I am building this for my general use and thought it would be nice to share. Just to be clear I am not developing anything just making the builds. I dirty flashed over CM12.1 and flashed the latest GAPPS with no problems. Please do not report problems as this is a nightly build and unofficial.

It's broke on my end. It can get a position lock but does not seem to track for driving directions. Another bug I discovered was trying to take a picture in a text message and the camera only showing 1 to 2 frames per second, but the regular camera works fine so I assume it has something to do with the text message app. I still use it as a daily driver don't use the driving directions often. I will keep posting the builds as I make them and let you know when that bug is fixed.
[Thanks! Will definitely follow this until CM puts out an official build. Couple other guys that were building unofficial seem to have stopped for the time.

Ah, yes it appears to get a lock for me as well, but then won't navigate. I've tried messing with gps.conf in several different manners but no luck.
I'm about to abandon the G3 because there is no official CM support. This is where Cyanogenmod is getting bad press - they claim to offer an alternative OS with the latest updates, but some phones are just left in the dust because no one wants to be the maintainer. Best Buy has started selling the 6P - may head over and pick this up!
Please post a link to the kernel source of the kernel included in your build as per GPLv2 and XDA requirements.

Still using this everyday but, as I'm sure you noticed, charging has been majorly borked since 12/23. Hope you keep this up and I'll be watching CM changelogs for a fix. GPS would be nice too!

Yeah I am hoping the problems are not D850 specific or we will never see a fix. I will keep posting builds semi nightly until CyanogenMod starts posting an official build or until I get a new phone in August. I really think this is still a good phone and wonder why the community went to hell on this one.
Have a Happy New Year everyone.
I've been using CM13 for almost a month and its been great. However I only just got an SD card for Christmas. Now, I'm assuming moving apps to the SD card has changed since it let's you format as internal storage now. However that doesn't work for me. Does anyone know how to move apps to the SD card without formatting it as internal storage?
How did you build this? I've managed to build CM13 for the D850 too, but the result was the phone freezing at the LG bootup logo. Your build seems to work perfectly fine.

Ummm well I don't know what you did wrong, but here are the resources I used...
Dependencies for the build were grabbed from this site
https://source.android.com/source/initializing.html
Then I made a local manifest to include proprietary drivers from https://github.com/TheMuppets along with the branch for the D850 out of cyanogenmod github. Hope that gives you some clues on what went wrong.

Strange. That's exactly what I did too.
I'll give it another shot and see what's going on. I'd like to take a crack at fixing some of the bugs.
Looks like tonight's build will fix the power charging issues. Yay!
Just posted the the 12/29 build and GPS is fixed we can now find our nearest Hardee's with ease. Thanks @invisiblek
is anyone else experiencing data loss constantly? I have to disable/re-enable data to get it to connect, otherwise I get (!) instead of (LTE). I haven't seen anyone else complain about this and yet it still hasn't been fixed on the 12/31/15 build. D850 stock CM kernel on T-Mobile, only one APN on my list. it happens on any CM13-based ROM.
also this new kernel makes my phone near flawless. it feels much more like a nexus. however it is still shutting down the phone when it overheats, hence when you first install the rom and it creates the cache, it will power off once the setup starts.

So, this thread is not about when the Thunderbolt will get Cyanogenmod support, because I can search and find that.
This thread is about how "official" CM support works. When I go to the Cyanogenmod site, I see a list of officially supported devices, which if I guess, are made, maintained and released by their team? I've been following along Android forums for almost a year now and see a lot of phone users trying to give their respective phones a CM port or CM rom to use. I presume these are "unofficial" and are being put together "aftermarket" by outside developers.
How and will the Thunderbolt get adopted by the Cyanogemod team and be one of those official phones listed on their site?
I'd take the root plunge for a rom like CM, which seems to be heavily updated and maintened and has the updater which would make updates for me very easy.
The thunderbolt will eventually.. I believe the reason it's not "supported' right now is because it's still in alpha. They don't state official support until they have a solid build.
My location is in montevideo urugauy according to CM7 lol.. On the map it shows me my location but somehow it thinks im in uruguay.. Any fix for this?

Where is it even listed in alpha?
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#HTC_Thunderbolt
All I see are messages in the Wiki that the Thunderbolt is not yet supported. I am not talking about the port(s) that are here in XDA... I'm referring to a release by the CM team.
I am not rooted, and haven't played around with Rom Manager, but is an alpha "official" version of CM listed in there for the Thunderbolt?

slayher is part of the CM team and the thunderbolt CM7 he's building is the "official" version. it's not listed under the officially supported devices because the code isn't anywhere near stable enough to be considered a daily driver. it's buggy, things don't work like they should. it's not release quality software yet.
all CM builds are technically ports. the base CM code doesn't just magically work on all phones by itself. there are specific people assigned as vendor maintainers that are generally responsible for making sure that CM works on their individually assigned device. see http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Community_Members for a list.
edit: i'm sure I did a poor job of explaining it and there's way more to it than what I described, but that's the gist. hope it makes sense
The CM7 alpha for the Thunderbolt is awesome. I have yet to find anything that it does not do well... except wireless tether..
4g, wifi for some people, battery life, soft buttons lighting up, call volume, getting settings to stick.
Just some of the bugs still plagueing CM7 for the thunderbolt.

