Please expain me the diiference between these reboot in details
When you choose "reboot" it asks you if you want to reboot into safe mode or the second screenshot refers to another option?
Hi,
Differences explained:
Reboot: Normal reboot.
Soft reboot: Only the whole-software is restarted.
Recovery: Automatically enters Recovery mode upon reboot.
Bootloader: Automatically enters Bootloader upon reboot. Samsung devices will do nothing (just like normal reboot).
Restart SystemUI: Only restarts SystemUI to see changes to the UI. You'll be prompted to re-unlock your device after SystemUI is restarted.
Reboot to safe mode: Normal reboot and disables all 3rd party apps until next boot. Perfect on troubleshooting of problems caused by user apps.
By general you can reboot into safe mode by doing:
1. Tap and hold power button, and tap and hold Power off. Confirm it by pressing OK.
2. During boot, tap on any HW keys (after passing splashscreen) until your device vibrates.

Dear all,
[Update 1/1/2013]
- I've just found that my tab cannot boot after restart to download mode, recovery mode. Everywhen I try to do that, it will do nothing (display nothing, cannot charge, cannot hard shutdown....). Even I try to boot download mode by adb or Power + vol down, the result is nothing. However, when I shutdown and then press and hold Power button 3 section, it will boot to android normally.
My P6800 have problem I haven't met before:
IT CAN:
- run normally. But, when turn on device, I have to try press the power button sometime and wait about 2 to 3 mins (normally, it has to on right after press power)
- In off state, it could be charge normally when I plugin the cable (I see the battery progress bar)
IT CANNOT:
- Factory reset, update firmware: when I try to factory reset or update firmware (by OTA),after It turn off, it never turn on (don't display anything). Until I try to hard turn off (hold power). Then, no thing change.
- Enter download mode: Turn off device, and try to hold "Power+volume up" or "Power+volume down". But screen still dark.
I think there is some problem with the download or recovery mode. But I dont know to fix it.

Recovery is an independent, lightweight runtime environment that’s included on a separate partition from the main Android OS on all Android devices. You can boot directly into recovery mode and use it to factory reset the device, delete the cache partition, or apply software updates.*Use Recovery mode*to factory reset the device, delete the cache partition, or apply software updates.
You can enter Recovery mode by using the hardware keys, so it’s often a last resort for people troubleshooting a device. The various methods for entering into the recovery mode are:
For Nexus Phones
This process applied for the Nexus Series Of phone. It is the generic way of entering into the recovery mode. To do this you have to switch off the phone and press the Power and Volume Up key simultaneously and then selecting the required recovery mode. [NOTE] In the Advanced Boot Option Volume Up is used to move up, Volume Down to move down and Power Button or Selection.
For Samsung Phones
For entering into the recovery mode in Samsung Phones press the Volume Up, Power Button and Home Button simultaneously to enter into the recovery mode. [NOTE] In the Advanced Boot Option Volume Up is used to move up, Volume Down to move down and Power Button or Selection
For LG Phones
Press and hold the*Power*key, and turn the Phone off.Press and hold the*Power*key, and the*Volume down*key together .When you see the LG logo let go of the*Power*key and then press it again (you should keep pressing the*Volume down*key throughout). The menu will appear and you can use the*Volume*keys to highlight an option and the*Power key to select it.
The Alternate Way
Practically, this is the best way to enter in the recovery mode of Android Phone. It works on every phone so you don't have to remember every steps of going into the recovery mode of each phone. To do this install adb on your PC and the drivers for your phone. In the adb shell type the following
Adb reboot recovery
Your device will boot into the recovery mode.

My First Post Thread On This Sub-Forum. So Please be Lenient.
A Couple of weeks ago I switched my primary device from Asus Zenfone 2 to Oneplus One 64gb.
A while before that... One of my friends who also owned a One got stuck on the boot logo after flashing an incompatible kernel. As the phone did not have a removable battery.. He had no idea how to go back into TWRP.
I figured that A few (maybe more) of the users would have the same kind of doubts for this device. And hence for them... I've made this simple guide.
SCENARIO 1:
•Phone Freezes,
•goes into SoD (Sleep of Death) ,or
• (practically anything that happens when booted into android but rendering most controls useless),or
• Phone Accidentally booted into fastboot mode without a PC nearby.
Fix it:
These can be easily fixed by forcing a REBOOT on the device.
How:
Press and hold the POWER BUTTON only for about 8-10s.
This will cause a reboot.
This method will work anywhere and everywhere on a one. This can be used to force a reboot in any situation.
SCENARIO 2:
•Phone stuck on boot logo /boot animation after incompatible ROM/Kernel/mod etc flash.
•When causing a Simple reboot won't help. And we need to boot into recovery or fastboot mode.
For this we need to first force a shutdown and then a normal reboot to either recovery or fastboot.
How:
Press and hold down the POWER + VOLUME DOWN Buttons for about 8-10s. The phone will power off.
Then
•For recovery press and hold POWER + VOLUME DOWN for 2-3s
•For fastboot press and hold POWER + VOLUME UP for 2-3s.
And That's it. We've successfully learned how to simulate a battery pull on the One.
NOTE: Please remember that these button combinations are universal. This means they can be used with any ROM or any kernel or even No ROM or no kernel.....lol.
Thanks.

Folks,
How can I reboot and encrypted phone (using a pattern, not a PIN or a password) in safe mode?
I turn it on and it asks for my pattern; Instead of entering the pattern (which would make the phone try to boot in normal mode), I press the power button and click-and-hold the "Turn device off" until it becomes "Reboot in safe mode". I confirm and the phone reboots, but it goes to normal mode, not safe mode.
Any idea?
Edit: The phone is running the stock Android 7.0 ROM
