Hello guys,
Old guide
Here I'm sharing a little info about rooting marshmallow for those who don't know. Do not flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.64-20151220185127.zip it's giving lots of force closes. Note: I'm using Indian version firmware.
Steps:
Install 6.0 OTA
Install TWRP recovery from here
Download BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip from this thread #3
Flash it via TWRP
When rebooting TWRP will ask you to install supersu. do not install it.

I have 2.64 too and no FC.
Just decided to install 2.64 after making a nandroid backup, in case anything went wrong. I'm glad to see that it's working fine for me, no FC.
The guide is the same as Chainfire talks about his SuperSU.
Its no guide only for MXP

Man you saved my life. I accidentally flashed the v2.64 and the force closes happened. I had to restore my backup and then flash the mentioned version.

super su 2.65 work fine for me, 2.64 need actived for code via adb
AnoopKumar you saved our lives by giving the last simple solution of a working SuperSU.
I tried the latest 2.65, 64, and was roaming around the forums for solution and you provided one! Thanks a lot brother!
FC's are killing me on .64, on .65 the phone doesn't go past the bootloader
Can I completely unroot after rooting with this method (without factory reset of course)

hell guys, why be snobs?
ive been around here for many years, had many, many devices, probably a hundred roms, and I use the toolkit because I find it easier...and have had no major problems.
so
After rooting with the toolkit, SuperSU was not showing up as an app. Installing it via play store worked for me too... - it asked if I wanted to update binaries, I chose normal instead of via twrp, and after doing that and a reboot, all is good...
cheers
Mark.

If you accepted an OTA you will have to re-root manually or with the tool kit you originally used.
You can't simply install SuperSU from the Play Store and regain root. Sure the app will install (anyone can do this) but the binaries will be absent (i.e. no root).
You can test this by opening SuperSU. When you open it, it will tell you if it's working correctly.

I'm guessing that you won't be doing that again! Next time, just install SuperSU without doing anything with superuser. SuperSU will become the default (Alpha Male)!

You need to uninstall Xposed first, before upgrading. Refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217
Just download the full rooted stock ROM in android development and flash it without wipe from recovery.
It's actually fewer steps anyway.
OTA = revert system changes, boot recovery, flash, re-flash recovery, re-root
Rooted stock = boot recovery, flash
No brainer really. Flashing an OTA if rooted is a fool's errand

Nope. It's just flashing an entire, rooted ROM. You will have to install the Xposed framework again but the Xposed installer, all Xposed modules and all their data will remain intact

Yes. Didnt work.
Btw by reflash the zip file you mean reinstall it from pkay store, right?
Pardon the ignorance. Just found out that flashing a zip file and installing apps from play store are 2 different things.
Well my bootloader is locked and neither do i have a custom recovery installed. So flashing doesnt seem to be an option right now.. If i am not missing anything.
Are you running 5.0? If so how the heck did you root with towelroot? AFAIK you can not root 5.0 that way. Maybe that is a problem.

Tried reinstalling it. This is what came up. I am on android 4.4.4 btw
You need to flash the supersu zip using fastboot:
teamandroid. com/2014/06/19/root-nexus-5-android-444-ktu84p-kitkat/2/ (you're going to have to fix that link because I have under 10 posts so the forum won't let me post..)
Additionally you need to have an unlocked bootloader

To get root again either flash the latest CF Auto Root in fastboot or flash the latest superSU.zip in recovery or flash a pre-rooted custom rom in a custom recovery.

I believe Lucky Patcher is to be blamed. If you try to patch anything Google related(ads, iap, store, etc), you will lose root privileges.
I am currently using BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247 and is working fine so far.
Cheers,
Zol.
I solved it I only had to reflash supersu v2.46 and delete dalvik cash befire I restart my phone then you have to restart your phone and go to apps and delete supersu data
And it will be fully working
