I've got a goclever quantum2 400(rooted) with android 4.4.2 installed on it and from the beginning I've got a problem with the facebook app. It completely crashes and the notofication/status bar is disappearing, to fix this I have to reboot my device, and that is pretty annoying. Can I somehow fix this?
That's because of the 1gb ram and fb app uses a lot of ram which can cause crashing, u could try fb lite or uc browser (has fb notifications, I use this) or even better flash a custom rom n kernel to manage ur ram better.

I got Samsung galaxy y with 290MB of RAM, but unfortunately, when I installed some apps, multitasking became impossible, None of my work runs in background, . RAM is all the time occupied by Go sms, Launcher pro (Needed) google maps, system sync, software update, DRM contents, Email. sns, SyncmIDS ( I dont need them all)
Even clearing RAM and force closing these apps results nothing.....
Any help, ???

Most useless post?
I got the same phone and it's SWEET!
@OP: First of all uninstall GOsms. Go apps are real RAM sharks and should be left to users like atticusmas.
Then root your phone, install SD Maid and clean up your device. Uninstall apps like Maps, Software Update, Google Backup(if you're not using it), etc. A guide line on which apps are safe to uninstall can be found here.
You can also consider installing a custom ROM (Creed's and Repencis are the best ones - many features and fast as lightning (tested by me )).
Whether or not you install a custom ROM is up to you but the one thing you HAVE to install is V6 Supercharger. It will solve all your problems.
And feel free to thank me
Installing a custom Rom will solve this problem to some extent ?

Most certainly.
But cleaning up your system and installing V6 will be enough to get you running. Use V6 no matter what. It's gonna make you fly.
And honestly uninstall GO sms.
If you want I can also send you my self made ROM. I reduced it to a minimum.

Well I am too late to answer your problem, but still my post might help someone else.
I myself am using galaxy y and implemented the below described tweak and ended with a successful result.
Clearing Memory before this tweak would just drop to 156 mb to the maximum but after this tweak it goes to 101 or even below 90 mb easily.
You can use a tweak to overcome your problem.
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
As you have your phone rooted, go to /system/build.prop and edit it with a text editor (You can use Root Manager for this process) and add this line at the bottom of the page
"ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1" (without quotes)
After adding this line carefully reboot your phone and clear memory with your phone's task manager and you can observe a much of ram left.
CAUTION: DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG WITH YOUR PHONE.

For all the BlackBerry had in getting their Blackberry Messenger ready to compete against the likes of Whatsapp on Android and iOS it stills remains a poorly coded app. After their last update things really took a turn for the worse as i noticed that for my Nova Launcher seemed to redraw itself more regularly on my Galaxy Note 3 which has 3GB of on board RAM. On checking the Application manager i found the culprit which had managed to use over 300MB of RAM, rebooting my phone seemed to solve the problem but three hours later and a few messages sent it had managed to use 210MB of RAM, which is ridiculous considering that this is just a mere chat app not a graphics intensive game, comparing it to the other chats that i had on my phone like Whatsapp which used about 10MB of RAM and Facebook messenger which used just a little above 24MB.
uninstall it.
usless.

Clear ram and back to 10mb (bbm)
Hiii
I'm having problem with "deasapearing ram" Every 2-3 days i've to restart phone completly becouse when i check in working apps settings i've like 40-80 free ram. in use is about 780-820 mb. it does not add up to 1gb anyway. So when i have so little ram to use apps are force to close, mx player, some ****ty family guy app even chrome is closing down. apps like app killer are not helping tehy free like about 10-60 mb. anyone noticed something like me, any advice?
I think it is the phone, I have the same problem :/

i did it already through pc companion suite. no help at all.
Maybe root and uninstall bloatware can help you with this situation
this problem probaly because of too many background apps
and one more thing .. linux based OS , ram always been used everytime
you can disable some apps like google maps or integrated apps that u dont use
I have the similar problem with my RAM. As 1st, RAM is always at 70% usage.
How can i disable some applications permanently so they do not run by themselves? I dont want to unninstal them, just disable them, is it possible and if it is can u please tell me how to do it in few short steps.
Second thing, beside other apps i have installed Facebook, WhatsApp and CleanMaster app. Every time i go Settings -> Aplications -> Running Aplications, there are these 3 apps always running. I dont know whats causing them to be opened at all times. I think if i open Facebook (for example) even once, it stays up and running in background even if i remove it from that Dock Menu Tab by sliding it a side.
Is there anything i can do to make this stop, and save some of my RAM free?
Thanks in advance
4.3 is the worst from all versions in terms of memory handling. On top of that it comes very heavy on memory foot-print right after booting up.
After booting up your phone has about 300 - 350 Mb left to work with. Open your Navigation app and your browser, and the memory of your phone is "done". The happy apps reshuffling starts, causing screen lag and app start-up delay.
When a phone app with1 mB in size was considered big, and 5 mB of RAM consumption enormous, than shuffling things around was no prob. Now shuffle a 240 mB Navi app out of the memory, and replace it with that 70 mB home launcher when you are done. Takes the same time and is the same, right? And users have no clue how memory is used, right? And if so many complain about memory handling? But still, Many will tell us "unused RAM is wasted RAM".
What can you do?
- Root your pone and remove all apps you don't need, diligently and consequently
- Greenify user apps, in particular those which you do not need always.
- Rethink if you need to be on Viber, Whatsapp and Skype constanly. If not, greenify.
- Access Facebook from a browser, ditto for other functions and apps where a website is availabe and mostly does the same
- When installing a new app always go for the smaller one that just does what you need to do. Not the one with all the function that you could need, and not the one with more eye candy.
certain apps on android are a no-no. For example, facebook (from what I've heard) and skype use lots of resources and slow down the phone. You should disable or uninstall any app that isn't of use to you. To check the RAM usage of apps and disable them, go to settings -> apps, running will show you current apps, and if you go in all apps you can scroll through them and disable unneeded apps.

Search for an app that lets you manage startup apps on boot. Another way is Greenify, as it unloads apps from memory.
BTW. Cleanmaster is redundant in my eyes.
Thank you very much, this helped a lot.
i've disabled around 15 apps, some sony crap and stuff what i know what it is and i don't use. still the same.
Nexus 5 is an Awesome device no doubt but ..
From over a week my ram usage is increased
I only got 300 to 400. Mb left .....
Mainly use app
Fb for groups
Fb for android
Fb messenger
Whats app
Browser chrome
How is that an issue? RAM is supposed to be used up. That's how apps are stored in memory do you can quickly multitask. Reboot and it will drop until you open apps again.
You can try background process limit and don't keep activities button on developer settings

After that it it start to hang up.
Sometimes system takes over gb
Letters are bugged on my facebook app, its not bugged all of the time but after like 10 mins of using it gets bugged.
You may have a RAM issue. Facebook is an insanely HUGE app at over 250MB and for nothing really apart from data-mining and spying. It is just a glorified Webkit browser, so there is no need for that much code. Install Facebook Messenger Lite from apkmirror.com as it is only 20MB. Use an actual mobile browser for the Facebook website for posting and such. It may be that your device cannot provide enough resources, or there is a RAM error at the top end so you start getting corrupted fonts as the app uses up more and more memory. Just a guess.