It seems to be coming along nicely from my end user perspective. I'm running the pre-alpha pre-release on my TB from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049542
I've been using it as a daily driver because of its Netflix support. One of the users in that thread posted a kernel and wifi fix which seem to greatly improve wifi and data connectivity, at least for me. I can deal with some minor bugs and annoyances. I'm just happy to have Netflix.
So once it becomes more stable, is considered a daily driver and presumably added to their support page....it will show up in rim manager and have the cyanogenmod updater support?
Right now for updates, you havta just keeping flashing the time from ur flash card right?

It's the only LTE phone. That's why it will take a while to get all bugs cleaned to be in the supported list.

Thats fine... didn't mean this to sound like a pushy thread. I thought the description given in this thread was fantastic, thanks. I was unclear as to what exactly happens when CM releases a rom.
I haven't rooted yet, but am sort of waiting for CM. From what I've read, it seems to be one of the most stable and maintained roms available and one of my main concerns is "quality" and maintaince/updates. Some of the roms available now sound good, but I don't wanna deal with having to be flashing left and right when new updates get released by Verizon.
My assumption with CM is that I can put install it with Rom manager and worry about updates using their Updater, right? Any GPS issues, battery concerns, whatever would be dealt with by CM?
I was running CM10 back in the day when it was not yet officially hosted by the CM team and I I went back to stock since there were a couple issues with the video recorder and other things. I see now that CM10 is officially being hosted by the CM team but they are still nightly, but I still would like to give it another go around. I was just wondering if there what are the major issues with the ROM right now (if any)?
The first posts don't really tell much except "it's a major work in progress" and the official change log might as well be gibberish to me, and I'm definitely not about to go through all 500+ pages, so if someone would give me a brief summary of what is/isn't working it would be much appreciated!

Its definitely daily driver ready. Just some wake locks making it not have as good battery life as sense. But everything else works great. The build bot has been broken since 10/12 so when the next official nightly comes out, it should have a bunch of new things... Maybe new kernel?

Sorry if I caused any confusion or wasn't clear but yeah, there is definitely no radio action in this build. I'm not particularly familiar with the RIL stuff and wasn't involved in getting it going for ICS. I'm sure it will get worked out sooner or later with jblack, liquid, santod, and others working on it. That's not to say I won't continue to mess around with it myself but I wouldn't put any money on me making a breakthrough
The purpose of this build was two-fold...to give people something new to play with if they wanted and also just to let the community know about it as another source to draw from and collaborate with.
It's cool. They are working on it together to try fixing data. Your build helped them with some of the other fixes that they needed which was a good thing. Now that a lot of that is out of they way they can focus on the ril. I also found that I can't transfer files over usb. Pretty much everything else works except for what you listed.

This rom worked great for 2 days but now my thunderbolt is bricked. Won't turn on with battery in or out with usb connected. The light inside the grill won't light up either to notify it is charging. All i did was I left it on the charger. It had been doing this before where it would just randomly be off and i wouldn't be able to turn it on but if i took out the battery and tried again it would boot. I had problems with a cm 10.1 build i found searching google where i would get a blue screen and it would crash at random. But I wiped that rom with everything and flashed this to see if this was more stable then that. Don't know why or what caused this. I'd be careful with running this build though.

Your issue isn't due to this rom. I can assure you of that.
You even stated you were having issues with your device powering on prior to running this,
so why you would claim it to be this rom, is unknown to me.
If you flashed the only CM10.1 build for the Bolt right now, from Jblack and got a blue screen, it was from not having the proper ICS radios installed.
If you are going to run any roms using the Official ICS blobs, then you need to be on the official ICS radios or you will get that blue screen you mentioned.
Sounds like you should be more careful about what you flash and make sure you have the necessary radios prior to flashing a rom.
Also sounds like your device has other issues if it won't power on. Maybe it's your battery.
All I can say for sure, is it isn't due to this rom. This I know for sure.
Just wanted to make that clear as your post seemed very misleading to me.

For those who are not familiar with Temasek's work, this is a fork off CyanogenMod with a lot of additional features added, including floating windows, Dynamic Status Bar, etc. Temasek has now moved on to CM-12.0 work, so you can look at this build as the "final" version.
I'm not aware of any bugs (other than encryption being disabled), but please let me know if you find any and I'll try to address them. Also let me know if someone needs (and is able to test) a hummingbird build.
Lastly, I'm planning on trying Temasek's CM-12.0 preview builds next, so if anyone is interested in working on these with me, please PM me or drop a line here.

