Need OK4 modem .tar - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So for some reason after I ran Odin to update to OK4 my modem didn't update to OK4. Any idea why? If someone has just the tar file for the OK4 modem that'd be great.

Anyone, including yourself notice any benefit just flashing the modem until NE9 is updated onto roms?
Thank you for this.
Confused a little. So i shouldnt flash the full ne9 tar if I am on ncg retail/ricks rom? Seems like it would save some steps (I.e. flashing, rooting, reflashing kernal, etc.).
And I should I follow the guides to upgrade to ne9?

Currently on the new ota update the Bootloader was not revisioned so we can go back and forth between NCG and NE9 Firmware/Full Tars.
in the future Verizon/Samsung will most likely Increment the bootloader making downgrading impossible

I can confirm this, I just flashed the NE9 tar and flashed back to NCG to root and then back to NE9 with no problems.
Excuse the noob here...
So you can't just Odin the NCG file, take the OTA, reroot and install safe strap?

no safestrap doesnt allow any partitions to be updated other than data or system. its a festure to rprevent bricks because of our locked bootloader.

Thanks sir. I'm actually not on it yet. I'm just trying to understand the concepts here. It seems I keep seeing people say to flash the firmware even if your on ne9. Or maybe there was a problem getting root on ne9. Idk. I guess I'm just old fashioned and think taking the OTA is best lol. But I think I get it now and what you have supplied us with here is actually easier and works. Thanks I'll try it.
I'm running NCG/Xposed with update and security notifications frozen via TiBu. Has anyone noticed any benefit to using the new modems? Which line in Odin should be used to flash the modem?
FYI
Flashed the NE9 modem on my Dev edition. Baseband still says NCG after trying twice. Used Odin 3.07 first time in 'phone', and Odin 3.09 second time in 'AP'. Left Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked.
Third time I followed the battery pull instructions and it worked! Thanks for that disclaimer!!!!
So under About Phone it says my Baseband Version is NE9 but it says my Base Rom Version is NCG.. Which Odin Stock Full Tar file do I download and flash? I'm on Alliance of course but I have to return my phone to Verizon and want to make sure nothing looks sketchy.

Can't flash firmware

So,
Today I flashed the UK BTU firmware (G920FXXU3COI9). However, when I extracted the file it had 4 files for AP, BL, CP AND CSC so I used them all. However, now I can't go back to my previous firmware (G920FXXU2COH5) because when I try flashing it with Odin it says on the phone: sw rev check fail.
I want to go back to this firmware because I have a Nandroid backup with all my stuff and it doesn't work when i try to restore it on the new firmware. Can you help me with the right file to flash? Do I need the CSC file of the old firmware as well? Can you help me please?

Going NE5 to OK4

I couldn't find any matching search results. I remember with a few phones you couldn't jump over certain updates.
If I'm coming from a custom NE5 4.4.2 and I want to go up to the OK4 firmware, can I do it directly or do I need to step up through with an NK4 or OA6 before the OK4?
Thanks!
If doing it through Odin, you can just flash it. Make sure you power off then boot to download mode.
You may wanna wait, marshmallow update tar file should be available soon.

How to restore the original stock modem (Android 5.0)

Hi all,
I mistakenly put the wrong modem on my phone (Galaxy S5 SM-G900T). I was trying to do a USB-based sim unlock, after installing a new logic board, which had Android 5.0 installed. I had previously done the same steps on my old (broken) logic board, but at the time, that had Android 6.0 installed. The steps included updating the modem file on the phone using Odin, so that it could talk to the SIM-unlocking sofware. (The custom modem came packaged in a TAR file).
So now my Android 5.0 phone has a modem that was presumably for Android 6.0. It doesn't reliably connect to my computer using USB when not in download mode. I can put it into download mode, but I'm trying to figure out how to re-install the original stock Android 5.0 modem.
Here's what I've tried:
Downloaded a new stock Android 5.0 ROM for my phone. I searched SamMobile for my model number (SM-G900T). I got it from sammobile. Forums won't allow me to post the URL, but the full filename was G900TUVU1DOB1_G900TTMB1DOB1_G900TUVU1DOB1_HOME.tar.md5.
Extracted the rom on my computer using tar.
Found the modem.bin file that was extracted.
Used tar to wrap modem.bin in a new file called G900T50Original.tar
Used Odin to put the G900T50Original.tar onto my phone (by selecting it in the CP section).
I tried these steps, but it just timed-out, and I had to unplug and restart my phone.
Did I miss a step here? Is there a specific way that the TAR has to be packaged for it to work?
Thanks in advance,
Antun

This should help you figure it out.

Thanks. Actually, after writing my post, I decided to try uploading just the raw modem.bin file via Odin, and it worked. (i.e. without tarballing it up). My baseband now shows the stock Android 5.0 one (
I'm not sure what I was doing differently than the instructions you posted. I didn't specify the ustar format, so maybe that was it. (I just did tar -cvf modem.bin > myfile.tar).

[REQ][Q] T-Mobile N915T MM 6.0.1 Odin Files?

Anyone have the bootloader and modem for Marshmallow in Odin? I'd really be able to flash the zipped rom TEK rom then odin flash the two proper files to make it work than do a full odin flash, then odin recovery and root and then flash the zipped rom.
