Thank you. It did work great. Im just kinda messing with it. I know i cant flash custom roms with kingroot. I attempted to switch kingroot with supersu and that didnt pan out lol. Still researching and trying different things. Im very new to this and kinda just using my tab 4 as practice. I apparently didnt trip knox either but wanna get more comfortable before i root my S6.

Yeah, all i did was google apk kingroot.
Make sure you have usb debugging enabled and download from unknown sources enabled
Once you have apk kingroot download found click download for android (or whatever your appropriate decive is) and download the file. Once dow loaded, run it and just follow the in-app instructions. . Thats how i got mine to work.

I have been trying to do so, but I can't get to any ones I know with a pc. I wish mine still worked. I was just reading about mobile odin but its k7nda confused my it said to use device must have root access. I thought it was an apk to root my device.
rooted now but issue not resolved. ..
Well I was finally able to barrow a laptop, so im rooted now.
But the issue of a rooting apk is not resolved. There really needs to be a rooting apk. Aren't tabs ment to be a computer replacement. Well eventually. ?.. So I thats why issue of a rooting apk is not resolved.
What could be done to request an apk be made or better yet were can I find tutorials to give it ago?

Go to device info in settings and look at the Kernel version. What date is listed?
**EDIT...NM, I see the kernel date listed in dallas532's sig as July 11. Towelroot will not work with Kernel dated after June 3rd.
You can put in a request to CF here to create a working CF Auto Root for your device. Just be sure to post the recovery.img file as listed in the OP if/when the source code is available.

I returned mine on launch day for a regular gold s5 because of the software differences. I tried all different ways I could think of to root and couldn't get a recovery to stick without soft bricking the phone.

Good to see ya interested in this phone too, UPdownLoAD! I hope all went well with the Torque dev when I had to pop off of the grid right after rooting that (this one is A LOT easier...trust me).
I just bought this phone earlier this week and hadn't looked into its rootability. I figured that, since it is a Samsung phone on Sprint, it would have an unlocked bootloader (and it does). There are, however, zero support tools for these. This is not TowelRoot eligible due to the newer patched kernel and is not on the CF-Auto-Root list yet.
I took a little time during the LLWS today to get this thing rooted and confirmed before I go out of town on business for a week and it turned out just fine.
Solution: Simply employing the use of a custom recovery and using the "fix su binaries" and "prevent stock recovery flashing" options upon exiting after entering the recovery.
Ok, yes, there is no official release of CWM, TWRP or Philz for this device yet. I have a custom recovery that is in Chinese that I, personally, know how to decipher, but would not release it here*. Hopefully, there is an official recovery on the way or someone properly builds one in English. CWM used to have an automated recovery builder tool server-side, but I think it has been offline since March of this year. Again, I am about to head out on business soon and don't have a lot of time until on my flights to dig more into this, but wanted to give the certain thumbs up to anyone considering this phone but didn't know if it would have root.:good::good::good:
In summary: YES, the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport (SM-G860P) on the latest OTA build (NG3) is rootable just fine.
*Please do not ask me for the recovery that I have...Google is your friend (it's only in a single public location as of right now), but I did not want to be responsible for someone grabbing it and guessing what characters mean and borking their phone.
I need help.

Most likely you'd need the Stock The file to Odin back to stock. But I'm not even sure those are available. Least I haven't seen anything mentioned about em.
Not sure what root method you tried, but there's been alot of talk going around for a week or so, that neither cf root, or towelroot methods don't work.
Next time (to be totally safe) it may be best to wait for a stock tar file to be available, before Taking a chance like this. Just a thought. Head to the SamMobile website and look up your devise to see if they got the Stock tar up. Still a pretty new device, so not sure if they'll be around yet. That sux tho.
Good luck!

The NG2 and NG3 tars are out. Get NG3 and prepare to wipe the entire device if you Odin the whole tar. It would be more helpful to know what you actually did (the method) versus saying "I tried to root". Since there is no automated root specific to this device yet and TowelRoot would not cause a bootloop, you likely ran something you certainly should not have (if it wasn't made for this phone model, why would you do that?) You've likely hosed up the phone/system to the point where you have to run the full tar (versus just the boot/kernel or the modem to "fix" with your user & system data in tact).
Grab the NG3 tar from sammobile or samsung-firmwares and Odin back to stock.
FYI TO ALL: everything is running smoothly after running my Titanium Backup restore from my old GS5 and pushing in Xposed modules. Also have successfully applied the hotspot tweak to my telephony.db and SD card write access. Hopefully I get some time during flights with Wi-Fi to pump out a recovery worth wide-releasing sometime this week if no one else chimes in.

