yes you should .. it beautiful design , it has nice animation , smart wifi , smaller dpi and more feature ..
if it not better than kitkat .. at least the same .

Rather go for B326, that one has been a winner for me so far

I'm holding off and waiting to see what happens with Marshmallow. There's not enough incentive for me to flash Lollipop. Kitkat works well.

Just update your phone. Having a bug or two on the Mate 7 LP doesn't really matter because you can always downgrade back to KK.
If you feel that LP is better, then good for you. If not, you can always downgrade.

Use the kangvip rom its awesome works perfect.

In my own experience the best Rom in terms of battery lifce would be B120 (I have a TL10) though it had notification bugs. The advantage for me with LP is more on the aesthetic side. I was able to make the Blackberry launcher and some of the other Priv apps work just fine, and also able to flash the mod to make the status bar change color to get that material design look. I was also able to flash the Google contacts and call UI files (and deleted the stock EMUI incallUI) so I get more of that stock Lollipopy feel instead of having EMUI. That said I guess for now the best would be using Kang VIP, as Xposed works on it (and once it does you can untick "Disable Resource Hooks") to make the theming modules work. Battery life with Kang VIP is much better thus far too as compared to stock Lollipop.

Which has better battery life? What do you think?

With the latest kangvip I had 6hours sot and about 18 hours phone on all up, that's using my phone constantly.

In fact I attend mostly custom rom . However xposed doesn't work on mate7 therefore is the same (only some module works but are very few) . I hate the ROM stock , my MiBand is not supported with this rom

I really love stock rom and yet, I always use Cyanogen or Paranoid on my all old devices. But Huawei's rom is really beautiful.
I only use Appsetting, Greenify, and Youtube adaway on xposed. And it's works with an old release.
Stock rom is beautiful but too closed . Many things are not supported

Hi
Where from you got xposed from MT7 TL10? Is it working properly?
Secondly, regarding greenify, the same function is already present in the Huawei ROM itself, to protect or unprotect an application. But the problem is that if you unprotect an application like for example whatsapp or Facebook, you will not get any notifications unless you start it manually and at that time you will know what is new. Same is true for greenify.
Sent from my HUAWEI MT7-TL10 using Tapatalk
Yes, that's right, greenify isn't necessarry with stock ROM.
I'm not on MT7-TL10 but 09. And xposed run with an old release. I've no problems.
Any news from around the traps if we are getting lollipopped yet

[REQUEST] CM12/13 for Mate 8

Hi all!
i recently manage to root the mate 8 and flash some simply google rom ( I do love it!)
but now i am finding for cynogenmod rom for mate 8. as i love the customization that comes with the rom that allows me to customize everything without downloadng a custom launcher from playstore.
also
is there any other custom rom that is much darker themes with different notifications tray layout? i kinda dislike the timeline looks on mate 8 stock tray. thanks everyone!!
love the phone btw.
it was a big leap from 1+1, and its a good one.

You can install a dark theme if you find one that you like (you don't need root for this) for ex. here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/themes-apps
but any EMUI 4 theme is compatible.
CyanogenMod is not available for Mate 8 and probably it will never be...
There is already a thread about this

I think personally i am in love with cm customization. Tho i did tried few other roms and i do have few that i like. But nevertheless, would like to anticipated what cm can do on mate 8. Its basically just a personal preference.
I also recently revert from kangvip back to simply google because kangvip rom causes the phone do not want to connect to my pc and restore my previous backup.
thus, despite this request i still looking forward on all the available custom roms and appreciate their hardwork into mate8 roms.

Android 5.1 vs 6 for S6: Recommend stay or update?

Hi all,
Would just like to know what your opinions are on either staying on Lollipop (for the moment) or upgrading to Marshmallow for S6-920F. I have purchased a brand new one recently on a sale and see it's loaded with 5.1.1
Bear in mind I'm gonna be custom modding and specifically need things like Xposed, Viper4Android, etc. I'm not sure how far S6 development for Marshmallow is regarding rooting, custom modding, etc., so I can wait for M development to get better.
Please spare me your thoughts for my pennies.
Regards!

What's the best, relatively bug-free Touchwiz-based ROM for Android M regarding S6? Don't mind Note 5/S7 improvements on it.
If it comes pre-loaded with Viper4Android & Xposed and is stable I would definitely just go there straight.

I think I found the solution, I noticed that my S6 running marshmallow, when I plug my otg to the phone, I accidentally made the ES File Explorer the default, I can't access the OTG via Samsung's default File Manager. So I went to Applications, go to ES File Explorer, clear defaults... plug my OTG Again, this time don't choose ES File Explorer, if it pops out, cancel it. Then the Samsung's File Manager will now recognize the OTG, and boom, I can now use my OTG properly via Samsung's File Manager...
Adoption rate for Android M is 4.6% of the total market currently while L is at 35.8%. That's quite a big margin.

M is running well and brings allot of improvements for the S6. It is definitively recommended to update! Even more recommended is going to XtreStoLite DeoMod Edition 3.2 ROM (stock kernel, stock settings), there you get a butter smooth experience all over the place with no issues whatsoever.
I have this itch to update my 920I to MM but I have two questions.
1. How is xposed running in MM. Are most of the modules compatible with MM?
2. There are reports of root issues more so with Tasker. For me, Tasker is very important.
Any pointers on these two issues will be helpful.

