My wifi is stuck on "turning on" after getting reset multiple times automatically. I have the logs. How to attach ?
Does wifi work with any other ROMs?
I have the same problem... And now i played with my device and figured out that my mac address is 02:00:00:00:00:00... And after a while it is normal... What about that, is it possible that wifi antenna is faulty, not the chip...or motherboard... Because everything works normal...
If the phone has never been dropped or bumped, it's unlikely there would be a problem with the wifi antenna but it is possible that so,etching came loose over time.
I suggest trying a couple of other ROMs to see if wifi works. If it still doesn't work, dismantle the phone and look for loose connections. If everything appears fine, i would conclude that the wifi chip is defective.

Ok so it seems many people have some complaints about the WiFi on the One X but from what I have found, no one has the same problem as me.
When using WiFi after around an hour or so (seems to vary) of not being used the WiFi seems to loose connection, but it still says its connected and the only way you can tell it really isn't working is by trying to use the net in some way.
I turned on the "best WiFi performance" option and that seemed to stop the connection loss but really eats up the battery. So that is not a full time option.
I wonder if i should be taking this phone back and exchanging it (once they leave customs)
I also have an issue where when I put the phone in the car dock (unfortunately not the nice one that connects with the back contacts like I thought I had ordered but one that uses USB) when I take it out my lock screen no longer shows the weather when you hit the power button, I have to go back into the personalize settings and change it to another lock screen and then change it back.
Some detail: when connection is lost the phone is sitting in the same spot which is only about 3 feet away from the router. My previous TC Aria running CM7 would also lose connection occasionally but it was no where near as often as this. I thought that maybe it was my router seeing that its an old Linksys WRT54G Ver2 but no other devices that use WiFi have this issue. I updated to the leaked 1.82?? version but I still have all the same problems.
Anyone else have this issue? Think I should exchange?
Hello firends,
I have used Nexus 5 for two years. I rooted my phone 6 months ago with pure nexus rom. The kernel is franco kernel. Also, I used vomer tweak.
Couple of weeks ago, I started wifi on phone, but it did not see any network. Firstly, I did not understand it is a issue because there might not be any network around my place. Then, I started to open wifi hotspot for my laptop. The wifi hotspot network was seen on my laptop, but it did not connect to it. I have searched it about this problem on internet. Most of people encounter stucking on turning on wifi. They solved it by solder wifi ic again with heat gun. There is no such problem on my phone. Wifi is opening then searching network. However, there is no network seen. Therefore, I skipped this solution.
There might be a hardware problem, so I opened the phone case and I disassembled the wifi antenna. I checked whether any open contact on this cable with multimeter. Again there is no problem. The antenna is solid.
This problem startted after I installed vomer tweak. I also tried delete vomer tweak. There is no difference. I might drop the phone sometime, but I do not remember.
Moreover, I tried wifi fixer app. Still, wifi is on, it does not see any network. That's all.
Any suggestion to solve this problem and how will I suppose to do for checking hardware and software to realize the problem on wifi?
Thanks in advance.
Meriç,
So this must be inherent with the phone. I can't be alone in this right? The Wi-Fi loses connection due to Bluetooth being on at the same time. At least I've never witnessed any issues with bt off, and I've had this phone now over a year. Maybe it's not so specific to this phone? Well I don't remember it ever happening like this with previous phones. works most of the time but not enough. I have some Wi-Fi reconnect widget I use but it's still annoying obviously. Anyone have a solution?