I am also on an older Carbon ROM. Do you have the issue of battery drain when not used? And very hard to turn the Nook HD+ back on after that? Sometimes I have to hold the power and N buttons for 2 minutes to get it started. And it ALWAYS drains.
I am wondering if installing this ROM is as simple as putting it on an SD card and flashing it and being able to remove the SD card after.

I'm using Carbon 4.3.1. No battery drain problem. I think when the battery is depleted most tablets are slow to wake when plugged backed in because the power is being used to recharge the battery to a safe, minimal state.

I've seen that battery drain on multiple ROMs. It shouldn't happen though, so if this is a constant issue for you, I would suggest you run something like BetterBatteryStats to see what is keeping the device awake.
On a different note, I've uploaded an updated build to fix the FC issue with TRDS (reported by @CweeperHugz), as well as a build for hummingbird/HD (kindly tested by @CweeperHugz, so lots of thanks to him).
I think it'll be new year before we can have CM12 builds for testing. I'm working on it nowadays, but my personal life does not give me much spare time for this. In the meanwhile, those that are using my builds, if you experience any clear bugs (Settings or SystemUI FC-ing etc.), please let me know how to reproduce the bug or send me a logcat and I will try to fix it -- as far as I'm aware, there should not be any outstanding bugs with the current builds but feel free to prove me wrong.

The ROM is super light and uses almost no battery! in 18 hours my battery is still 74% (mind you my S4 only lasted 5 hours max and it was at 7% already by 2pm at work. Also my S4 is now twice as fast as my stupid S5 on stock rom.

I think the ROM you mentioned is a TouchWiz ROM, right? In that case it's not possible, sorry -- I need the full source code to do unofficial builds.
Yes it's a touchwiz rom. Wouldn't that be available since android is open source?

That part of Android is under the Apache License, which means Samsung does not need to provide the source code.
I would suggest to compile RastaKat, if possible:
https://github.com/rascarlo
It is a clean and fast rom based on AOSP with other commits that adds useful features.
Performance at pure state.
Can someone please point me to a thing that isn't mega? I don't exactly trust them.
I was looking for the official firmware and found an unofficial cm build. I don't know who the developer is, if it's working, something's broken, etc.
Just wanted to let everyone know. If the developer stumbles upon this and don't want it to be posted here, just let me know and I will remove it.
Download: check thread
This is a build from @vache . given the date, I'd assume this is a build that doesn't have nfc and the wonky display.

As I said I have no clue.
Probably best to remove the link as he is collaborating now with someone else and I think they would prefer peoples first experience with something they have built to be slightly more positive.

Yeah, that would be an unstable and broken early test build (not intended for public consumption). We'll have something more usable ready for you all to try soon.
Sneak Preview
For the impatient, here is a more usable preview build:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/hc19wc76a7y8374/cm-12.1-20150916-UNOFFICIAL-lux.zip
There's still a lot of work to be done, but at least the core functionality should work in this build (booting, WiFi, NFC, camera, GPS, audio, etc.). I'm not looking for bug reports at this point. Don't be surprised if you find something that doesn't work. One known issue is that AudioFX is broken right now.
But if you like living on the edge and want to try something new, you can flash it if you like. Use my TWRP build (originally mentioned in my kernel thread) to flash this ROM. The TWRP currently on vache's thread will have issues, so you must use mine.

It works well enough. Loving the LED settings. No it's not multicolored, before people ask, but you can set different lengths and durations. Battery didn't seem as good, and felt a little more choppy at times, but this is why I'm assuming they didn't release lol. Not complaining. Just super excited to see some development.

Thanks for your work @ squid2.
I know it's an earlier version, but I will spend a feedback, do not know if it's the same with you.
Tested the ROM on my device, everything seemed to work fine, except the SIM. He was not recognized, tried flashing another modem, but did not work well.
In today posted in another post version, the SIM worked, but not WIFI.
Hi guys,
I made a PAC build for lux available here : http://moto.shreps.fr/?dir=Moto X Play (lux)/rom/pac
Based on the latest work with @squid2 and @vache
If some of you want to try and report back, would be great !
I think I will open the dedicated thread tomorrow or this weekend

I'm in Canada, and my Sim works fine. It takes a very long time to pick it up though.
@squid2 @vache @Shreps
Is there any way you can enable dual sim in these ROMs straight out the gate? I don't have a second Sim to test at the moment, but that would be awesome.

The Canadian model is single sim only I believe.

Technically true. If you look inside the sim slot, you'll see the pins are there for dual sim. On the ejector tray, the second sim slot is covered by a dummy piece of plastic. There are also reports of people flashing a dual sim ROM and it working.
@vache I'm testing the SOKP right now WiFi works but camera and layers doesn't ,on RR WiFi doesn't
Edit:the device is flying zero lags overheating issues
What does layers mean? And the last line zero lags is good. But do you mean there are overheating issues? Or no overheating issues?

It's actually a stock Android theme engine. If I remember correctly, it was introduced by Sony into aosp, and it's baked into factory ROMs like on the n9. The layers app just makes things easier to manage it all, because the average Joe has no knowledge that it even exists.
