[Q] how do I fix a bootloader black screen - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I'm rooted and s-off running latest firmware. Everything works, normal boot, recovery, even fastboot commands via usb work, but nothing shows on the screen in the bootloader so I can't see the menu options.
I tried re-applying the latest firmware via fastboot usb, but it made no difference.
I also tried power off and on with power + both volume, just up, just down, no difference.
Could it be hardware?

What about trying to RUU the device?

I thought about that, and did download an RUU, but Is therea way to do that without being able to see the screen?

You can try:
fastboot oem rebootRUU (this puts the device in RUU mode)
fastboot flash zip 0P6BIMG.zip
I use this file: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347812372
I open with 7-zip, then go to the 'com' folder and grab the rom.zip and rename it placing it where your adb stuff is.
I do not know what, if any screens will say to do this and I have NEVER done it this way. I just get the file and place it on my ext_sd card so someone else might want to chime in if that is the correct way to pull this off or not?
OR
You could just place that 0P6BIMG.zip on the root of the SD card, reboot to bootloader wait like 10 minutes to be safe, press the up arrow and then power... that should kick it off if memory serves me correctly.
Hope some of that helps

Gonna try the RUU mode and give it a shot. Not sure if it'll work, but either way, thanks for the feedback

I would try an exe version of ruu that you run on a pc. As I recall it requires no interaction on the phone itself.

Help! Desire problem, won't do anything anymore

Hi guys, yesterday i tried to root my desire hd and flash a rom called icecoldsandwich 8.5, i started my phone and it got stuck at the bootlogo from ics. Then i think i deleted it from my sd card and now i can't do anything with my phone. i can enter the boot menu but nothing more.. if i select recovery, i get a red exclamation mark. I hope it can be fixed
thanx
Moved to General Q&A.
just download a ruu that is only for your device but be careful ( branded ones and unbranded)
then just put it in fastboot via bootloader and flash it and it will boot up

If you read what they posted, they cannot get to the boot menu. I have a RUU program designed to run remotely from my computer over USB that works wonders if I ever have a problem. I could find the stock .img for your phone and send you the program where you would just plug your phone in over USB, run the program, locate your RUU file (which would be included) and your done. Should be back to normal, worked for me when I accidentally bootlooped. PM me for more info. This will require you to re-root your phone.

[Q] [Solved] Frequent Signal Drops / RUU Help

So I've read a few things on the forum about signal drops and have tried a few solutions but I wanted to get some additional feedback before I go the ATT:
Just in the past few days, I have had increasingly frequent signal drops. This has become really annoying for me, as it always seems to happen when I am using mobile data or sending a text message. The signal drop is transient and only lasts about 30 seconds before it re-connects to my network. I haven't noticed much correlation with when it actually happens but I have attached a picture just so you all can see how frequent these signal drops are. Happens when phone is asleep or in use. These are the things I have tried:
1) Originally was running KingCobra 1.5 and thought it may have been the ROM so I flashed CM10
2) Flashed radio 2.09 for ATT - this showed no improvement / did not make it worse
3) Wiped cache / Dalvik - no improvement
My next course of action was to go to ATT and get a new SIM card. Is it possible that a faulty SIM over time could cause this? And would replacing the SIM likely help in the experience of this community?
Thanks a lot for the input, and if there is something else I can do that I haven't already tried please let me know!
Faulty SIM is a possibility. Replacing the SIM is a quick, free fix. So its at least good to eliminate as the cause.

Can this sort of thing spontaneously happen? One day the SIM just starts getting derpy?
I've heard of people taking the card tray out and putting a piece of card stock behind their sim to improve contact

Well I got a new SIM from AT&T and I'm still dropping signal. They did say that they just put up LTE towers here where I'm at 2 days ago, which, coincidentally is when I started getting signal drops. I suppose all that is left is for me to RUU? I don't know how to so it should be fun reading up lol
Actually: I made a backup via TWRP before I ever flashed a ROM -- Is there a boot.img of the stock ROM floating around out there that anyone knows about and would this work? That would be a hell of a lot better than having to go through the process of RUU..Or is there any way I could pull it somehow out of the recovery files?
Edit: Could someone enlighten me a little bit on the process of the RUU -- The only thing that is cloudy here is that I am currently running CM10, would I be able to run the executable RUU if I was running a stock odexed/deodexed ROM after re-locking the bootloader? I have looked at this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1814217&highlight=ruu) and the associated guide but this all assumes that I'm already on a stock image right? I've tried doing some reading but I am drawing a blank on the RUU process

This would not be the equivalent of a ruu
Flash a ruu replaces every single file/partition to stock.
Running a backup would just replace system, data, and cache
My opinion would be to ruu, on my previous phone this was the only way to fix data drops of

I had issues with running an ruu actually. Its different with this phone
But you can try backing everything up obviously and running fastboot OEM lock to lock your boot loader
Then put it in hboot not fastboor and hooking it to your computer then running the ruu
It took a few tried to get the program to recognize the phone but it doesn't matter what ROM you are on as long as you are locked

