendcaster now which is much better in my opinion, I set friendcaster to notify me of a new message then when you click on the pop up it takes you into the messenger app! I just hope they update so that we can see who's online.
Finally is anyone else getting the message that there's an update? Anyone have the apk for that?

Oh OK I tried this one way with an app called market enabler which requires root it actually opens the app then it says not supported in you country/ service provider then closes

So Nova just got an update that supports OK Google and it works flawlessly. It was the one item I was jealous of from the Moto phones.

No - that's a hardware issue though. There's another thread complaining about how our phone doesn't have that capability while the OnePlus One does.

I wonder if that can be solved with a "Mic always on" type script.
When it first came out, I thought the MOTO X was the only one that could do it.
But my old RAZR MAXX (Not HD) would do the OK Google thing when I loaded CM11 on it. Shocked the hell out of me.

There is an Xposed Module that enables the OK google command for just about any third party launcher. Sense launcher, Apex, Nova, and just about every other launcher you can think of. Simple, install Xposed framework, enable, reboot. Install Ok google module, enable, reboot, done. It's cool that Nova natively supports it now though. I'm sure Apex will follow suit. That was the only feature that had me using the otherwise crappy GEL launcher.
