Hi! I'm new at flashing Z3-D6603 (the last Sony Phone I had was a Xperia Play) and as I see, there are a lot of new things that you have to look before flashing the phone. I'll go directly to the point, In About Phone, I had the Customization Number 1288-9931_R6C, and I searched for that number in the XperiFirm program, but it doesn't make sense, it says that number is from T-Mobile Poland. I want to flash the Customized US (Because I think that one doesn't have any bloatware apps from operators or could cause problems with my SIM at my country) Is there any risks if I flash another customization number? All I want is get the last stock rom and without root

Hi,
I have rooted my samsung S6 set using pingpong root.
Im plagued with the battery drain issue, so i will like to revert back to stock to see if there is any OTA updates for my phone.
But to do that, i will need to unroot and then flash a stock firmware to get the ota working once again, right?
Now how do i go about choosing a firmware for my phone, seems like there are many options to be chosen from in sammy mobile webbsite.
Are there any difference between if i were to choose my country against another country version?
In what cases will i potentially brick my samsung s6?
If you flash a stock ROM with Odin, you won't need to worry about unrooting first, as flashing will do that for you. You may like to enter recovery and factory reset just to clear anything that may be left behind though.
And as for selecting which one to flash, it's generally best to go for your own country's one, as they are usually optimised for your local differences (like the radio, I believe). The main thing to look out for though, is to only flash a ROM for your actual device model. For example, if your model number is SM-G920F, only flash ones for that actual model.
If you go to the general section in the S6 forum, there is a thread with the main selection of carrier ROMs there. Check that out
Hello XDA, it's been a long time since my last time in these forums.
It's been like a couple of hours I got my new Z3 D6603 and I have to say, the pre-installed rom has confused the heck out of me, and here's why:
I live in Greece, and here, there are 2 options for buying a phone.
1) You get one that is meant to have unlocked, Greek firmware pre-installed (Tagged as GR)
2) You get one that is destined to Balkan countries. (Tagged as EU) These are from 50 to even $300 cheaper but they come with an opened box,
and sometimes their warranty is not recognized by the official greek customer support , which I don't trust at all.
I wanted to pay a few bucks more and get the GR one from a shop with very clean reputation and I found one.
While I was unboxing it, I found out that everything was in German. I said ok, maybe the official Sony representative is in Germany (spoiler alert, nope).
I booted up the phone, and I am welcomed by a T-Telekom (I guess it's the same as T-Mobile) splash logo. The device is full of T-Telekom bloatware too.
I called the customer service of the retailer and they said, in their shop GR means it supports Greek language (like I'm a retard and I don't know Android supports Greek),
and if I want to install the official Greek firmware I will need to go to the retailer's local service. I called the local service and they said they can't do it (LOL).
I have rooted and tweaked a few phones in the past and I know it is possible, though, so I tried to find Sony's official firmware files, and here's where I got confused.
After some confusing times I finally found a file named D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL.ftf and I can't find a Greek one.
(Current build number after a couple of updates is 23.4.A.1.264, didn't check what it was out of the box)
Here are my questions:
What happens if I manage to install that .ftf file?
- Will it *void* my warranty (provided that Greek support is crap)?
- Will it get rid of the T-Telekom splash and be clean?
- Is that file official or there are any 3rd-party tweaks included?
Thank you for your time. Any additional information would be good to have.
Flashing a ftf doesn't affect your warranty because you'll still have your TA parition.
Flashing the global ftf will remove the carrier crap but you'll still have other bloat.
If something goes wrong you can just plug it back into Sony PC companion and it can restore back to the most recent update available for your phone.
Update: Flashed what I downloaded. Got rid of the T-Mobile crap but I can't update the phone. Got stuck in android 4 while previously I could update to 5.1.
I also used the Xperia Companion software to restore it but it didn't restore to the german version...
I'm no stranger to custom recoveries or flashing custom roms, but man, I've been trying to get a handle on this thing.
I just bought a Huawei Mate 8 (The model number on the back is NXT-TL00). I'm guessing it's the Chinese version.
Can someone give me an idiots guide to see what firmware I'm on and flashing this thing with a custom rom? I keep seeing references to having "Firmware Bxx", and I'm not even sure how to check that.
This is a vanilla phone straight from eBay and the official build Number in the settings screen reads NXT-TL00C0B197. I'm assuming that means I'm on B197? Does that mean I need to update all the way up into the B3xx's to install the newest roms?
I feel like a complete idiot. I'm used to just unlocking a bootloader, installing a custom recovery, and flashing a rom. It seems like like this is going to be a little more difficult coming from something like a Samsung or LG. Just need some friendly advice. Thanks in advance XDA Folks.
Hello.
Im coming from LG , and yes , its a bit more difficult.
this phone have some variants on different country, but hardware is same , or nearly on all models
Im french and i bought one in china and receved a DL00.
I was able to transform it into an europeean version to get rid of chinese bloatware. my phone is L29C432 B320. C432 is the european rom model. B320 is version of the rom. I always stick to my model to avoid any problems
Yeah, you are on B197.