Exactly why I'm hesitant too! Once you on M then there's no turning back. And if you find out something's not yet working 100% like it did on a previous version then you have to wait.
For all that waiting one might as well have stayed on the older version. This was my experience with Lollipop so far...

P8Max Android 6 Update Files

Android 6 is still in Beta!
This are the OTA files to Update your P8Max from B029 (Android 5) to B209/B211 (Android 6):
B029 to B209 OTA DAV-703L

B029 to B211 OTA DAV-703L

To enable the local Update on the B209 Beta you need to flash the following Zip File via TWRP
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7q0s3loYhP3Wjluank5MFM2ODA/view
the link for b209 to b211 is not working, can you please post a working link. Thank you for uploading.
wtf... all the updates only for 703.... 701 is so hated
There is a way to run the 703L Roms on your 701L. I donated to the same guy who posts the kangvip ROM and he walked me thru it step by step. I think he's still accepting donations, it's worth a try.

there is another simplier way to update the b211 without using TWRP for non power users:
1. place the update.zip file (b211) in the DLOAD folder
2. open the phone app and type: *#*#2846579159#*#*
3. now push the HOTA at the end of the list
4. update starts
i had to create the DLOAD folder on the SD card and place the update.zip file in it.
the DLOAD folder on the internal storage did not work for me.
it worked perfect on my 703.
thanks so much y'all

There is some action on Huawei Forum. As I can understand there is full official Android 6 update to P8 Max, but for now it is limited to 500 downloads per day and with very limited bandwith. To get it we have to install updates to Huawei stock apps and click few options. I have managed to get to the download point where it prompts that limit has been reached.
Update image file name ends with ...029_211.

For those on B029 can you all verify that using the HiCare can update directly from B029 to B211? It seems that they are already releasing the B211 as public OTA but it has to be activated via the HiCare app

Yes, updated HiCare give us the option for direct OTA update from 029 to 211, but there is 500 downloads per day limit. After two days I gave up and used "dload folder" method described on the forum to update first to 209 than to 211. No need for root, unlock boot or TWRP.

Yes, I could not find contacts and calendar sync apps in the Huawei Store. I used Google Play Services image (version 9.0.83 440-121911109) from the apkmirror.com to extract and install two small apk files for contacts and calendar synchronization. Used "Google Play Store 6.5.08.D-all [0] 2792142" from the same site. No problems.
Most of the things works fine for now. Few things that I have noticed:
- There are some minor glitches with animation when unlocking the phone with password. No way to turn it off.
- They changed locations of the settings, so it takes time to locate all of them.
- Yellow pages number suggestions in the caller app are so annoying for me. No way to turn it of.
- All apps from the Play Store installed as usual, except Sygic Navigation. When it start to download some additional files, Play Store crash.
- Browsing is not responsive as used to be, both on WiFi and 3G. Not sure why, looks like there is some delay when a lot of small files has been downloaded. Speed is OK with big files.
- There is only 3 options for DPI in EMUI 4. No more per app setting, and it looks a bit strange if you choose smallest setting. Everything becomes smaller (the way I like it), but icons in the home screen stays big and not so sharp.
I'm looking for tutorial for safe root on Android 6, so I can remove most of Huawei Apps.
Sorry guys, I have the dav version 701L and European rom DAV-701LV100R001C100B002 I upgrade? Or should I wait version via OTA? You can help me? Thank you very much
B211 must be still in beta phase! I can't beleive it will be final ROM for P8 Max. Such a vaste of hardware potential.
It is obvious in so many small places (like notifications and shortcuts) that it is not yet scaled for our big screen. Also there is strange and annoying lag from time to time. Antutu score droped from 47000 in 5.1 to 42000 in this version. Every task that reqires network connectin is slower than in 5.1.
I have tried hard reset, but nothing improved.

Apparently, they don't feel too confident about this release and hence earlier beta testers spent half a year evaluating it and I guess they got "most" of the bugs squashed but not 100% yet. I feel that there will be another release after this version that should stabilize most issues like lag, slow network, crashes, etc.

I want believe that is the true, and that's what's keeping me from unlocking and rooting. B211 is usable, it just feels much more unpolished and laggy than B029. This is my first Chinese phone, and it was very pleasant surprise in hardware department.
Huawei is not some unknown brand in my country, most of major telecom companies offer their flagships phones on contract. Let's hope they can manage to produce stable software release in next few weeks.
Main reason for me to rush for the B211 was the problem with notifications. I have tried all possible options but notifications from apps like Ebay or XDA just does not work. It did not improve a thing, I still get notifications only from Gmail, SMS and phone. Is that some kind of policy from Huawei or what?
And why on Earth did they switch "Messages" tab for "Yellow pages" in dailer app? Every time I type the number in, the phone offers to call some restaurant or flower shop in China!?

Notification works for me, you probably need to give the application permission to allow them to post notification. After testing 211 for a couple of days, I've decided to go back to B029 because that's more stable for me.
