[Review] [Giveaway] Diztronic TPU

I just wanted to give a huge thanks to Android Fan Network (Nick) for sending me this case! :highfive: Thanks guys!
okay, so this is the first time I've ever seen a diztronic case.
i wasn't sure what to expect, honestly, i first heard about them a week ago when i saw AFN's review they posted on facebook. Well, I wanted to get my hands on a case ever since I saw that review. So, naturally I was really excited to get home from work tonight at 8pm to find this sitting in my mailbox! Even though the unit I received was pink I still wanted it on my phone, for a few minutes at least! Well, I just want to say that Diztronic really used high quality TPU when they designed this case. It really has a premium feel that a lot of TPU cases lack.
PRO's:
-fitment, honestly it is exactly like it should be. No excess space and nothing is cramped. (the IR blaster is slightly off center, but it still works perfectly)
-button covers. Yes, this is actually a PRO on this case. It is flimsy enough to allow for a tactile feedback of the button! It actually clicks. I don't know why all companies don't make this a priority.
-Lip, it has just the right amount of lip around the top edge to protect your device without going insaine
CON's: These are so minimal, I almost didn't even list them
-No grip on the sides
-camera cutout is not 'perfect' it is slightly raised and causes the phone to rock back and forth when placed on the back, it is also a large square instead of being cut the fit. (not a big deal just something to note)
-My review unit is pink and I cannot be seen with it on my phone in public.
Overall, I would give this TPU case a 5*/5* It is exactly what I look for in a case, and if it were not pink, I would keep it myself! So, if anyone would like a sparkly pink TPU case from Diztronic, I would like to offer the chance to win it, free shipping and all.

I know, I personally love the phone and want to help build a better community here. I got this case for free and really only wanted to review it. I know I love getting something I want for free, especially something that is, in my opinion, good. I'm going to give away two other cases soon, so be on the lookout for those!
I agree though, there is a lot of negative threads here, we need more positive ones for such a great phone.

Pass it on like OP said, can't be seen in public with a pink s4 now, if my girlfriend had an s4 I'd gladly take it but she has a lame 4s

Nexus 6P cases and covers list

Going to have my N6P shortly and plans to have a nice case to have it get protected,however,most are now focusing on iPhone and Galaxy Mobile covers and get few choice from SGP and Amazon, so here please share your case founding and have fun.

Ultra Protective Case
I'll be waiting for the second batch of the device, because I want to see reviews, and to avoid any possible quality control issues that might initially exist. With this in mind, I obviously want to protect my investment, what with being a student on a budget. As such, I want to really protect my screen. In fact, just last week I shelled out an unplanned $120 to replace the screen on my S3 i9300, which fell face down in its ZeroLemon battery case. The screen wasn't cracked, but it was damaged in terms of the pixels. It started out with a purple spot, and got progressively worse overnight, to where it was totally black, and unusable. Does anyone know if a Ballistic, Trident, or UAG case will be made available for the 6P? Are there any other ideas as to the type of case I'm looking for, besides those I mentioned?

A good case and a tempered glass screen protector should help a lot. That's what I usually use for my phones

I sent an email to the manufacture today, I didn't yet get a response. One other buyer on Amazon (via a review) reported he got contacted back by the manufacture, and he pasted an email from them stating the photo is only a prototype. It makes sense as the case won't mail out for a full month. The month delay is OK with me because my phone won't be here before then.

The post shows a reply from the company saying those were pre release mock up images... They should update the images but as long as they don't really cover the LAF no biggie. Especially considering I got to order the case for $2!

I ended up getting this case, there has been confirmation that the LAF will not be blocked on the final version (source the manufacturer)

In the image attached to this post is the email I received back from the manufacture. As others have already posted their responses they got back also. Happy to know this case will work fully with the 6p and its laser focus.

I ordered a clear one that needs the opening trimmed (or sent back). I kind of like this one with red accents, looks like the opening is wide enough.

Looks easy to make a template to cut an opening wide enough. It's crystal clear, may not effect IR anyway.
Edit: Manufactures just sent email. Said to toss what they shipped and will send replacement that doesn't block the laser focus in 2 weeks (before the 6P arrives).

