Hello everybody. A friend of mine has a s6 SM-G920F that refuse to charged.
I tried everything I know but no result. When I did wipe cache the phone started to charging for few minutes but it stoped. I saved all his photo through Airdroid and I decided to wipe data /factory reset but no luck. The phone doesn't respond nether to the pc connection. In the end I was thinking that was damaged the usb port BUT the phone charges only in a specific situation and this is when it is at the main screen of the recovery mode. I left it there with the charger all night and the next morning it was 100 %!!! But still no charge when the os is loaded or when is connected to pc.
I don't know what else can I do without trip Knox and lost the guarantee.
I think the problem is a battery -kernel related and not hardware.
Any thoughts?

Since this morning my Nexus s has been acting up. I was tethering to my Transformer Prime because I was at work and we have no WIFI here. The phone was plugged. after a few minutes I realized that I had lost internet connection on my prime. Wifi link was still working. I checked my phone, I had no signal whatsoever when normally I have full bars here.
I shutdown the phone in hope a reboot would make the problem disappear. Press power. Nothing. Press power again, nothing. Pull battery, try all the possible button combinations, still nothing. Charger plugged in, did not rebooted my phone either. Bought a new battery. Phone rebooted again.
Since then, battery status is weird. The phone does not show when it is being charge. Battery level is moving up and down without reason. The phone is going into Airplane mode randomly.
I did a factory reset, Dalvik reset, Cache reset. still the same problems appears. Reflashed Stock firmware, still the same issues.
I don't know what to do anymore. Please help me!
Charge battery fully and do a battery stats wipe, then unplug it and let the phone die before recharging, will probably fix the battery if it's not a hardware issue.
Do you still get no signal?
It's hardware related, i can't charge, or don't know if it does. Tried to wipe battery stats earlier but nothing happened

So last night i was using my portable battery to charge my phone when it suddenly tried to install samsung vr
Since then it keeps connecting to a charger or dock, regardless of whether i have anything plugged into the usb port.
Restarting, wiping cache, force closing has not helped, samsung vr can't be disabled in safe mode.
What is the malfunction with this phone?

Get a can of compressed air and blow into the charging port. This worked for me on my N5 and a similar issue on my N3.
Good luck!

Wth, i have the exact same problem. Mine goes haywire. I used my daughters charger one night and my wife woke me to the annoying sound of it charging, while it was plugged in. Took it of and it hasn't been right since, going on 2 weeks now. What's really messed up is that im rooted and knox and yup that crap, but i took it to the sprint store and they ran all kinds of test but the phone showed perfect. And not once did it act stupid in the store!!! Took it home and bam, starts charging by itself again. So i decided to record the problem using my wife's edge+. Ill be damn that even though they can see its a problem, the test showes the phone in perfect condition so i can't get an exchange until something is "really" wrong. And I'm s.o.l on sending it it Samsung [emoji20] . On a better note though, after about 6 or 8 full charge and discharges, inaccurate battery reading....things have started to return to normal. Only happening 2 to 3 times a day now.

Tried that, it didn't work.
Took it to sprint today and they did a factory reset. At first, while in the store it started doing it again, so they ordered me areplacement. I took the malfunctioning note 5 back and after an andriod software update the problem seems to have gone away.
The replacement is coming in 2 days, so I'm going to be watching this thing like a hawk till then, if the factory reset really worked, not only will i be amazed but also a little hesitant to exchange my phone. I guess some what sentimental, but also do not want a refurb...

Another thing i did was remove the magnetic kickstand from my phonecase.
It's been 24+hours and a factory reset, then the update to 5.1.1 and removing the kickstand have seemed to get rid of my malfunctions.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

So after 1 week with no problems, i theorize that the combination of the magnetic kickstand case with the low voltage of a standard portable battery charger was the cause of the malfunction i experienced. There is another possibility which is also likely in that it may have been an update issue.
All other possibilities seem less likely.

I tried to update my original shield tablet to MM. But I was stuckon the nvidia logo. So i decided to flash the factory OS by fastboot. From my view all went fine, then i typed a fastboot reboot and the screen went off.
Now i can't turn it on, tried to long press power button with an w/o volume down. But it doesn't matter what i try it won't turn on.
I don't if i should charge (LED works), or wait until it fully discharges an hope it comes alive again.
PS: battery was about 30 percent while i started the flash, i think it should stay about the same when plugged in to my pc.
Thanks in advance for any help.
No change function while in fastboot so if it took a long time it is possible battery is dead
Try a full charge and come back to it
Yeah, try to full charge it. since booting also consumes up battery juice..

Check if in your devices manager there is apx driver missing which mean you out of luck because as soon as you factory image the shield you unlock device . No lock bootloader no warranty , I find my self in the same situation <exactly> currently my tablet is also dead. HARD BRICK
I doens't change anything in the device manager when i plug it in.. Also it didn't fully charge since yesterday, it only got warm and still orange led. Guess i will try to RMA it anyway.

so... I encountered this crazy problem that I never seen in any other phone and I had a lot
I've got this one plus 1 (stock operating system, unrooted and locked) and he wont charge at all (when he off or on), my charger and cable are original and they do charge other one plus one (I've got 2 of them).
he wont charge with other chargers and cables.... except Samsung s7 charger when the phone turned off.
I've tried resetting the phone and it didn't help, I cant unlock and flash because the computer don't recognize it (even in fastboot mode).
I even took it a part and tested the battery... it seems ok.
I've run out of ideas :silly::silly::silly:
so if any one of u encountered this problem or have an idea ill love 2 here it
tnx
My Galaxy S7 SM-G930A does not turn on in any way.
It was working well, suddenly it was hanging, with the screen off and the LED flashing green. I could not turn it off in any way, I left it until it ran out of battery.
Now it does not turn on; when connected to charge the battery, it does not show the logo of the battery, the screen does not turn on, the LED does not turn on.
I already tried several chargers, including a wireless charger.
I already tried all the key combinations, and none works.
The computer does not recognize when I connect it.
Same problem here, I disassembled it, checked all connectors but nothing changed.
I spotted some videos in YouTube for dead motherboards S7, some guys re-flow a certain chip in the motherboard and apparently it works ...
I will try that when I can
If this can help you
Have a nice day

My s7 is still dead. Any other ideas, before trying reballing?
Bricked S7
Hi All,
My S7 also started laging yesterday and freezed the screen with not led on. After that, started to boot showing the logo over and over. Reboot-ed pressing down low+ power several times, performed a factory reset, same issue. Tried to charge it with an original charger, nothing changed. Now waiting for battery to drain and try to boot-it/charge it again.
Please advise if you know how can I fix my brick
Cheers!
If you can get it into download mode, you could try a full stock flash using Odin, usually fixes most things.
USB jigs have been pretty successful at waking bricked devices.
Dont power on. in any mode.
No download mode, no recovery.