My G5 haven't had issues with WiFi and Bluetooth being on together. Try WiFi connection that is 5.0 GHz instead of 2.4GHz. Once I had tried 3 HTC 10 phones and when I was connecting to 2.4GHz network then the phone had issues with internet when Bluetooth was on. Once I did some troubleshooting, I was able to solve the issue by connecting to my other band which was 5.0 GHz and that one never gave me any issues.
Ah thanks. That's probably it. But I don't have a better modem to test with. Ill keep that in mind though if I decide to upgrade
If you're still watching this thread, and are still having problems, install the Wifi Analytics Tool and see which channel is the farthest from any other signals (neighbors), then connect to the router (or modem/router if that's what you have) and change the channel to that one. The stronger wifi signal may get through even with Bluetooth making noise.
Everything is smooth and perfect except Wifi.
I can found close wifi networks (Mobile hotspots created by other phones) but if I try to connect it just saves them, cannot connect to any wifi networks.
And the strength is too low. It is unable to find my room's wifi ...!!
So I am just totally unable to use wifi in my Pixel :/
Also I turn on Hotspot on my Pixel, it turns on but I cannot find it from other devices.
Also upgraded from 8.1.0 to 9.0 but still same issue.
Without Wifi its so miserable experience Any Solution?????
Yeah, same issue. It's a hardware thing. If you've dropped your phone either the cable came loose or the PCB board is off. I threw mine before (long story) but can't use wifi nor Bluetooth without being close to what I'm connected to.
I just don't feel like fixing it considering the pixel can break by repair. Plus, my 6p is my DD anyway
Dang, I gave my sister this phone and this problem just appeared. Time to look for a new phone for her.
Ok, being real for a second, this worked and I know it is a VERY BAD workaround but can help in a pinch.
I bought a refurb pixel on woot. Took a while to get it because it was sent to a friend's PO box and then brought to mexico, ergo no warranty.
Unboxed it and had this exact same issue; little to no signal on very few wifi hotspots and just "saving"
Seeing as this might be hardware related as @creep138 mentioned, I tried the following:
PRESS considerably hard on the point that the antenna connector should be.
After a couple of seconds of force and massaging, wifi came on and connected.
I KNOW this is a bad idea, I KNOW this might cause several issues on the long run, but if you have it sitting in a drawer doing nothing because of this issue, give it a try.
For reference this was done on a Verizon Black Pixel. The small one. and the point to apply pressure to is about half an inch below the camera and flash module.
Hope this helps

Status update:
After doing what I have already described, that helped to connect to the wifi at my workplace. Nonetheless I didn't have suck luck with my home wifi.
After reading here and there, some users reported the device connecting to 5Ghz wifi no problem. My work is indeed 5Ghz and my home is 2.4
After unpacking and installing a 5Ghz capable router, the pixel connected no problem to it (after applying the aforementioned pressure)
Hope this helps
Hi,
i own a Xtrons PX3 with Android 7.1.2.
A couple months ago i noticed connection failures on my wifi. Over the following weeks the problem got worse. Today the device is completly unable to even find access points. Bluetooth is working perfectly.
I tried the following steps:
- multiple switching off and on again of wife: "activating wifi" taked about a minute. No access points. Wifi disables itself and turns on without finding networks.
- activating the access point: no effect
- replaced the antenna: no effect
- reseted network settings:
The wifi worked for one time 3 minutes. I was able to connect to my mobile phones access point. But after about 3 minutes the same error again. No networks. No connection at all.
- upgraded the MCU from MTCD_GS_V2.56_3 to MTCD_GS_2.94: no effect
- installed Malaysk 5.0 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...nt/rom-malaysk-roms-mtcd-mtce-device-t3693509 without data wipe: no effect
- installed Malaysk 5.0 WITH complete data wipe:
Again the wifi worked one time for 3 minutes. But now no wifi whatsoever.
I dont think it is a hardware issue. Otherwise it shouldnt have worked for some minuted after the complete data wipe.
Please help me. The Head Unit is more or less worthless without an internet connection.
Kind Regards

Hi there. I can assure you that it’s a hardware issue. I had this before and I replaced the WiFi and Bluetooth board and all was good after that.
The symptoms are exactly the same. Works for a moment but not always and for a very short time. This can happen because the chip gets quite hot and the soldering or the chip itself gets damaged.
My advice is to get a compatible board from China, they are very cheap - 2-3$ and replace it. I’ve done this twice now and both Bluetooth and WiFi are working well. I know how it behaves before failing.

Well, thanks. I thought if Bluetooth is working then it should Not be a Hardware issue. Because both things are handeled by the same Module.
Do you have a link or something for me where I can buy such a replacement part? I tried Google and eBay. No success.
Thx.
Kind regards
Hagen
Try AliExpress. I don’t know what kind of chip you have now to be able to advise.
The Bluetooth and WiFi can be on the same chip but the connections are different pins.
It might be a good idea before ordering and waiting to try and repeat the soldering points to the board.