Ok so to summarize:
1) in bootloader: fastboot oem lock
2) fastboot reboot-bootloader
3) attempt to run the RUU via fastboot USB? I know my computer recognizes my HTC Device if I run "fastboot devices" command
In the case that it totally derps and doesn't recognize what is my recourse? I still have my unlock token bin file which is good, but I wouldn't have an OS to boot into and probably wouldn't be able to flash anything via recovery with a locked bootloader no?
Edit: Forgot that when you unlock bootloader you do it through fastboot with "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin so ultimately I would be able to re-flash my recovery etc

Edit 2, and 3
2) just select boot loader in fast boot
3) attempt to run the RUU via hboot USB
Your recourse would be to unlock again with your unlock token, flash twrp, and either restore a backup or download a stock/rooted ROM and lock and try again

[Q] Major Help Needed: Flashing to Stock

Hey guys,
It's Sachin here. A new member or the forum. Currently I'm running Android 4.0.4 with CleanROM 5.1 Early yesterday I was doing some tests with my guitar and I wanted to see what would happen if I plugged in my aux cable into my phone. If it would record it or not. I tried doing the same thing but plugged in my phone to laptop and wanted to see if it would pick up sound as well. Well anyways, it was either that or something else that triggered an audio problem. Now I can only hear out of my right earphone. The weird thing is, when I reboot the phone it works perfectly for a 20-30 seconds. Afterwards, the left earphone buzzes out and I'm only able to hear the right one (I have tried multiple earphones and every single one does the same thing). Moving on, I called A.T.T. and the guy walked me through a restoration of the phone (Still on CleanROM, he didn't know obviously). He said I would have to bring it in to an A.T.T. center and that they would have to look at it or replace it for me (still in the 90 day fixing period). I'm scared they won't look at my phone knowing that I do have a custom rom on there. Plus it being rooted. If someone could help me PLEASE figure out how to get to this thing unrooted and back on stock, I would appreciate it soooooo much!
Running TWRP Recovery
Too Loooong Did Not Read Version:
-Left headphone starts buzzing, tried different headphones still didn't work
-Might be a software issue as it works temporary then doesn't
-Called A.T.T. and the gave me an adress where I could go get it fixed
-Have to flash back to stock so they don't refuse service but don't know how
Thanks for taking the time to read through this thread.
Plug phone in computer, boot into fastboot. Run command --> fastboot oem lock
That should relock boot loader, then all you have to do is find the ruu that matches your phones firmware and run that to get back to stock... However it will say "relocked" in hboot.

Can't get my 5 into the bootloader

Long story short, I tried to flash the hellscore kernel (via the HC's management app).... it booted into TWRP... flashed the kernel, then blackness.
Then it wouldn't turn back on... played with button combinations and 10 minutes later, I got into the bootloader, went into recovery and loaded the system and boot backup, thinking I was good to go... Nope... on boot... blackness. Tried a few other things, taking forever to get it into the BL again. Only thing I can figure is that it borked the ramdisk or something.
Now, I am going to go full on, plug into the computer, low level reset. So I've been doing the button tango for a while and figured someone here might know the real mystical incantation I need to do to get it reliably into the BL. It's fully charged and when plugged into my computer, I can hear the USB pinging on and off while I fuss with trying to reset it.
Anyone have an idea?

I eventually got it into fastboot. the adb with the SDK didn't see it, but Wugfresh could (so people who say toolkits are useless can kiss my grass). So I'm back at 444 stock... lost a few files, including the tb backups that I didn't cloud (damnit)... nothing life shattering though.

Weaksauce won't work on marshmallow, you should have unlocked before taking the ota. The "can't click install" issue isn't a weaksauce issue, its a Google "feature". Disable any apps that are using overlay (screen dimming apps are the most common).

First off sorry if it's an answered question already but I can't find it, but was wondering if I can get s-off on my damn phone with MM 6.0, or root any other way? Everything I seem to find does not work and it's becoming increasingly annoying. I tried sunshine also but it didn't ask for payment so I assume it's not compatible with MM or something. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure "weaksauce" was controlled "online" by the devs (Sunshine Crew) and a time came when they took it offline and rendered it useless due to some highschool B.S. bickering, crying and.... And SUNSHINE was born!!! @beaups or was this "online" idea creating and taking life from weaksauce another internet rant?? By the way, you guys who have been making it possible to free our HTC devices all this time deserve to by called RockStars.. And in cases making seeming impossible possible with only java code.. Einsteins of there trades/hobbys/passions. I gladly paid for Sunshine and I will again and again and again if I ever need to. I stated once before when people were *****ing about paying for it that they should get off their asses and develop something similar what does the same and put it out there for free or shut the f up. Or go talk to the bastards that sell you "your" that is "your" phone "your" phone locked down, kind of like a car that you can't turn the seatbelt Dinger off. even though it's "your" car
