Want to use g900t on metropcs..help please. - General Questions and Answers

I have a g900t from Tmobile I repaired the imei everything works just fine I gave it to a friend of mine thinking since he had metropcs he can just pop in his SIM card and it would work just fine but it doesn't.. I unlocked the sim the same day I repaired the imei.. When my friend told me it was not working I found it strAnge so he brought it back and when I checked it out it does not get any metro signal nor did setting the apn help either...but when I put in another metro sim that I had laying around it did allow me to call metro customer care for some reason it's his sim that will not jump on metro network they are both metro sims his is activated but won't work on the phone and the one that I had lying that is not activated does at least allow you to contact metropcs if it's in the phone...I know.. Just get another sim rite? I guess that what I will do.. But first I would like some info or a solution instead of buying that outragousely expensive SIM card "$5" and solid ideas anyone? A working solution? And bye the way I used a z3x to unlock sim... How do I get HIS sim working without driving two giant blocks or walking five eternal minutes? To buy a new sim... The phone works fine with att, tmobile, and so far the two metro sims that are used but not connected anymore.. Thanx for reading...

Unlocked Tilt and No Service on T-Mobile Sim

I have just unlocked my tilt with Kaiser SimUnlocker. I put my T-Mobile sim card but no connection. Always searching... I put my friends Cingular sim card (old at&t) and still no connection. So I thought my phone was broken so I took it to local AT&T store and one of the rep says 'maybe it's the sim card'. And he grabs one of his new AT&T sim card and voila! connected. Have anyone had that problem? What can I do to fix this? My T-Mobile sim card is says 38.01e on the card next to my sim serial number. Is it my sim card? Do I have to get a new sim card? I've just got this sim card about 2 months ago. Any suggestion?
I assume you reflashed an appropriate radio after unlocking?
I would try flashing a new radio anyway to see if that sorts your problem.
I've tried severa different radio roms with no luck. Right now I've reflashed back to US At&T rom. I still no clue why my T-Mobile sim will not connect to the network...
On AT&T, the tilt requires the newer AT&T 3G cards - thus probably why the Cingular card didn't work. Are you sure the SIM unlock process worked for you? If your T-mobile SIM is that new, I can't imagine you needing a new T-Mobile SIM. The T-Mobile SIM has worked in another phone?

That's strange b/c my Cingular card works on my tilt.
I unlocked my AT&T Tilt and then put in my (almost 1 year old) t-mobile sim card and it worked immediately without any problems. I used the original radio as directed in the unlocking tutorial. So it sounds like maybe you should do the unlocking procedure again. ?
Hope this helps,
stacy
did you even try putting ur sim into another phone and see if it works? just making sure u covered everything here
Maybe you are locked into 3G
Go under Phone/Options/Band and make sure the top is either set to Auto or GSM
Thanks for all the replys...
I have tried just about everything...
I know it's unlock b/c it does not ask for unlock code no more. I have hp hw6945 that is also unlocked and works perfect in there. It connects almost instantly so I know my sim card works too. Also tried changing band setting to Auto and 900/1800 and everything and no luck... Going crazy and frustrated... about to just sell it to some at&t user and buy a new one, try again.
Just to let you xda'ers know that when I tried to unlock it for the first time I tried with spl-1.56 on it as a factory (dummy me) then tried SuperCid unlock which changed to spl-1.0 then proceded with rest of the unlock. Maybe that messed something up?
I've had that issue but my sim card with t-mobile was 4 years old. Had to purchase a new sim card and everything worked fine after that. With my old sim card, the tilt wouldn't even recognize the card.
Anybody want to donate an old T-Mobile SIM to me
buddy had same issue just happen.. he had to go to tmobile and show them the sim wasnt working they gave him a new @ no charge
I had a old cingular card that came with my Razr and it worked fine in my 8525 Hermes, but it said no service in my 8925 tilt. I would try a new t-mobile card.

sim crash

i've looked through tons of threads and can't figure this out so i thought i'd ask. i rooted my friends galaxy s captivate 2.2 froyo and unlocked his sim flawless with one click. now the sim he has from his gophone says "sim crash" call support etc....when booting up. is a gophone sim not compatible? i've read on ONE thread out of 50 that it isn't, so what prepaid sim's can he use? straight talk and gophone's are the only one's with service in our rural area. i appreciate any help. thanks very much.
we just tried my verizon plan phone sim and it didn't work. i didn't even know verizon had a sim until that point.
It is saying so, that SIM card is crashed because your phone has not unlocked properly. Try to put another SIM or if not work get it unlocked properly but it is definitely a problem because you have not unlocked your phone properly.

