Hi everyone,
I've got a BIG problem
I have a Galaxy Ace. A friend of mine played with it and Since then the phone is kinda dead
When I press the On/Off button, a series of vertical color bars appear on the screen (filling 2/3 of screen) [See attached]
Screen reduces the brightness in 5 secs
Then nothing happens and phone does not respond to any key combination
When I combine volume down with power buttons, the same thing happens although this time the phone camera flashes once!
Using the Volume up button gives me two flashes!
By the way, Odin recognize the phone on a COM port, but I don't know what I can do with that?
I also tried ADB REBOOT RECOVERY command in Android SDK as recommended by someone in here. It says DEVICE NOT FOUND
Does anyone have any idea how can I restore the phone to a normal state?
Appreciate your help

any Ideas? I'm very worried about the phone
Try holding homescreenbutton and on key. Recovery menu should turn up. Then perform a hard reset
I just bricked my ace today and there was no way I was able to fix it, the closest I got was getting the device into a 'connecting' state in the samsung kies software but didn't got any further, no screen no nothing..
Eventually I went back to the store and they replaced it without asking too many questions, I told them it died while doing a factory reset.

Yes looks like the ACE still got problems, my friend's ACE also hangs alot.
My problem is that I can't see anything on the scree (see pic above) I dpn't know what state the handset is in!!!
Any one has a link to a recent firmware for ACE that works?
Weird, don't know if the resistor trick that works on the Galaxy S could also apply on this model ?

Rom manager? If so your phone is dead. Do you honestly think selecting software meant for another device will work? Rom manager does not support the galaxy ace, yet. You've now ruined the partitions and so far noone has managed to get a successful unbrick. Make up a bull**** story and hope you get the phone fixed in warranty. Tata.

Hi guys,
I've got a replica of a Galaxy Note 2 5 months ago. It worked alright till today, when I turned it off to replace the battery and it never loaded back.
It's rooted. When I try to enter recovery mode, only the dead droid with the red triangle appears.
I've changed the battery again. Waited for a long time, but it never passes the samsung logo.
Can someone help me with it?

So the problem is caused by the battery change? It never happened before. Anyway, thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately, when i'm on that screen with the red triangle, nothing happens. I've tried lots of combinations of the hard buttons, but no menu appears. Is there an specific order of pressing, or time? Can you give me detailed information on the process?

Well, no success. I turn on the phone holding v up + power. It starts with a "recovery msg" below. Then it enters the screen with the red triangle. On that screen, nothing happens. I did as you told, and tried the following combinations: v up + power, v down + power, v up + home + power, and v down + home + power, for 20 seconds each try, and still, the same screen, no menu, no msg.
I have to mention again that it's a fake galaxy note 2, not a real samsung one.
Any other directions?

HY,the recovery that you went in was the stock, you said that you are rooted, and i assume you also have a custom recovery, where you flash roms, kernells, etc.I suggest that you should press v up +power+home, and release all 3 when the device model appears(galaxy note 2),if you can reach that make a backup of the device, and after you did it delete cache, dalvik from recovery and restore he backup.

Well, I remember using only a windows software to root. "Super One Click" if I'm not mistaken. The process was really simple, and i didn't do anything other then some clicks to root. No rom, kernell, backup or other stuff. It was simple, so that's why I did it.
About the phone, releasing the buttons still takes me to the red triangle screen. Using the v down instead of v up takes me to factory menu. The volume buttons only navigate through the options, but nothing selects them.

Well, as I told the post before, nothing selects any of the options on factory mode. Volume just navigates, and that's it. Power or home don't do a thing. I don't have a "fastboot" option on the menu either. I'm starting to give up. Any more ideas?
Just one advice, dont buy fake phone

Thats gr8. If download mode works then u don't need to worry at all. Flash stock firmware via Odin & everything will b alright then.
Btw download mode is accessed by pressing & holding Volume down & Home & Power buttons together. You'll see "downloading" written under a yellow triangle:sly:.
Note: First ensure that u know what u r doing, then implement those steps. Using Odin unknowingly may produce some undesirable issues
hey stop, before doing anything check this link maybe you won't need to format your fit

I don't know that but I can tell you that I used that thing and it worked for me although after a reboot my phone was in the same condition but it was good for me since, I was able to take backup of my data.
Bought it used. SM-G920F Yately.GU46.6GG.UK (im in the US)
It acted funny when i first got it, like the PO tried to reset it in some weird way.
Then i noticed my storage Avaialable and storage used did NOT add up to the claimed 32 (more than the system files and etc-wasn't even close!)
So i figured i would reset it, but a factory reset from within settings didn't work.
When i turn it on holding Volume DOWN and power it boots to a foriegn language.... When i boot using volume UP and power it goes to the dead android and claims "no command". It's like however the PO reset it (probably used some ghetto app) messed up the firmware or image or something? I'm so confused...
I'm VERY new to Android, am an old apple expatriate. I want to flash it to the correct firmware and stuff's i figure that should delete ALL old files if maybe theres parttions not showing up that contain the old users data or somthing?
Now i could clean it probably with the command prompt, but that would erase eerything and i wouldn't now how to make it useable again.
So, how do i flash it .... so that i can flash it -_- I only know of the way through the recovery mode (or whatever mode if i am miss using that term)
Again... very new... know OF odin, but not how to use it.... idk.
Help a new android disciple!
Want my new s6 to perform like one and have the storage it should!
BTW
No it i NOT a fake... promise.

Turn off your phone, and then turn it on pressing and holding Volume Up, Home, and Power button at the same time until you see a warning. Then press Volume Up to continue, and navigate using volume keys and select wipe cache/factory reset with the Home button, then reboot.