Anybody find any photos of the Nexus 6p wearing the official cases yet?
I ordered the carbon, would be nice to see how it looks on the device.

My clear case from Amazon. Should be a simple exacto fix once I know how wide to cut. I'm going to love the 6P, only slightly wider than my N5, and who cares how long it is (especially with superior speakers on front!).

I just contacted them and they said that they thought maybe the Dilex would be the first case BUT that decision has not yet been made. The employee further explained that the product team was still evaluating their options to decide what products would best make sense.
So it sounds to me that we're at least some weeks away before we can pre-order any Seidio cases.

I saw something on their twitter stream say they weren't going to make OBEX cases for either Nexus, but if they have improved their holster durability and the rubber holding onto the phones isn't so soft anymore I'd be happy to get one again. Great looking cases.

They use a TPU now instead of a silicon so its much better in my opinion.

Oh really??? Hmmm, if they've fixed the kickstand thing (always being off centered so your phone flips to landscape when laying flat) I will definitely look at them.

noooo! surface all the way. my only real concern is how they'll shape the cutout for the fingerprint sensor. hopefully its a bit more ergonomic than what ive seen so far

I asked Seidio on 10/3 if they would be making a Surface case for the 6P, as that is by far the best case I've ever had. Hopefully a case of a clueless customer service rep, but here is their reply from an e-mail on 10/5:

Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for a Nexus 6P.
This doesn't mean that we will not eventually release it for this phone we just haven't got plans to at this time.

I love the Otterbox Commuter line of cases. The Galaxy Nexus ruined it with Otterbox. The size differences between the GSM and CDMA versions caused huge headaches with customers who dont know and dont care about the difference. Many sales, too many returns and exchanges, and now Otterbox says "f you, Google". Well I say "f you Verizon" for constantly dictating how phones should be.

Yes, but Nexus phones sell well enough to consider. They might not sell as well as a S6 but certainly they sell better than the M9 did

I had to clean up my floor after mentioning it. It looks like a dorm room hallway on a Saturday morning with all of the vomit. The M9 still has more case variety than we will see with this phone which is the sad part.

i love seidio products, but man i hate this company. iphone cases are out a month before the phones hit the shelves. flagship nexus devices? well what you need to do is continually email us, fill out a stupid request form as many times as you can, sit and wait for 2 months and THEN we'll release it for you. bull****

I have the naked version on the holster on my N6. I never use a case I am hoping they make the naked holster only.

Exactly what I'm hoping for too. It looks like they don't make all the holsters for a lot of android devices. I hope the 6P is the exception.

Case with a kick stand?

After using a case mate naked tough case on my nexus 6 I was looking at getting a case with a kick stand for media consumption and so far not seen any for the 6p. If anyone has seen one can you let me know. Iv ordered a cheap one for the time being to offer some protection but it is only meant as a temporary until I can find one I actually want and fits the bill for my needs

Do a deeper search than I did and I bet you'll find more. Most of these seem to be the extremely bulky case types, which don't interest me personally. One case I had for the Nexus 6 which had a kickstand but was also slim was the Seidio Surface case. http://www.seidioonline.com/motorola-nexus-6-surface-kickstand-case-garnet-red-p/csr3mtn6k-gr.htm You might want to contact them and see if they plan on making a N6P case. I'll vouch for Seidio - they make pretty good products. I've even deployed them with iPhones at work.

I saw something recently about how a lot of the early cases are blocking important parts of the sensor/antenna bar (the black bar on the back of the phone). Does anyone know how much of the bar needs to be exposed to not impede functionality?
And to the OP, I've had a kickstand case with my last two phones, and last two tablets, and I just can't go back to a device without it now. So thanks for starting this thread.

I have found that many of these are preproduction images, so I wouldn't rely on the current pictures to show me anything more than a rough idea of what the final product will generally look like. Several product images have already changed on Amazon's site.
Wait until the middle / end of October for all the companies to get the products finalized. This forum already has several threads with replies from manufacturers saying designs aren't final. They are just trying to ensure they get their piece of the pie on early and preorder case dollars when they list products this early on Amazon.

