hi,
i am looking to pull the call history off of my phone since i got the phone a year and a half ago. Is there any way to do this without unlocking the bootloader?
If i do unlock the bootloader, how do i ensure to keep the call history data since inception on the phone?
Thanks all.
Hi
Well if you unlock the bootloader it will erase all the data including photos, music and of course your call history.
If you want to make a copy of the call history there are several apps on the playstore to backup your data.

Anyone know of a security app.. you know the type you can send a message to to lock the phone, delete data, or send back a msg with gps location.
The killer is ... i need one that can enable the gps ... last time i looked i couldnt find one.. I am rooted so that is not an issue.. but normally my gps is off so need one that can enable it.
thanks in advance/
Try Mobile Defense. As long as you install it as a root app it will allow it to enable gps
WaveSecure is the best one around. Can access your phone online. U can lock it, back it up, track it through the gps, and even do a full wipe to ur phone all through the web.
+1 for mobile defense
I just recently intalled mobile defense and so far I really like it. With it, you can enable GPS (if rooted) to track it, send a message to the phone, lock the phone, and view details about the phone like remaining battery and wifi/data status. When sending a message you have the added option of a loud siren going off to make sure they get the message and requiring a PIN to turn off the siren if you want. Also, if some one removes your sim card and inserts their own you still have control of the phone. It also will tell you the details of the new sim card like their phone number and carrier via email.
If you intall MD as a system app it makes it unable to be uninstalled via the phones uninstaller programs and will not show up in the programs list. This can be done very easily because just today hah2110 released a zip that can be flashed with your custom recovery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=689350
Wave secure is the only other full feature option that I know of, with the added benifit of being able to backup, restore, and wipe your data remotely. But, this comes at a $20/year subscription. I haven't tried WS personally but I hear good things about it.
dont seem to like either.. why do i need to goto their website to track a phone.. if i pay i just want to be able to get a txt message that shows location on google maps.
using wheres my droid for now in conjuntion with smartprofile which lets me send a message to turn on a profile which has gps enabled.

Haven't yet had a chance to try it, but have sent a few emails back and forth with them, where they answered some technical questions.
Hi, I have a xda zest O2 phone, when I go into my call history and choose to delete all calls, then I press ok, it freezes on this screen, I need to remove the battery to get the phone back on, and the history is not cleared, even when I try to delete 1 at a time, the same problem.
it is a new phone, I have not updated the firmware.
I am on T-Mobile network, the phone already unlocked.
is there any apps that could be used to clear the call history
as this is very useful for me to clear my logs
Many Thanks.
My girlfriend's chacha needs to be rooted so she won't have to deal with the tiny internal memory. Unlocking the bootloader is the first step right? Does doing that change anything in the phone? Does it erase any data (contacts, apps, etc)? I can't test it myself because the phone isnt mine and she'll kill me if I mess around with her phone and end up erasing stuff...
Everything gets deleted, you'll get the contacts again if they are synced with google and progrmas will install again from market, but you will lose sms, and all other data.
Oh alright. Guess I'll look for an app that can backup contacts and app data without root...
When I installed the Marshmallow update on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6, it basically crashed my phone. Verizon sent me a new one and I'm trying to transfer all my data/apps/settings/etc over. The main problem is that the old phone can't seem to access text messages. Whenever I try, the phone freezes and turns off, which means that any apps to transfer or backup my data that would need to access my text messages also make the phone freeze and turn off. I've been able to piecemeal the some of the info that's most important to me over to the new phone, except for texts and I really don't want to lose that history. Is there was a way I could save the file where texts are stored or some other way to bypass whatever glitch is being triggered. Any suggestions?
Gentlemen/ladies,
I've been using my M2 aqua for business for years now, sadly I never ran a backup nor did I use google for anything. Dropped the phone, I can hear it working but the screen is black (no cracks, just black)
The only thing i've been able to do is pull a backup with Xperia Companion, those backups however look like data I can't use. Xperia Companion allowed me to retrieve photos which weren't really all that important, it doesn't allow me to retrieve contact information or text messages.
Getting the contacts back would be nice, saves me days of calling around retrieving my contacts, getting the text messages back however is crucial, there's stuff in there i'll be needing in court. Not talking about lost messages to ex girlfriends here.
The phone isn't rooted, doesn't have USB debugging on, all I got is sony backup files I can't use and the pin code I can't enter.
Anyone know how I can get my messages & contacts off this thing?
