Hey guys, I need your help. I have a Moto G 1st gen.
My screen shattered a while ago, and I bought and replaced the front glass panel, and after turning on the phone, I get a black screen only. I push the power button, it vibrates, then the screen back-light lights up, but nothing comes up on the screen. The vibration works, and the led also flashes white. I also looked in my router, and the device is connected to it. When I try touching the screen, it vibrates because of the pattern lock, so the phone IS working, it just doesn't display anything. What happened?, help please?
You only changed the front glass?see if the pins of the lcd is fitted right..

Check out the connector is fitting correctly in the motherboard as john said. If yes then replace your LCD.

If it's not fitted correctly then the backlight wouldn't light up, right?, mine lights up and the digitizer works.

I have exactly the same problem after replacing a cracked screen - phone boots, the screen backlight comes on, touch screen seems to work as well, but nothing on screen
I even reconnected the cracked screen (which was working) and got the same problem...
Did you ever manage to fix this?

I recently got a touch pro of a friend with a damaged screen that didn't turn on but the touch screen was responsive. Apparently he sat on it and the screen broke.
I then acquired it and replaced the LCD screen and i turned it on but all it shows is a blank black screen with the backlight on. I was tapping while it booted up and it was making that beep noise so i know the touch screen works. What do i do now.

if the lcd is damaged and you only replaced the digitizer then that wont solve the problem, the digitizer just sits ontop of the lcd and recognizes your touches, hence why it mite know that your touching the screen but the screen is still blank

I replaced the LCD along with the digitalizer. Tats what i meant.
Sounds like either the new screen is inop on fit (fraid you need another to test, then send the first back as faulty), or the fault is not the LCD itself.
Possibily its the wrong screen, or its not installed correctly, or you damaged either the screen or the controller when installing.
I'm afraid you dont have many options - take it apart & rebuild to ensure correct parts & fitment, spend £££ on alternative parts to see whats broken (or serious £££ on test equipment!), send it off for repair or give up!
I'd go for option 1 first
If your friend sat on it hard enough to break the screen, i'd be looking for any damage / cracking to the boards / ribon cable mounts and be looking very carefully at the mountings of any IC chips. Incedently, when (s)he sat on it, did the screen work at all? and was it 100% working before they did?
Okay thanks for the replies. I just bought a flex cable where the slider thing is because the old one looked a bit old and flexed out and on inspection of the old screen i found a tiny rip on the screen's flex cable too. I wait for my cable and see if it works and if it doesn't then i'll sent the screen back as faulty and get a new one and if that doesn't work then I'll give up and sell it again
hi
sorry to wake up an old thread.
so what's your solution/conclusion?
is it the flex, or the LCD that broke?
i have the same problem right now.
thanks

Hi, my asus transformer T300 screen cracked. So I replaced the digitizer with a brand new one. (Correct Model 5158n) Put everything back and all looks ok but the touch screen is not working at all. My tablet comes on and I can see the screen but I unable to touch anything on the screen. I opened the tablet back up and reconnected everything about 5 times but the touch screen still doesn't work. Any Ideas. When I navigate down to the developer options using the keyboard and select show touches, I get a load of white dots flying around the screen. What does this mean? Do I have a faulty digitizer or is there anything else I can try to get the digitizer touch screen to start working.
Many Thanks

Did you toggle the service switch to off before removing the old digitizer?

No I didnt. do you think that has affected the digitizer ot the touchscreen board? and do you think not toggling the switch would have affected anything else? How do you think I can fix this problem? Would it be worth replacing the touchscreen main board?

There should be a little switch near the power button on the main board! Flip that before disconnecting anything and flip it again when everything is connected again

Only RMA or change display/damaged internals...
I am replacing the digitizer for a cracked display issue. The tablet worked with the cracked screen.
New digitizer arrived and i roughed everything together to see that the new digitizer works. It does, so i go for full reassembly.
I have the new digitizer connected, white lines barely visible under the connector edge. The LCD is also connected up to the line. When I power on the device now, I get the short vibration and the LCD has a backlit black screen.
Tried booting into recovery using volume button, no joy. Long pressed the power button and I get 2 vibrations like it is doing a reboot, still no display.
Let it sit fora few minutes and press the reset in the tiny hole. Still no joy.
What can I do now?

Does anyone have a TF700 with a busted screen? Perhaps we could work together on this. I now have a new digitizer and a digitizer+LCD. I just need a motherboard or another working tablet to see if my motherboard is defective. I might have shorted something on this one.

Hi all,
Had the screen go black for a little a few times over the last year with my U11. Sometimes waiting a few seconds or hard resetting the phone to recovery worked nicely, suspected software issue.
Today my phones screen has gone black and I can't reboot to recovery, I can take screenshots and hear the sound, touch the buttons and feel the vibrate. Even charging sounds work. The screen displays nothing though. Anyone have this issue? Any ideas? I've tried holding all the combinations of power and vol buttons.
Thanks.

I had similar thoughts. Thanks for the reply. Was it a difficult process to change the parts yourself?

Hardest part is removing the back , be patient use a hair dryer to soften the glue as u work your way around, there are plenty of good videos on removing the back and repacing the screen, due your home work first, you can either buy a full assembly or just the screen,, i would get the full assembly i think ebay has them for 75 bucks, also some include the squeeze sensors some dont ,, i would try to get one that does include them,,just take your time. Hth

Another way to go is just buying a used phone,,,sometimes they can be bought for just over what its going to cost in replacing a screen . Just my 2 cents , hth