Gotcha, thanks for the info.

Real interested in the i-Blason case since I'm looking for a hybrid case with a kickstand that gives me peace of mind without Nexus protect.
However I emailed them aobut the laser AF problem and got this:

Once Seidio releases their cases the Surface should have a kickstand. Using that case now on my S4 and love it.

Was thinking of it but looks very cheap
Plastic stand and i hate the silicon wrapped in Plastic.
I've seen nicer ones that are more costly by reputable companies but none for 6p
Bought a tpu for now from tudia.... Nice and slim but would like to have a spare with kickstand so I'll wait a bit more to see if anything comes up

A case with a stand will be ultimately what I get.
As I am getting a silver phone rather than a black one, I would really love a crystal clear case with stand! Although I'm sure this will never happen.

Spigen has a ring that attaches to any case (flat surface) that works as a kickstand and a grip helper for the phone. They also include a car mount with it. Here's the link

Doesn't it make it wobble when flat? Looked cool initially but I think it's a bit weird to carry 24/7 on such a nice phone. And I doubt it last forever if constantly removing it.

I haven't received it yet, but I know that I will be using it as a kickstand, so what's the relevance of "lying flat"? It looks like if you stick it above center, but still out of the way of the Imprint sensor, it should sit on a table/desk at a very convenient angle in either orientation...

I just sometimes lay it flat and don't always use a kickstand. I enjoy it when I need it but not all the time.
I'd prefer a thin case that has a kickstand if and when needed.... But each use phone differently

CruzerLite Bugdroid case

I ordered the official case from google for 34.99. As reviews came out i honestly didn't like it. I opened up the cruzerlite site and there selling the nexus 6p cases for 9.90, but not an amazon. My personal opinion I've had these cases for every phone that I have owned and have never let me down

I've always wanted one, I'm planning on getting a clear one

I have really liked and used Cruzerlite in the past, but recently, I find myself really liking cases that have something covering the buttons.

Yep. I got a couple bugdroid Cruzerlite cases for my nexus 6 and never actually used them because the button cutouts were annoying to me. I actually prefer the buttons to be covered too.

I was really waiting for Diztronic to release a case, don't recall them going this late for a case release. Might just get the Cruzerlite clear, assuming they do shipments of those soon. I really don't want to get my phone and have to wait a week for either of those to come. I'm also not really sure I like the Verus case I got for $2, might just use that for more heavy duty situations. God damn I'm so picky.

I bought a clear one a few days ago for my 6p. If anything like my N5's it has cutouts for the buttons but the buttons stay retracted inside the hole.
That's great for putting on the car-mount as it won't press the buttons!
Still no shipping date, though

What color should I get for the graphite? I feel like the clear would look weird so maybe I'll get the smoke. Anyone get theirs yet?

Never buying one again. I've gotten one of these for every phone of mine since before my Galaxy Nexus. Seems trivial but after the G3 they started putting their logo in the center of the bug droid and I immediately hated it. My opinion but I liked the logo outside the droid.

So I ordered this without realizing they weren't yet ready to go. . Crap!!!! now I've got my 6p and it's all naked. That makes me nervous and the metal frame makes it difficult to hold. I'm concerned about it getting scratched up no mater how I set it down.
Anyone get word of when this will ship?

I've rocked cruzerlite cases for a while. They have been my to to case. But customer support sucks. Unless I missed it no where on the site says they aren't ready to go. No one answers the phone, email wasn't returned, twitter support is nonexistent

Never in my life have I experienced a company where there was LITERALLY no way to contact them for customer support. They ignore everything. Support.cruzerlite.com doesn't load, form emails through their site go unanswered. The phone number just points you to the support site that doesn't load. Finally, twitter and facebook are also ignored. WTF!?!?! This is messed up!!!!
I think I might try calling today and pressing 0 or mashing buttons.

I'm in the same boat. I tried contacting them for weeks now. Yet no reply. In there description it says date to be announced, but doesn't justify why there customer support is atrocious.

i bought a case from them back on GNex days.... fit great, felt great... but it was a white TPU... it faded and looked dirty after months...
so , get one but just not white...