Ive only ran into the "sim crash" issue back when I wroked for att. Right before I stopped working there att started locking the sims for a set period for gophones that came with credit to cut loses from people getting the credit & reselling the phone etc. A new sim may resolve th issue.

[Q] Android prepaid sim card issue, Sharp FX Plus asd1

Hey all, my mom just got an unlocked AT&T Sharp FX Plus asd1 android 2.2 phone to replace her old phone. She uses AT&T prepaid service so when I was setting it up for her I just used my T-mobile sim card with a data plan which worked fine but when I put her sim in all I get is a sim card icon in the notification bar with an exclamation point. But the weird thing is not only is it an AT&T phone but it came unlocked and I rooted it I even did a factory reset but still nothing. Her prepaid sim card works on my rooted T-mobile G2 no problem I'm not really sure what to do she could I suppose get a tmobile prepaid sim card but I don't want to have her buy more stuff for something she may not be able to use. I thought of updating it to 2.3 like my phone but besides rooting it there is little in the way of development I really don't wanna have to tell her she's gotta sell it to get her money back. This shouldn't be that hard I've done stuff like this b4 with no problems what so ever am I missing something? Any info you guys could give me would be awesome and thanks in advance.
Call att and tell them you are changing phones. They have been locking sim cards to IMEI as of late.

Hey i have the same phone an unlocked AT&T SHARP FX PLUS but my problem is I can't get it to register with the tmobile service i have. I still got texts and calls but it wont connect to my gmail account and im afraid it may be charging me when im on an unlimited plan. Just wondering how you got it to work with your tmobile sim or if anyone else knows what i can do.

straight talk ridiculous!!!!

i have been on the phone on and off with them for well over 8 hours today!!! here's the deal... i tried to use the tmobile sim. cut the card perfectly and the phone didnt recognize the card. obvious, i damaged the card. i already activated that tmobile sim card and i ported my old at&t phone number. so... i pop in the mini sim at&t card for straight talk in the phone... i sit on the phone forever trying to talk to technical support(im actually on the phone now with these idiots)... i finally speak to someone and they activate the sim card. tell me to wait 10 minutes then cut the phone off and then on. this occurred about 2 hours ago. the phone recognizes the sim but it says no service. what do i do? im sick to death of waiting online. this phone i have is the international one x. i had no problems with at&t pay as you go. anybody have these kinds of problems? please help before i chop all my fingers and feed them to my oscar
So...... what even happened ?
You originally wanted to activate with T-Mobile, yes ? But then you broke the SIM card and are trying to activate on Straight Talk ?
How did you activate the T-Mobile SIM and port the number when it wasn't even in the phone ?
You should consider using Google Voice and porting your number there so you don't have to worry about changing numbers on the actual phone again.
Otherwise, this sounds like an issue that only their customer service is going to be able to resolve. Porting a number can take a while, and it's possible there are complications if you just did it two times in a row. I don't know if the phone's supposed to use an assigned number before that or if you just have to wait.
Did you check your account on-line to see if it shows you as activated or whatever ?

Unable to use my phone on wind after contacting them

Hi. I realy need some help now.
It all started when I brought my own phone the Xperia Z Ultra to wind and got a sim card from them. I notice the internet wasn't fast so I called them up to help diagnose it. They told me to shut off my phone, take out the sim card, put it back in and turn on my phone again. After I did that I got an invalid sim. Wind no longer works with my phone now. I tried replacing the sim card but it didn't work. I tried other sim cards from different providers and they all work, just not wind. I called them up and accuse them of blocking my phone from their network. I ended up getting a phone from them to use their network after my contract with Bell ended.
Can you guys here at XDA help me ou?