I await patiently for some one to root and a custom recovery. I actually like this phone and prefer it over the regular but awesome GS5. I just wish for more support. I have rooted and customized every android phone I have gotten within a day of purchase, so it became habit and ritual. Now I sit here waiting patiently.

Indeed. Here is a link to the CF-Auto-Root download:

Just download, extract and flash the Tar with Odin using the PDA option. Let the device reboot into the temporary recovery and self-root.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 SMT530NU... which Twrp device name?

Okay was able to successfully root my Samsung Galaxy SMT530NU, I have TWRP downloaded but how do you find the correct device name for this device so I do not install the wrong file and brick my device?
I have the 10.1" SMT530NU and rooted with Towelroot.
Hopefully TWRP will work for recovery, but before I move further I wanted to turn to the forum for support. Thanks much!

As far as I know TAB 4 still don't have TWRP support , I'm also waitin for my T331
Is there any custom recovery available for this Tab? It seems support for the tablets are slow so far, maybe because it is new? Not even sure how long it has been out for.
I am learning Java coding now and intend to start contributing to the community at some point.
I'm glad I was able to get it rooted at least.
It's been out since early may, just not enough interest.
SM-T530NU Tab 4 10.1 Wifi model
I dont understand why there wouldnt be interest for these android tablets. They are some of the most powerful on the market. Honestly they should be hot **** right now. I think basically they are not in the right hands because they are still fairly new and expensive. With a proper recovery and some nice roms and overclock support it would be super beast. I just got my tab 4 10.1 model: SM-T530NU last night. Traded a laptop and my HP Touchpad 10 inch tablet for it. I got it rooted with towelroot no problem. Also went through and got rid of knox and samsung apps i didnt want. Im currently on 4.4.2 and saw there was an update but i'm going to wait on that. How would one go about building a proper TWRP and build at least a cyanogenmod rom for it? I have one and am willing to test or whatever to get something going. I would need someone with knowhow to teach me
Don't take the ota update it kills Towelroot.

I read somewhere that you can reroot if you replace the original boot.img i want to say it was. then you could root with towelroot, and then copy the new boot.img back on and root will stay. worth a try if you updated and still want root. you flash the file with odin. I could upload the boot.img from mine if we have the same one
Also, what version are you running now after updating? Is there a way to get this update to take a look at it? The SM-T530NU source from samsung is kitkat, not sure when it was uploaded, and im guessing it's the 4.4.2 i have now.
It appears the Source code from samsung is 4.4.1 which should be plenty to get a recovery working? How do we get more attention and someone with more knowhow to take a look at this? If we had a working recovery id at least try to port cyanogenmod to our device. i would test a real devs recovery but not trying myself with that

I can confirm that root still works fine on the latest September update for the SM-T530NU. i did everything with odin. first i grabbed the stock april update odin flashable file along with the september update. i installed the new update and root was killed. i flashed the april update boot.img over the new update boot.img with odin. i reran towelroot and it rooted. i then flashed the boot.img back from the september update and all was good. newest update from samsung with working root. took me all of 10 minutes to do. holler if you need a hand

930A ATT S7 Snapdragon Xposed framework

Hey guys, so I just found out about this site and am a super noob but managed to Root my ATT S7 last night. I have been trying to install the Xposed framework but it looks like I cant get a custom recovery program onto my S7. Does anyone know how to get TWRP or CWM or any custom recovery onto the 930A? Or for that matter, Xposed install without a custom recovery?

Sure, I'll start from the beginning in case any other new people are wondering.
Basically, back up your files and restore your phone to factory so the root goes smoother.
Then proceed to this thread for the root. Oh yeah, install adb if you don't have it. They dont mention it and assume you know what it is, which noobs like me don't.
After a clean root, install Flashfire (you may need to disable samsung updates and reset the phones clock back to 2012 or something if Flashfire doesn't want to start). I used 0.31, maybe the newest will work? Easy to find in google.
On page 8 of the Root thread, there is a dropbox link to the Xposed apk and zip (Here). Move them to your phone and install the apk, then use Flashfire to boot the zip.
I think that's pretty much it, Xposed should be running after the Flashfire reboot (which can take a long time as it will Optimize apps).
psouza4 has an awesome thread on what to do after Root and Xposed to make the phone run smoother.
If you do something wrong and absolutely can't fix it, see here for re-flashing back to stock.
Hope this helps someone, took me about 2 days to search all of this out. The AT&T S7 is such a pain in the ass with it's locked bootloader, but this place is > AT&T!

