[Completed] Set specific notification tone for specific email/contact. (win 10) - XDA Assist

How do i set a specific ring tone / notification tone for a single contact/email address. I have an automated paging system at work that sends MMS, is it possible to set a different tone just MMS if all else fails?

[Q] Treo 750 and WM 6.5 Issues

I loaded WM6.5 ROM on my Treo 750.
Everything is great except one issue...
... I cannot set the Incoming Call Ring Tone.
When I go into the options of the phone, it is set to "none".
I set it to "Vibrate and Ring", then set a ring tone.
When I save/exit, it reverts back to "none".
I tried mid ring tones, wma, and mp3.
I tried ring tone only and vibrate only also...
... But no matter what I set it to, it keeps reverting back to none.
It WILL NOT ring or vibrate on incoming calls.
The SMS, Voice Mail, Missed Call, and email notifications all work fine.
ANY Help would be great!
Thanks

There is no problem saving the settings in the Sound Notifications settings.
While on the dialer(Phone) screen, I cick Menu, then Options. This takes me right to the Phone Options page where I can set the folowing 3 options:
(1) Ring Type (Ring, Ring and Vibrate, Just Vibrate)
(2) Ring Tone
(3) Keypad Tone
While the Ring Type is set to "None", the Ring Tone box is grayed out.
I change the Ring Type to "Ring", I can then select a Ring Tone.
The only field that WILL NOT save is the Ring Type.
The Ring Tone still has the Ring Tone I selected in the box.
But the Ring Type keeps reverting back to "None".
But I did as you said (in sound notification settings)...
I changed the Unknown Caller tone. Then returned and changed the Known Caller tone.
This had no affect on the incoming call ring.
Still would not vibrate or ring.

[Q] Change ringtone depending on caller id (android)

I'm looking for an app that can change ringtone depending on the caller id.
I'm using my phone both at work and private, so i would like to assign different ringtones depending on numer series.
If someone calls from 0872***** i want "ringtone 1"
if someone calls from a number not starting with a 0 i want "ringtone 1"
and for all other calls I want the default ringtone settings. is there someway to do this?
I've tried to do this with tasker, but it seemes like the phone starts ringing before tasker can change the ringtone.

Hanouts - Unable to assign contact tone

Guys, I'm trying to set a specific tone to a specific contact on Hangouts.
But even though I've set it, when I get a message it gives me the default ringtone.
I do have Gravity Box, but in the Ultimate Notification Control for Hangout I've unchecked Override tone.
Any ideas?

no tones can be selected in the settings

Hello,
With my BQ Aquaris X2 (Android 10), I can no longer assign tones to the various events. Under Settings / Tones under Ringtone, Standard Alarm Tone & Standard Notification Tone there are only numbers instead of the names of the tones. If I want to reassign a tone, there are no tones to choose from. After a restart, the tones are apparently there again and can be selected. Some time later the phone is silent again.
What can I do? Why is that?

Question Can't set unique text notification sounds for contacts (12 Lite)

I have a 12 Lite, but I'm guessing this might be similar for all 12 models.
I'm using the standard Google Messages app, and I like to set different sound notifications for text messages from certain contacts. So to start, I go into the main Messages settings area, then Notifications, Incoming Messages, and set a universal ringtone sound we'll call "A". So far so good. Then I go into a conversion I want to make unique, hit the three dots, Details, Notifications, and change the Sound to ringtone "B".
Problem is, changing to ringtone "B" for a specific contact also goes back and changes it to "B" for the universal ringtone for everybody. Then if I go back to re-set the universal ringtone to "A", it also overwrites the specific one I had set for my unique contact. I can't keep them separate.
I've also tried doing this from the main Settings app, and it behaves the same way (I think they both end up in the same place anyhow)
Has anyone successfully set unique text notification sounds for specific contacts?
