Are “My Xperia Theft Protection” (MXTP) available in Xperia Z5 compact? - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I just bought new Xperia Z5 compact. But i don't know MNTP is included in this device or not?
Please help to answer my question
I found My Xperia in the setting. But not sure MXTP worked. How can i test it?
(Just lost Z3 before) :crying:

AFAIK no. The reason I'm saying this is that my Z4 tablet says protected on myxperia website but my Z5 doesn't. I would love someone to correct me on that

Sony "Kill" Xperia C ?

at the MWC, sony release Xperia M2, and the price is very competitive, about 220 to 300 euro (not official)
i think sony want to "Kill" Xperia C :crying:
and the Xperia M2 spec is better than Xperia C. especially, the processor are Snapdragon. as you know, if the processor are snapdragon, we can unlock the bootloader for the development
what do you think about it?
Is M2 a dualsim?

Root xperia m2 2303

How to root xperia m2 D2303?I have unlocked bootloader, android 4.3, 18.0.C.1.13.
At this time there is no way for rooting this device! We have to wait or build our own rootkit for the device, but that's not simple. I will try to build this in my holidays next week. Wish me luck!
good luck !!!

sorry for my noobs question and bad english. I'm curious, why is some devices has root access and some others don't. As far i know most of xperia series has root access, now i'm using a sony xperia MT271 (sola).
another question, which one the best of this 2 models, Xperia M2 or Moto G.. I see their spesification much like the same.
thank you

The Xperia M2 is a New device and developement for the device is just in the beginning. Rootaccess is not a simple thing, you have to modify the kernel! But it's going on, no worry!
But in all cases, Sony is the better choice.

You can't. There's currently no way to back up drm/ta keys on any of the x range as there's no lollipop firmware for ivyroot as all x models come with mm.
Root is available in both single and dual sim xa and xa ultra models but you'll have to permanently loose the ta keys when you unlock the bootloader which is something I'm not prepared to do just yet(made that mistake before)
Loosing the keys effects bravia engine, and camera performance in low light conditions but there's the drm fix that all the z3+ and z5 owners use(note this doesn't replace any ta keys) it just tricks the device into emulating that they are there for the camera and bravia engine x-reality

I repeat again, read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/xperia-z1-z2-z3-series-devices-drm-t2930672
and flash the zip for Z3+ in TWRP. It will work on ALL XA and Ultra, F3116 too! Look my screenshot for the result.

I had installed zip for Z3+ (TWRP) but nothing happened.
XA1 ?
Will it work on the XA1 ? (G3121)
It restores Xperia Care and Xperia Services ?
Thanks
The Z3+ trick doesn't work anymore on 33.3.A.1.115 (N), security test returns all unknown errors.

It's on xperifirm. But you can't flash it with Flashtool as it seems it doesn't support Nougat yet.
They manage to get it by flashing a MM firmware of the same region where Nougat is released and received the update.
I haven't checked if there is an update for the XZ

Wtf is wrong with Sony.
Surely the leader.of the pack - the XZ should get it first.
Really disappointed regardless of there reasoning behind this.
Absolutely stupid
yes....it's absourd. XZ is the flagship...and they had to think to it first of all.

I don't think it's wrong on their part, you see the concept/beta of nougat were deployed on the X series devices only.
So it makes sense to release the stable one to the X Performance as it was already completed & bug free.
We should see the update to our devices in a few days, I'm certain.
I'm just happy they did not linger onto March this time for a Major android update, like in the past.
Congratulations Guys, Nougat update for the Xperia XZ Dual is here
Single sim CE still nothing. So if U install it give us a feedback about news.

XZ now has 7.0 released and there is a discussion thread here. Please continue in that thread. (I know this was here first, but this was a question about when it gets here, the new thread is in the general section and is about the release.)