Flash the Xposed uninstaller from recovery or factory reset, or flash a stock ROM over the top

I'm on a galaxy s7 snapdragon (ATT) and I use flash fire to flash the uninstaller. Which uninstaller should I use? The default one, one for samsung devices, or one for galaxy s7

The one for the version of Xposed you flashed I would think, I haven't flashed it on my S7, best to ask in the Xposed main thread

[ROOT + TWRP 3.1-0] Vodafone Smart Ultra 7

UPDATED THREAD
Hey, guys. So here it is:
ROOT + TWRP
Smart Ultra 7 ONLY !
NEW TWRP VERSION: 3.1-0
_____________________________________________________
HOW TO ROOT ? :
This nethod will break OTA, so for update you must use SUGAR.
1) Download TWRP and SPFT from my PAGE and place it on desktop.
2) Download these files and put them on your SD CARD: SuperSU_1 and SuperSU_2
3) Turn off your phone and run SP FLASH TOOL.
3) When the SP FLASH TOOL starts, select MT6755 scatter file and MTK_AllinOne_DA.bin file (they are in SPFT folder)
4) Select ONLY recovery and load the TWRP_3.X.X file. (X.X means a version of TWRP)
5) Press download.
6) Connect your powered off phone to PC via USB cable.
7) After flashing the TWRP, hold VOLUME UP + POWER to boot into TWRP.
8) In TWRP press "INSTALL" and flash the boot patch - SUPERSU_1 and then flash root - SUPERSU_2.
9) Reboot and enjoy.
KingRoot Fidelity
Is it safe to root with KingRoot? Have been trying to figure out the best way root this phone for two weeks now, and trying to avoid KingRoot all this time.
Can you replace the KingRoot Binaries and Root Management Tools with the SuperSU ones?
Will Xposed Framework work on this phone? Really want AdAway, Greenify and Xposed Tweaks on the Vodafone Smart Ultra 7.
Thanks!
You can replace kingroot with supersu thanks to this app:
http://download.dlapk.org/?apkid=darkslide.com.supersume&ver=6.7&server=snah
I did not try the xposed yet.
But it should work properly.
Thanks for the reply,
I still feel skeptical about KingRoot, and there are reports that indicate that replacing KingRoot with SuperSU isn't that easy either, KingRoot seems to completely deny root once altered or removed, which makes it look even more shady, I really want root on this phone, there are tweaks I would love to do such as dpi change, remove the vodafone label on the statusbar and more, but I don't know if I'm willing to use KingRoot in the process. I'm used to SuperSU and Xposed Framework working flawlessly, so I'm really 'scared' on this one.
Thanks

Root. After enabling USB debugging and unknown sources, I click "try to root" and then get the "Failed to root" screen

I guess we'll have to wait for further development on the phone, I won't put my phone trough KingRoot, and you even reported that it isn't working for you... oh well.
Really wanted root on this phone, lets hope someone actually picks it up just as they did with the previous model (Smart Prime 6 / Smart Ultra 6).
İt did not work for me too ı hope a way can be found for rooting otherwise i desperately regret to bought this phone

Don't give up just yet, I do understand your desperation, as I feel almost the same as you, but you'll see someone will find a way, at least I hope...
This phone its awesome for its price point, and would be absolutely marvelous with all the tweaks and adjustments root brings to the table.
Who knows, maybe we'll have a full developed phone (custom ROMs, root, recovery, all of that good stuff), we can only wish someone works on it... :highfive:
Doesn't work for me too
Waiting for some devs...

I'm sorry, I gave you the wrong link..
This one is working for our VFD 700:
http://king.myapp.com/myapp/kdown/i...-svn372160-201609012210b_protected_signed.apk
once again, sorry.
Now I'm working on custom recoveries for this phone.

Hey mate, just tried with the link you provided, unfortunately no success.
Been trying since yesterday to root with KingRoot, using different versions even.
Any ideas? USB Debugging in turned on and Unknown Sources as well (obviously).
Really really really want root on this phone.
Thanks!
Custom Recovery, Woop Woop :highfive:
That's strange that it's not working for you..
Many people say that it's not working for them, others say that it's working..
Where the problem could be?
I got my phone rooted after the second attempt, because I forgot to turn on USB debugging.

Everything matches the about phone screen you've sent,
I don't really know what can be different or wrong, but I've done everything right, I even used USB debugging to change my phone's DPI trough Android SDK...
I'm really confused, should I keep trying?

Umm, did you update your phone?
Because my custom build version is 120FKN1 and I even didn't update it.

I didn't, the phone came as it is out of the box, no software updates were made...
I guess we've found the issue, if the software versions don't match, that means everyone with yours (120FKN1) can root with KingRoot, and everyone with mine (060FFN1) can't...
I've got an issue in my hands I see...