Its easy as ****. First of all check if you got single or double sim card phone (guess its dual-sim chinese phone )
then if u dont mind - unlock bootloader (check guide, its on the forum, easy access to find it )
then flash TWRP and root your phone (again, a guide + software from here ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-t3369797
then - install a software that you want to :
thanks to @jbmc83
AL10 = chinese version, unlocked
TL00, DL00, CL00 = chinese versions, locked to chinese carriers
L29 = international version, unlocked, dual sim
L09 = international version, unlocked, single sim, only available in 3/32 GB
now everything is clear. just ask , people are nice here and able to help you bro.
have a good time with your phone
ps. i dont like to flash custom roms so i recomend you to do it like this -> unlock -> flash TWRP -> flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65544452 from here -> Root -> delete unneccecary apps with root delete program and you are ready to rock like us
what's the result ?
Anyone tried to install a European Software on this Phone Model NXT-TL00 please ?
Thank you
Greetings, sharing here my particular problem from top to bottom just to take advice in general.
First of all, I live in Cuba, so my one and only network is Cubacel which runs GSM 900 mhz, so far so good with most phones.
I am between phones so I boorrowed this used J100h from a friend, which received it as a gift and has never been used. I performed a hard reset to wipe password, data, etc. Phone boots ok but no calls with cuban SIM.
The curious thing is that it does recognizes Cubacel network, it evens shows the changes on signal intensity. Bu when I try to manually add it, it finds and displays the network by its name, but reports an error when trying to register.
After 3 days of internet search I´ve narrowed to the following: I suspect the phone was unlocked or flashed previously, there is no network promo when turning on the phone but there is chinese rooting software installed and the cell is, or seems via root checker, rooted. Thought an extra /01 after the IMEI was a sign of corruption until I leraned about IMEI SV. Anyway, following this thought installed busybox and root explorer, checked efs folder, finding subfolders such as imei, factory app, etc, BUT NO .NV file. inside imei folder ther is a imeino1 file with the correct imei, but no .nv file outside. Is this fixable?? GSII repair doesnt work because seems theres is an error with the busy box install, what gives me doubts if the phone is really rooted, and if i need to be online to install busybox properly.
So, If I decide to try and flash stock rom and see if this fixes the problem here is my main doubt, which may seem obvious for some but i simply can figure out. Which stock rom version do I choose? the product code of the cell is ITV, and the bootloader also points to the italian version but the currently installed rom ends in AOG2, seemingly a greek version. I live in Cuba and everywhere I look people say that since the telephone is sim free you can install any rom, but the is no "any" or standard rom either in samsung firware o sammobile. Do I flash the same rom? do I flash the one matching the bootloader? Which stock rom version should I choose?
Very much appreciated if you have gone so far in this reading and have some piece of advice. Also excuse terrible English.
Hi !
I see plenty of firmwares on samsung website so pick one and see how it works , it doesn`t matter the region , you won`t damage anything , maybe the modifications that has been made on the device borked the network , clean stock firmware flash may resurrect it and try the one which matches the bootloader
You may have a look here as well https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-gennxt-prerooted-stock-t3126368
Good luck !
I reently became a happy owner of black XZP and i love it but there is one thing that irritates me, it came with Orange branded software. My question is, can i flash original unbranded software (when flashtool will provide this option) without loosing IMEI,DRM keys, bravia engine and such ? And where can i find this kind of software ?
Also i heard from SONY centre Poland, that even if i do this myself somehow, it will return to the branded software with next software update as the software is tied to phones IMEI...
Would be gratefull for some extended explanation on this. Thanks.
Probably not since it probably locked to the Orange. You will need to get the network unlock code first before flashing a generic firmware.
Well I know that the XZ Premiums in Australia aren't locked, my friend got one from Telstra and then uses an Optus SIM in it.
Flashing generic FW won't cause you to lose DRM keys, etc, since only unlocking the bootloader will cause that stuff to be affected.
Also, even if the phone is network locked, I don't see why generic FW would affect that - That should only impact what carrier SIM you can use on the phone.
I used newflasher to flash customized UK version on my Vodafone branded version a couple of days ago, and received update for customized UK version this morning, updated ok, no probs.

I flashed mine two days ago on Windows 10 v1607.
I used the "old" version linked in the other thread. It is right that virus total show that there is some malware but only 2 of 64 AV product say that, I think that is a false positive.
First download your firmware with XperiFirm, pay attention on device version (single or dual sim)
Download Sony companion app and try to make a software repair (until it ask you to shutdown the phone and connect it with volume down button pressed), it will download and install Sony official flash driver (needed for flash the firmware with newflasher).
After that abort Sony software repair and download newflasher.
Go to the firmware folder extract partition.zip (this will allow new flasher to flash partition layout)
Also move away from the folder sim-lock.ta for security purpose (new flasher should have a check but bug can exist)
Copy newflasher.exe to the firmware folder
Shutdown the phone, press volume down button and plug-in the usb cable (Same instruction of Sony companion app), you should see windows driver configuration.
Wait driver configuration to finish and then run newflasher.exe as administrator
Wait until it finish (some system files flash can take minutes to flash don't worry) and check if there are errors in log.
Had problems with yellow triangle in driver but after using companion software per your instruction drivers got installed and everything went ok, flashed central eu version 1 and I'm happy now Many thanks!
